We're having a girl! Opinions? :)

[name]Hi[/name] again everyone! I posted a couple days ago in need of variations of my own name ([name]Whitney[/name]) for my hubby and I”s first baby. Well” we just found out we”re having a little girl!!! We are both SO excited. He was secretly hoping for a little princess to spoil

Now, we can really crack down on the names  I hope you all don”t mind helping some more. These are some names/name combos we have been thinking on. Any opinions or additional ideas would be wonderful! Thank you again!

[name]Bianca[/name] [name]Avalon[/name]
[name]Bianca[/name] [name]Ellery[/name]
[name]Bianca[/name] [name]Fiona[/name]
[name]Bianca[/name] [name]Ruby[/name]

[name]Isla[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] [name]Ruby[/name]

[name]Ellery[/name] [name]Avalon[/name]
[name]Ellery[/name] [name]Fiona[/name]
[name]Ellery[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]

[name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Cytherea[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Fiona[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Kelsea[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Ruby[/name]

[name]Nola[/name] [name]Ellery[/name]
[name]Nola[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Nola[/name] [name]Cipriana[/name]

[name]Winter[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Winter[/name] [name]Kelsea[/name]
[name]Winter[/name] [name]Ruby[/name]

Of the combos you have, I really love [name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Fiona[/name], [name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Ruby[/name], and [name]Isla[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]! All three are gorgeous. I’m not personally a fan of [name]Bianca[/name], but I would choose [name]Bianca[/name] [name]Ruby[/name] out of the four. [name]Ellery[/name] is a surname, and I don’t like surnames as first names at all… besides, I can definitely see [name]Ellery[/name] getting trendy. [name]Nola[/name] doesn’t appeal to me sound-wise, but I think it could be really cute as a nickname for [name]Finola[/name] or [name]Magnolia[/name]. [name]Nola[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name] is pretty. To me, winter is a season, not a name, but it would be nice as a middle. Here are some other combos…

[name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Isla[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Bianca[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Winter[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Cipriana[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] [name]Cipriana[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] [name]Winter[/name]
[name]Bianca[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Bianca[/name] [name]Winter[/name]
[name]Magnolia[/name] [name]Ruby[/name] (nn [name]Nola[/name])
[name]Finola[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name] (nn [name]Nola[/name])

[name]Welcome[/name] back, and congratulations on the little girl! I’ll start by eliminating names I don’t care for…

Firstly, I don’t like [name]Bianca[/name] - all I think of is a snobby girl who is spoiled rotten. This is my experience with the name, and I think I’ve either seen a film or TV show with a nasty character named [name]Bianca[/name], too!

[name]Ellery[/name] looks like it would best be suited as a middle name. If I were a girl, I’d want a more gentle and feminine (pretty) name, and [name]Ellery[/name], a surname, just doesn’t do that for me. Could just be my style, though.

[name]Winter[/name], again, should be only a middle name in my opinion, especially if it is going to be the new “[name]Summer[/name]” or “[name]Autumn[/name]” - those names seem fitting of a ditzy girl to me, don’t ask me why! While I do agree that [name]Winter[/name] has a sense of elegance that [name]Summer[/name] and [name]Autumn[/name] don’t have, I don’t see it being a great first name. The season itself, though beautiful, is harsh and cold, and I see that reflected in the name…

Oh, and [name]Nola[/name] looks like a nickname for [name]Finola[/name] in my opinion…

On to my favorites! [name]Isla[/name] is spunky, feminine, and cute, but [name]GENEVIEVE[/name] is stunning, elegant, sophisticated, charming, beautiful, strong, oh the list could go on and on! Therefore, if you are looking for a more modern, fun name, [name]Isla[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name] is a clear winner - it is beautiful! But, if you want a name that says classic elegance but can be shortened to [name]Genni[/name] or [name]Evie[/name] for a cute nickname, [name]Genevieve[/name] is your girl. I’m not thrilled with your middle names, but I’d have to pick [name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Fiona[/name] because I love [name]Fiona[/name]. [name]How[/name] long is the last name, because [name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Claire[/name] would be perfect with a longer last name (e.g., [name]Montgomery[/name]) whereas [name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Celeste[/name] would be pretty with a medium-length last name (e.g., [name]Lucas[/name]), and [name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Marguerite[/name] would be pretty with a very short last name (e.g., [name]James[/name]). Good luck!

You have so many gorgeous combos, I had a hard time choosing!

[name]Bianca[/name] [name]Avalon[/name], [name]Isla[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name], [name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Fiona[/name], [name]Winter[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name] are my favorites out of the group with [name]Bianca[/name] and [name]Winter[/name] are my favorite first names.

Good luck with your little girl!

just not a fan of bianca.
[name]Bianca[/name] [name]Avalon[/name]
[name]Bianca[/name] [name]Ellery[/name]
[name]Bianca[/name] [name]Fiona[/name]
[name]Bianca[/name] [name]Ruby[/name]

[name]Isla[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]: love the flow
[name]Isla[/name] [name]Ruby[/name]; middle is too short

eller is just too popular!
[name]Ellery[/name] [name]Avalon[/name]
[name]Ellery[/name] [name]Fiona[/name]
[name]Ellery[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]

[name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Cytherea[/name]: dislike this middle name
[name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Fiona[/name]; love
[name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Kelsea[/name]: NOT a fan at all of kelsea
[name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Ruby[/name]; love

[name]Nola[/name] [name]Ellery[/name]: nice
[name]Nola[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]: love
[name]Nola[/name] [name]Cipriana[/name]: sorry i strongly dislike cipriana

[name]Winter[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]: love
[name]Winter[/name] [name]Kelsea[/name]; again kelsea seems dated to me
[name]Winter[/name] [name]Ruby[/name]; flow is off

Congrats! You have some beautiful name options here.

My favorites from your list:

[name]Bianca[/name] [name]Ruby[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name]!
[name]Isla[/name] [name]Ruby[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Ruby[/name]
[name]Nola[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Winter[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]

Others (sorry for repeats):

[name]Isla[/name] [name]Winter[/name]
[name]Winifred[/name] [name]Ruby[/name] ([name]Winnie[/name])
[name]Magnolia[/name] [name]Kate[/name] ([name]Nola[/name])
[name]Isla[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name] [name]Winifred[/name]
[name]Winter[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]

I love [name]Genevieve[/name]! [name]Bianca[/name] is okay but for some reason, conjures up a snobby, stuck-up girl in my mind. [name]Just[/name] my opinion though. [name]Isla[/name] is cute but becoming very popular. [name]Ellery[/name] just doesn’t capture the feminine beauty of your other names. If you really love it, I think it would be best placed in the middle name slot. [name]Nola[/name]…I’m just not a fan of. [name]Winter[/name] is all season to me. It’s modern and sharp but I can’t imagine a little girl running around with the name of cold, harsh [name]Winter[/name].
For me, [name]Genevieve[/name] is the winner. [name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Ruby[/name] is the prettiest of your selections. [name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Isla[/name] doesn’t have the best flow but it encompasses the two prettiest names, in my opinion. [name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Fiona[/name] is cute too.
Good luck:)

To be honest I pretty much agree with all of this  [name]Bianca[/name] is lovely, and [name]Winter[/name] is sweet, the others are too classic for my tastes…
Best of luck!

Congrats!
I love :
[name]Bianca[/name] [name]Avalon[/name]
[name]Bianca[/name] [name]Ruby[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] [name]Ruby[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Cytherea[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Fiona[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Ruby[/name]
[name]Nola[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]

I can’t choose a favorite. I think [name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Ruby[/name], [name]Isla[/name] [name]Ruby[/name], and [name]Isla[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name] are my favorite. They are all so gorgeous! I don’t like [name]Ellery[/name] as a first name, it doesn’t seem very feminine. [name]Winter[/name] is cute for a child, but doesn’t seem fitting for an adult. I love it as a middle name though.

Combo suggestions:
[name]Fiona[/name] [name]Winter[/name] * I love this one
[name]Ruby[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name] [name]Bianca[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] [name]Jasmine[/name]
[name]Fiona[/name] [name]Belle[/name]
[name]Avalon[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] / [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Avalon[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Bianca[/name]

[name]Bianca[/name] [name]Lily[/name]
[name]Bianca[/name] [name]Annabel[/name]

[name]Phoebe[/name]
[name]Sabine[/name]
[name]Serena[/name]
[name]Zara[/name]
[name]Audrey[/name]

[name]Bianca[/name] [name]Avalon[/name]: Because [name]Bianca[/name] ends with an A and [name]Avalon[/name] begins with one, I have to pause between the names when saying them out loud.

[name]Bianca[/name] [name]Ellery[/name]: Ditto, and the styles feel so different to me…

[name]Bianca[/name] [name]Fiona[/name]: I love [name]Fiona[/name], but not paired with [name]Bianca[/name] because of the flow.

[name]Bianca[/name] [name]Ruby[/name]: I think this flows beautifully…

From the Biancas, I’m voting for [name]Bianca[/name] [name]Ruby[/name].

[name]Isla[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]: I think this is amazing!
[name]Isla[/name] [name]Ruby[/name]: I prefer the flow of [name]Isla[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name], and love [name]Genevieve[/name] more than [name]Ruby[/name].

My vote goes to [name]Isla[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name].

[name]Ellery[/name] [name]Avalon[/name]: Something sounds off to me about this combo, but I can’t put my finger on it.

[name]Ellery[/name] [name]Fiona[/name]: I hear the word “reef” when I say it out loud.

[name]Ellery[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]: I love [name]Genevieve[/name], but I don’t think it flows very well with [name]Ellery[/name].

[name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Cytherea[/name]: This doesn’t flow well to me, and [name]Cytherea[/name] seem too “out there” to me paired with [name]Genevieve[/name]. I absolutely [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]!

[name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Fiona[/name]: This doesn’t flow well to me, and the V and F sounds clash to me. I think [name]Fiona[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name] works better.

[name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Kelsea[/name]: [name]Kelsea[/name] feels trendy to me, like a yooneek spelling of [name]Kelsey[/name].

[name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Ruby[/name]: I love this!

I’m voting for [name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Ruby[/name].

[name]Nola[/name] [name]Ellery[/name]: Because [name]Nola[/name] ends in a vowel and [name]Ellery[/name] begins with one, I have to pause. I think that [name]Nola[/name] is a very sweet name.

[name]Nola[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]: I love it!

[name]Nola[/name] [name]Cipriana[/name]: I prefer [name]Nola[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name].

[name]Nola[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name] is my favorite of your [name]Nola[/name] combos.

[name]Winter[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]: I think this sounds very romantic.

[name]Winter[/name] [name]Kelsea[/name]: [name]Kelsea[/name] is too yooneek for me, and I think that [name]Winter[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name] has a better flow.

[name]Winter[/name] [name]Ruby[/name]: I think [name]Ruby[/name] is beautiful, but I prefer the sound of [name]Winter[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name].

[name]Isla[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name], [name]Nola[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name], and [name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Ruby[/name] are my favorites, and [name]Genevieve[/name] is my favorite of the first names.

(I think that [name]Bianca[/name] is a beautiful Shakespearean name, but I have a habit of thinking of Binaca everytime I see it.)

Best wishes to you!

[name]Isla[/name] [name]Ruby[/name] is a beautiful name combo - love it!

The one name I full-heartedly like on your list is [name]Bianca[/name]. To me, [name]Isla[/name] and [name]Winter[/name] are both too closely associated with current celebrities. [name]Genevieve[/name] is lovely, but will she be [name]Gen[/name] or [name]Genny[/name]? And [name]Ellery[/name], well, I just don’t feel it has the depth of the others.

I would recommend a [name]NON[/name]-three syllable middle name with [name]Bianca[/name], so [name]Bianca[/name] [name]Ruby[/name] is my favorite of your choices.

I absolutely love [name]Bianca[/name], too. [name]Every[/name] time I see the name [name]Bianca[/name], I do a double take, because I find it so beautiful, elegant, and soft.

[name]Love[/name] these ones so so much! (in order)
[name]Bianca[/name] [name]Ruby[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] [name]Ruby[/name]
[name]Isla[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Ellery[/name] [name]Avalon[/name]
[name]Nola[/name] [name]Cipriana[/name]
[name]Winter[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name] - but in my opinion [name]Winter[/name] would only work if she was born in the winter

[name]Bianca[/name] [name]Avalon[/name], [name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Fiona[/name], and [name]Nola[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name] are my favorites–good luck narrowing all those names down!

Beautiful choices.

[name]How[/name] about [name]Ruby[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]? (I have a friend who used this and it sounds great with a lot of last names). also, not TOO trendy.

I also like:

[name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Ruby[/name] (nn [name]Evie[/name])
[name]Nola[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]

I agree with previous posters that [name]Winter[/name], [name]Isla[/name] feel a little too celebrity-ish.

What about [name]Willa[/name]? (sounds like whitney)

[name]Willa[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Willa[/name] [name]Avalon[/name]
[name]Willa[/name] [name]Fiona[/name]

[name]Hope[/name] this helps. Best of luck!

I like [name]Isla[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name] and [name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Kelsea[/name]. I like the name [name]Isla[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name] the most. I think it is absolutely beautiful!

Thank you very much for your opinions, everyone! My hubby and I have been doing lots of thinking on our baby girl”s name this Thanksgiving weekend, and I think we”ve got it narrowed down some. The holidays reminded us both how important our families are to us, and because of that, we really want our baby girl”s name to have super special meaning. We”ve eliminated a lot of the names from our shortlist that were just ”filler” names, or names we liked quite a bit but not LOVED and that had no meaning. So this is what we”re left with

[name]Genevieve[/name] ” No familial meaning for us, but we both love the name and it”s meaning (white wave) to match my name”s meaning (white island).
[name]Kelsea[/name] ” My best friend”s name. Also carries the ”island” meaning that we”re going for. Wouldn”t use it for her first name, though.
[name]Kristen[/name] ” My middle name; hubby loves it, too.
[name]Ruby[/name] ” This was the name of my hubby”s grandma, who pretty much raised him from birth on up. She meant the world to him and he really wants to honor her.
[name]Winter[/name] ” Hubby still loves this one as a play on [name]Whitney[/name], and he loves the nickname [name]Winnie[/name].

Combos-
[name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Kelsea[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Kristen[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Ruby[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Winter[/name]

[name]Ruby[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name] [name]Kristen[/name]

[name]Winter[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Winter[/name] [name]Kelsea[/name]
[name]Winter[/name] [name]Kristen[/name]
[name]Winter[/name] [name]Ruby[/name]

I”ve also thought of giving her two middle names, but I can”t think of any combinations that sound good together.

[name]May[/name] I ask what your LAST name is? I just think it would help give a feel of the flow of the name…

[name]Genevieve[/name] is my favorite of your names. It is beautiful in full, but can be shortened to the spunky [name]Genni[/name] or the cute [name]Evie[/name]. I understand the significance of [name]Kelsea[/name] for you, but it looks a bit trendy and misspelled - far different from your other choices. [name]Kristen[/name] is a cute one to honor you, but I’d use it only as a middle name - it, too, is trendy (or maybe dated). [name]Ruby[/name] seems to be getting more popular in the vintage set, and, even though I personally don’t bother too much with popularity, I only think of my deceased great-grandmother and [name]Tobey[/name] [name]Maguire[/name]'s daughter ([name]Ruby[/name] Sweetheart) with this one…

[name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Winter[/name] [name]Kristine[/name] LASTNAME - variant of [name]Kristen[/name]? ***
[name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Kelsea[/name] [name]Winter[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Winter[/name] [name]Ruby[/name]

Or, [name]Ruby[/name] [name]Winter[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]? [name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Winter[/name] [name]Kristine[/name] is my favorite! Maybe save [name]Ruby[/name] for later? [name]Ruby[/name] [name]Madeleine[/name] or [name]Madeleine[/name] [name]Ruby[/name] would be pretty!

[name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Ruby[/name] is far and away my favorite, and it seems to fulfill your criteria of meaning and family perfectly!
