[name]Hi[/name],
We are expecting a baby girl and we love the name [name]Ava[/name]. The only problem is, it’s popularity. I read recently it was the #1 name for baby girls in Massachusetts where we live. Does anyone have any suggestions? We realy like names that end in vowels. We dont like [name]Eva[/name]. But we want something that sounds feminine and pretty?? Thanks for your help!
A couple off the top of my head:
[name]Anna[/name]
[name]Keira[/name]
Eveangeline
[name]Olivia[/name] (also popular)
[name]Chloe[/name]
[name]Layla[/name]
[name]Emma[/name]
[name]Ella[/name]
[name]Audra[/name]
Almost all of my favorite names end in a vowel as well
here’s some of my favs:
[name]Isla[/name] (eye-la)
[name]Aria[/name]
[name]Briella[/name]
[name]Livia[/name]

[name]Melina[/name]
[name]Cora[/name]
[name]Remi[/name]
[name]Jolie[/name]

[name]Fiona[/name]
maybe you like some of them?
[name]Ada[/name] and [name]Ivy[/name] come to mind. Also, you say you don’t like [name]Eva[/name] - what about [name]Eve[/name], or [name]Evie[/name] as nickname for a longer name like [name]Evelyn[/name]?

[name]Octavia[/name] (nn [name]Ava[/name] if it’s a bit too much to bear)
[name]Idonia[/name] nn [name]Ida[/name]
[name]Olivia[/name] (pretty popular, but nonetheless)
[name]Claudia[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name]
[name]Viola[/name]
[name]Love[/name] [name]Ava[/name] but know what you mean about popularity. It’s the same in [name]Sydney[/name]!
Names close to [name]Ava[/name] that I love are:
[name]Isla[/name]
[name]Lila[/name]
[name]Lola[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name]
[name]Sage[/name]
[name]Edie[/name] - cute!
[name]Coco[/name]
My favorite two syllable girls’ names that end in an “a”:
[name]Anna[/name] - so classic. beautiful.
[name]Ada[/name]
[name]Ailsa[/name] - one of my fave Scottish names.
[name]Aoife[/name]
[name]Brenna[/name] - but it is kind of dated.
[name]Clara[/name] - adore it! The best!
[name]Cecilia[/name] nn [name]Celia[/name] - one of my favorites, of course breaks the two syllable rule.
[name]Cora[/name]
[name]Fiona[/name] - oops, three syllables.
[name]Gemma[/name] - one of my favorites
[name]Georgia[/name] - one of my favorites
[name]Ida[/name]
[name]Iona[/name]
[name]Isla[/name]
[name]Iris[/name] - doesn’t end in an “a” but so gorgeous that I had to include it.
[name]Kiera[/name]
[name]Laura[/name] - my daughter’s name. I nearly forgot to put it in because in my case it’s already taken. But you are free to use it!
[name]Lila[/name]
[name]Lola[/name]
[name]Matilda[/name] nn [name]Tilda[/name] - love
[name]Maya[/name]
[name]Mila[/name]
[name]Mira[/name] - love
[name]Nora[/name]
[name]Paola[/name]
[name]Stella[/name]
[name]Tessa[/name]
[name]Viola[/name]
[name]Willa[/name]
[name]Zara[/name]
When I hear [name]Ava[/name], I hear the soft, feminine vowel sound combined with the elegance of the “v” sound. Names that are both elegant and feminine to my ear:
[name]Celeste[/name]
[name]Celia[/name]
[name]Clara[/name]
[name]Cora[/name]
[name]Delia[/name]
[name]Delilah[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name]
[name]Lila[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name]
[name]Nora[/name]
[name]Stella[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name]
[name]Tessa[/name]
[name]Tula[/name]
[name]Violet[/name]
[name]Viviana[/name]
[name]Willa[/name]
[name]Zara[/name]
From the list above, I think [name]Lila[/name] and [name]Viviana[/name] feel the most like [name]Ava[/name]. In addition to sounding elegant and feminine, they both have the relaxed feel of [name]Ava[/name]. Good luck!
Thought of a few more!
