Stick to the [name_m]Griffin[/name_m] spelling. I like [name_m]Felix[/name_m] [name_m]Griffin[/name_m]…“happy strength”. =)

Really like [name_m]Griffin[/name_m]! I would stick with the more common spelling though.
Not a big fan of [name_m]Felix[/name_m]… Always reminded me of the cat (cartoon) but that’s just me

Okay, I am going to stick with the simpler and more common spelling of [name_m]Griffin[/name_m]. but I would still love more opinions, thank you both for yours izza and stef

I like the gryphon spelling the best it’s still a common spelling and it’s the only one I don’t think of family guy …I love the name griffin especially with the mythology connections but every time I put on one of my lists family guy pops into my head I would love to meet a little one with the name maybe I’d think of them instead of a lame crude comedy

[name_m]Felix[/name_m] griffin flows better [name_f]IMO[/name_f] others it might be the other way though

Yeah I was looking at alternate spellings to avoid that connection. It was what worried my SO about the name, but most friends and family I have asked don’t think of that first (even those that love the show). But either way there is a cartoon, an annoying cat or a dumb fat guy, but most peoples first thoughts are either the creature or Gryffindor from [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m], which, since we both read and loved the books, only casts the name in an increasingly brighter light for me.

[name_m]Felix[/name_m] [name_m]Griffin[/name_m] sounds the best to my ear.

[name_m]Griffin[/name_m] [name_m]Felix[/name_m] is quite handsome. [name_f]My[/name_f] favorite.

Thank you southern.maple (my SO agrees with you about flow) and thank you bellerose, I completely agree with you

ugh it’s so hard! i don’t know, i think [name_m]Griffin[/name_m] and [name_m]Felix[/name_m] are both handsome. whatever you pick would be great!!!

Thank you for the confidence boost senseandsensibility!

I prefer [name_m]Griffin[/name_m], so I voted [name_m]Griffin[/name_m] [name_m]Felix[/name_m]. [name_m]Both[/name_m] are nice, though.

The comedy’s being forgotten fast so I wouldn’t worry to much on it … I wonder why I never think of HP I’m a huge fan I’m actually wearing a ravenclaw hoody right now lol, maybe if I keep that in mind with the creature the comedy will disappear, if that’s why your looking for other spelling stick with griffin most kids now haven’t heard of it thankfully the other ones also take away the myth

Please please please spell it [name_m]Griffin[/name_m]! Why make his life more complicated by have to spell his name ALL the time for people. Everyone will automatically spell it [name_m]Griffin[/name_m] anyways. But I love both names and I don’t think you can go wrong either way.

Family [name_m]Guy[/name_m] ruined the name for me, otherwise I would probably like it. I really dislike the show and the character, so that probably has something to do with it. It would be like naming my kid [name_m]Homer[/name_m] (to me), which I also would probably like if it weren’t for Simpsons…but I’m neutral about that show. I love [name_m]Felix[/name_m] but I do think you should go with the name you love. The Family [name_m]Guy[/name_m] thing won’t last I’m sure.

I would personally stick to the [name_m]Griffin[/name_m] spelling. [name_m]Griffin[/name_m] [name_m]Felix[/name_m] is very handsome.

I love both names, but I prefer [name_m]Felix[/name_m]. [name_m]Felix[/name_m] [name_m]Griffin[/name_m] sounds very handsome

[name_m]Felix[/name_m] [name_m]Griffin[/name_m] has the best flow. The f’s are more pronounced in [name_m]Griffin[/name_m] [name_m]Felix[/name_m] because they’re closer together. [name_f]Do[/name_f] they both sound good with your surname?

Thank you for everyone’s thoughts and opinions, they were very informative. Hopefully an official name announcement is in our near future!

It depends on what your last name is. They both sound good. I prefer [name_m]Felix[/name_m] over [name_m]Griffin[/name_m] though.
I don’t care for [name_m]Griff[/name_m] as a nickname.
