Well it's a girl, opinions on the slightly long list please?

I had previously posted here over on the boys forum about a friend of mine who is pregnant they hadn’t found out the baby’s gender but the boys name list was shorter and easier to deal with, the top combo was definitely [name]Rafferty[/name] [name]James[/name] or [name]Rafferty[/name] [name]Nikolai[/name] (especially meaningful since the babies father is RAAF - in the airforce) and they put off discussing girls names, then they found out it’s going to be a gorgeous little girl and back to the drawing board they went to wade through all the girls names they had, this is believe it or not the short list

[name]Molly[/name] [name]Maeve[/name] / [name]Molly[/name] [name]Lane[/name] / [name]Molly[/name] [name]Tuesday[/name] (this started as a joke middle name for every name as they found out she was pregnant on a [name]Tuesday[/name] and found out the sex on a [name]Tuesday[/name] and joke about having conceived her on a [name]Tuesday[/name]… all that’s left is to have her on a [name]Tuesday[/name] - if they do they might actually go for it… what do you all think? [name]Carrie[/name] originally suggested [name]Tuesday[/name] as a first name but it has at best been moved to a middle lol)

[name]Sabrina[/name] [name]Joy[/name] / [name]Sabrina[/name] [name]Kate[/name] / [name]Sabrina[/name] [name]Lynn[/name] / [name]Sabrina[/name] [name]Faye[/name]

[name]Tessa[/name] [name]Mae[/name] / [name]Tessa[/name] [name]Belle[/name] / [name]Tessa[/name] [name]Eve[/name]

[name]Stella[/name] [name]Sage[/name] / [name]Sofia[/name] [name]Sage[/name] / [name]Susie[/name]/[name]Susannah[/name] [name]Sage[/name] - [name]Carrie[/name] likes the name [name]Sage[/name] as a middle but can’t decide on a first name, for some reason she’s stuck on S’s as she thinks the alteration would be cute but is open to other suggestions on a first name for [name]Sage[/name]

[name]Margo[/name] [name]Joanne[/name] ([name]Joanne[/name] is [name]Carrie[/name]'s mother’s name) / [name]Margo[/name] [name]Belle[/name]

[name]Tabitha[/name] [name]Faye[/name] / [name]Tabitha[/name] [name]Jean[/name]

[name]Edith[/name] [name]Lynn[/name] / [name]Edith[/name] [name]Jean[/name] nn [name]Edie[/name]

[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Greer[/name] nn GG

They were also toying around with the name [name]Sinclair[/name] for a little girl using nn’s like [name]Cindy[/name] or [name]Claire[/name]/[name]Clara[/name] as it was [name]Bryce[/name]'s grandmother’s maiden name but aren’t sure

Also [name]Baby[/name] Girl will have an older half sister [name]Sasha[/name] [name]Elise[/name] which may cancel out the S names, [name]Carrie[/name]'s not sure if she wants to start a trend but these are all names they both absolutely adore and need help narrowing things down for whatever reason, honest opinions are welcomed constructive criticism included

Thanks so much

[name]Molly[/name] - I love [name]Molly[/name], but it’s just too nickname-y for me to get on board with. I do think the middle names are nice though, [name]Maeve[/name] is probably my preference. The reason behind [name]Tuesday[/name] is fairly humorous also, there’s nothing wrong with a bit of fun as long as the name is nice (which [name]Tuesday[/name] is, in my opinion)! I was almost named [name]Tuesday[/name], but my dad’s surname was Friday and [name]Tuesday[/name] [mumsname]-Friday would have been huge overkill!

[name]Margo[/name] - I’m following on with this one because, I was wondering what your friend thinks about [name]Margaret[/name]? Or some variant there of? As [name]Margo[/name] and [name]Molly[/name] are both pet forms of [name]Margaret[/name], and you could probably even get the nickname [name]Greer[/name] out of that if you so wished - along with [name]Maggie[/name], [name]Greta[/name], [name]Mary[/name], [name]Meg[/name], [name]Pearl[/name] ([name]Margaret[/name]'s meaning), [name]Daisy[/name] ([name]Marguerite[/name] is a type of [name]Daisy[/name]) and a whole host of other cute nicknames. I think it could really work for her, if she doesn’t hate the name. I like [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Maeve[/name], [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Sage[/name] and [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Belle[/name]. If not, I do think [name]Margo[/name] can stand on it’s on pretty well (though I think the [name]Margot[/name] spelling holds up a little better) and the middles are nice. I think [name]Margo[/name] [name]Sage[/name] could work too.

[name]Sabrina[/name], [name]Sofia[/name], [name]Susannah[/name] & [name]Stella[/name] - I thought I’d group these together. As much as I love [name]Sabrina[/name] and [name]Susanna[/name], and think the other two are cute, I think she would really be limiting herself if she went for another “S----a” name. Think about it - if she has [name]Sasha[/name] and [name]Stella[/name], and then decides she wants to name a third child [name]Molly[/name] or [name]Margo[/name], she might find herself feeling like it doesn’t fit into the set again.

[name]Sinclair[/name] - I think [name]Sinclair[/name] is a little less limiting as it doesn’t end with an ‘a’, but I think think it’s a bit too close. Not to mention, it’s very masculine in my opinion, plus the “sin” part of the name might be a bit much if they’re religious. I do like the nicknames though. Perhaps [name]Claire[/name]/[name]Clara[/name] would be a nice way to honour his grandmother while still keeping it feminine and sweet. [name]Clara[/name] [name]Sage[/name] or [name]Clara[/name] [name]Jean[/name] would be so cute.

[name]Tessa[/name] - I think this sounds a little incomplete to me, but I personally think it goes quite well with [name]Sasha[/name]. [name]Tessa[/name] [name]Mae[/name] and [name]Tessa[/name] [name]Belle[/name] are very sweet, I can picture them on a lovely little girl.

[name]Tabitha[/name] - Though I like the name in theory, something about the way it’s said makes me think of something spluttering. It’s cute though, I love the nicknames [name]Tabby[/name] and [name]Tabby[/name]-[name]Cat[/name] for a little girl! I’m put off by the nickname Bitty though. [name]Tabitha[/name] [name]Jean[/name] is very classic sounding, I like it.

[name]Edith[/name] - I think this name could easily make a comeback, considering that [name]Ethel[/name] has in the UK. [name]Edie[/name] is a sweet nickname, though overall I prefer [name]Eden[/name] to [name]Edith[/name]. My middle preference here is [name]Edith[/name] [name]Jean[/name].

[name]Georgia[/name] - I love this name, and I love it paired with [name]Greer[/name] - GG is a very cute nickname in my opinion. This is the best choice in my opinion.

So, overall, out of her list I think [name]Georgia[/name] [name]Greer[/name] is the best combo - great with [name]Sasha[/name] [name]Elise[/name], and versatile because of the nickname possibilities. Closely followed by [name]Tabitha[/name] [name]Jean[/name], [name]Margo[/name] [name]Belle[/name]/[name]Sage[/name] and [name]Tessa[/name] [name]Mae[/name]/[name]Belle[/name]. However, I still stick by my suggestion of [name]Margaret[/name], if I were here I’d really consider it. Perhaps not the best fit with [name]Sasha[/name], but at least with a sibset like [name]Sasha[/name] and [name]Margaret[/name] there’s no theme and she’s free to choose any name she likes for #3 if she has one.

My other suggestions would be:
[name]Mila[/name]
[name]Elissa[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Johanna[/name]
[name]Olivia[/name]
[name]Audrey[/name]
[name]Sadie[/name]
[name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Mara[/name]
[name]Violet[/name]
[name]Lily[/name]
[name]Veda[/name]
[name]Scarlett[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name]
[name]Raina[/name]

I like all of the first names well enough, some a good deal, but the middles all seem too plain and short and unimaginative with the suggested first names. I’m somewhat encouraged by [name]Sasha[/name] [name]Elise[/name] that something more interesting than anything suggested might prevail. I like some of the first name suggestions as combos, rather than being used with the suggested middles, like [name]Margo[/name] [name]Tabitha[/name]. Maybe [name]Tabitha[/name] [name]Tuesday[/name]? I also like [name]Tessa[/name], but it’s so simple that again, I’d only like it with a more complex middle. [name]Stella[/name] is too close to [name]Sasha[/name], and as the previous commenter posted, it would set a precedent for “s” names. Oh, I also like [name]Edith[/name] [name]Susannah[/name], which reverses the initials of [name]Sasha[/name] [name]Elise[/name].

[name]Just[/name] a quick comment re: [name]Tuesday[/name] – I don’t know if she’d really like to know she was conceived on a [name]Tuesday[/name]! [name]Just[/name] some food for thought.

  1. [name]Sabrina[/name] [name]Kate[/name]
  2. [name]Tabitha[/name] [name]Faye[/name]
  3. [name]Molly[/name] [name]Maeve[/name]

I also like [name]Stella[/name], but not with an S middle. It’s not the alliteration that bugs me (because I love [name]Molly[/name] [name]Maeve[/name]) but the hissy sound of two S names.

If I could mix it up a little, the fourth choice would be [name]Susannah[/name] [name]Maeve[/name] (I am in love with the nickname [name]Sosie[/name].)

Wow, what great names! Definitely a tough decision.

[name]Molly[/name] – I like this name a lot, but it might be a little too nicknamey for me. I can’t decide though. [name]Molly[/name] [name]Tuesday[/name] is adorable.

[name]Sabrina[/name] – [name]Sabrina[/name] isn’t my style for some reason, but I think it is a lovely name that is sophisticated and fun. [name]Sabrina[/name] [name]Joy[/name] and [name]Sabrina[/name] [name]Kate[/name] are my favorites of the combos.

[name]Tessa[/name] [name]Belle[/name] – This combo is just perfection. I love the spunky [name]Tessa[/name] with the beautiful and understated [name]Belle[/name].

[name]Stella[/name] [name]Sage[/name] - I like how this one sounds, but the other first names don’t seem to go as well with [name]Sage[/name]. What about [name]Sabrina[/name] [name]Sage[/name]? [name]Molly[/name] [name]Sage[/name] would be nice too!

[name]Margo[/name] – I think [name]Margo[/name] is a really nice name, but it sounds a little heavy with [name]Belle[/name] or especially [name]Joanne[/name] as a mn. What about [name]Margo[/name] [name]Faye[/name] or [name]Margo[/name] [name]Tuesday[/name]?

[name]Tabitha[/name] [name]Faye[/name] / [name]Tabitha[/name] [name]Jean[/name] – I really don’t prefer [name]Tabitha[/name]. I think the name is very heavy and the only obvious nn of [name]Tabby[/name] does not appeal to me.

[name]Edith[/name] [name]Lynn[/name] / [name]Edith[/name] [name]Jean[/name] nn [name]Edie[/name] – [name]Edie[/name] is cute, but [name]Edith[/name] seems clunky for a little girl.

[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Greer[/name] nn GG – I love [name]Georgia[/name]! I’m not usually a fan of [name]Greer[/name], but it sounds very nice with [name]Georgia[/name]. Lots of southern charm.

All in all, these are great names and I can see why they are having so much trouble deciding!

With [name]Sasha[/name] [name]Elise[/name] as a sister, I quite like:

[name]Molly[/name] and [name]Margo[/name]. I think that [name]Sinclair[/name] would make a wicked middle name.

[name]Molly[/name] [name]Sinclair[/name]
[name]Margo[/name] [name]Sinclair[/name]

I went and saw my friend armed with this wonderful feedback from you all and she’s actually narrowed the list down, sort of, she’s also added a couple of names lol
The ‘s’ names were actually narrowed down to [name]Sabrina[/name] or [name]Susannah[/name] but shelved for a future child so that there’s no pattern to follow or break

Also [name]Margaret[/name] went down pretty well considering my friend clearly prefers more nicknamey names than not but it is in consideration with the others

The list is now:
[name]Molly[/name] [name]Maeve[/name]
[name]Tessa[/name] [name]Belle[/name]
[name]Edith[/name] [name]Faye[/name]
[name]Margo[/name]/[name]Margaret[/name] [name]Jean[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Greer[/name]

The names added to the list:
[name]June[/name]/[name]Juniper[/name]
[name]Marlowe[/name] [name]Susannah[/name]/[name]Marlowe[/name] [name]Sage[/name]
[name]Evaine[/name] ‘[name]Evie[/name]’
[name]Margaret[/name]
[name]Violet[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name]

also she likes the name [name]Mardi[/name] it means [name]Tuesday[/name] in French, maybe a nice way to keep the [name]Tuesday[/name] thing alive, [name]Sasha[/name] (the older half sister) has taken to calling [name]Baby[/name] Girl Tuesy-[name]Tuesday[/name] so [name]Tuesday[/name] is still in the running as a middle name lol

What do you think?

I kind of like the idea of [name]Sage[/name] [name]Sinclair[/name], personally.

ooo also genevie’s beautiful suggestions were great and has pushed [name]Johanna[/name] into the spotlight, but a question, is it pronounced like [name]Joe[/name]-[name]Hannah[/name] or just [name]Joanna[/name]?

I think [name]Margo[/name] [name]Tuesday[/name] would be wonderful. [name]Clara[/name] [name]Tuesday[/name] would be my second pick. I just find that the other nicknames pale in comparison to [name]Tuesday[/name] and it funny, quirky meaning. Plus, I’ve loved every [name]Tuesday[/name] I’ve met

I like [name]Molly[/name], but not with any of the middle names you listed. Instead how about [name]Molly[/name] [name]Grace[/name], [name]Molly[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name], [name]Molly[/name] [name]Ariana[/name], [name]Molly[/name] [name]June[/name]?

Also, I think [name]Tuesday[/name] is so cute as a middle and a first (though quite daring)

[name]Sabrina[/name] - not a big fan, I prefer [name]Serena[/name] or [name]Sadie[/name]. I do like [name]Joy[/name] though. Maybe [name]Sadie[/name] [name]Joy[/name]?

I’d use [name]Sage[/name] as the first name but if not, [name]Serena[/name] [name]Sage[/name], [name]Silvana[/name] [name]Sage[/name] (both names have a nature-y feel)

I like [name]Tessa[/name] [name]Mae[/name] but might be a little too slight as she gets older.

[name]Margo[/name] [name]Joanne[/name] - alright but I like [name]Margot[/name] spelling better, i think it’s more substantial. You could call the baby [name]Joanna[/name], too.

Not wild about [name]Tabitha[/name], but [name]Jean[/name] is cute as a middle name.

[name]Love[/name] [name]Edith[/name], [name]Georgia[/name], and [name]Sinclair[/name].

My suggestions:
[name]Edith[/name] [name]Sage[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Margot[/name]
[name]Sinclair[/name] [name]June[/name]
[name]Edith[/name] [name]Tuesday[/name]
[name]Molly[/name] [name]Joanna[/name]
[name]Sadie[/name] [name]Joy[/name]
[name]Sage[/name] [name]Georgiana[/name]
[name]Joanna[/name] [name]Margot[/name]
[name]Margot[/name] [name]Eva[/name]
[name]Susannah[/name] [name]Jean[/name]

I like [name]Margo[/name] [name]Belle[/name]
[name]Tessa[/name] [name]Maeve[/name] over [name]Mae[/name]
[name]Tabitha[/name] [name]Faye[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Greer[/name]

PS If she is born on a [name]Tuesday[/name] then I would choose [name]Margot[/name] [name]Tuesday[/name] and it would have lots of significance for the parents, and [name]Molly[/name] is cute with [name]Tuesday[/name] too.

I like [name]Tabitha[/name] and [name]Edith[/name]. I also see you beat me to the [name]Mardi[/name] suggestion. [name]Molly[/name] [name]Tuesday[/name] is quirky, and could be awesome, or it could be something she grows up to be embarrassed about.

Out of those 5 combos, I like Margaret Jean the best, then Georgia Greer and Tessa Belle. They’re all nice though. I definitely really love Margaret Jean the most just because there are so many nicknames you can get from it  I like Mardi too as a middle (in fact, she could probably squeeze Mardi out of Margaret as a family nickname!).

Violet is my absolute favourite name, and I love Ruby too. I actually have Violet Alice Ruby on my list (with Ruby honoring a very close friend). Juniper/June is another favourite too. Evaine I would avoid, because of the ‘vain’ part, though it is a nice sound. And Marlowe is just personally not my style so I can’t comment, though I do get the feeling it would be frequently misheard for the more common Harlow or Marley.

In terms of any other combos, I’d definitely suggest Violet Ruby, Juniper Sage “June”, June Violet, Margaret June or Ruby Susannah.

I’m glad she liked them! I’ve heard/seen it pronounced:
jo-AN-ah
jo-HAN-ah
jo-HAA-nah
yo-HAN-ah
yo-HAA-nah
yo-AAH-nah

I tend to say jo-HAN-ah or jo-HAA-nah, but really I think it’s personally preference

Awesome [name]Johanna[/name] is definitely in the running as jo-HAN-ah, especially since [name]Joanne[/name] is [name]Carrie[/name]'s mother’s name but also since they tend to get on each others nerves and fight it’s also off the list as much as it’s on it haha
the list as of today is:
[name]Molly[/name] [name]Maeve[/name] / [name]Molly[/name] [name]Tuesday[/name] / [name]Molly[/name] [name]Mardi[/name]
[name]Tessa[/name] [name]Belle[/name]
[name]Margo[/name]/[name]Margaret[/name] [name]Jean[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Greer[/name]
[name]June[/name]/[name]Juniper[/name] [name]Violet[/name]
[name]Violet[/name] [name]Johanna[/name]
[name]Marlowe[/name] [name]Susannah[/name] / [name]Marlowe[/name] [name]Sage[/name] / [name]Marlowe[/name] [name]Johanna[/name]

[name]Juniper[/name] was surprisingly Bry’s (the father’s) suggestion and wants to nickname her ‘[name]June[/name] Bug’ which I think is so cute and pretty funny that Bry’s thinking up cutesy little nicknames and [name]Sasha[/name]'s still calling her Tuesy-[name]Tuesday[/name] or [name]Ariel[/name] (after The [name]Little[/name] Mermaid) I’m super excited to see what they name her she’s going to be a brilliantly named little girl.

EDIT:
Also genevie I smiled when I read over your first list of names as [name]Sadie[/name] is the name of [name]Sasha[/name] and this baby’s cousin who’s 3 months old now so at least it will vibe well with her cousins since they’ll be spending a lot of time together

I like the middle name [name]Tuesday[/name]!

[name]Margo[/name] [name]Tabitha[/name] [name]Tuesday[/name]
[name]Tessa[/name] [name]Mae[/name]
[name]Edith[/name] [name]Kate[/name]
[name]Sofia[/name] [name]Margo[/name] [name]Joanne[/name]
