We're having a girl! Thoughts on this name?

We found out today that we’re having a baby girl! This is our second daughter, we also have two sons. Kids are [name]Francisco[/name], [name]August[/name] and [name]Lily[/name] [name]Hope[/name].

Throughout this pregnancy, my favorite girl names have been [name]Louisa[/name], [name]Pearl[/name], [name]Scarlett[/name] and [name]Wren[/name]. I’ve really taken to [name]Scarlett[/name] recently–so have my kids. My thought is [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]. Our last name starts with an S–so she’d have an alliterated name. What are your thoughts? My only reservation is that [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] but be a too little [name]Nathaniel[/name] [name]Hawthorne[/name] (ha!) Also–there’s a fair chance that this baby will be a red-head. Her sister is a red-head, and so are several great aunts  Thanks for an input!

I didn’t even think of the The [name]Scarlett[/name] letter at first, and now that’s all I can think about. Before you mentioned that, I was thinking that [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] makes it sound like you’re describing the [name]Pearl[/name]. And that for me, would be a no.

I do really like [name]Scarlett[/name] though and think it would be a good fit with [name]Lily[/name].

Yeah, the combo is a bit [name]Scarlett[/name] Letter for me.
I would suggest other names that mean [name]Pearl[/name] but the most popular seem to end in -t or -tt which doesn’t seem to jive well with [name]Scarlett[/name].

I prefer [name]Pearl[/name] with [name]Lily[/name]. I think something [name]Pearl[/name] [name]Faith[/name], [name]Pearl[/name] [name]Mercy[/name] or [name]Pearl[/name] [name]Honor[/name] could be nice.

I agree that [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] is a bit much. I think [name]Louisa[/name] pairs best with your other kids’ names. I think about syllables, and [name]Pearl[/name] and [name]Wren[/name] seem a bit simple compared to the other names.

I actually like [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]! [name]Louisa[/name] is also a lovely name.

[name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] does sound like you are describing a pearl. Maybe [name]Louisa[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]?

I agree with the previous posters, [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] sounds a description, and it makes me think of the [name]Scarlett[/name] Letter. [name]Louisa[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] is gorgeous though.

I like [name]Scarlett[/name] but not with [name]Pearl[/name]. I also agree with the previous responses that it sounds like you are describing a pearl.

Naming a little girl [name]Scarlett[/name] when she has red hair would make it a no go for me, although there’s no way to know for sure what her hair colour will be ultimately. I really like your suggestion of [name]Wren[/name]. I think it goes nicely with [name]Lily[/name].

Thanks ladies. I really like the thought of giving this baby an alliterated name—that’s one of the reasons I’m leaning towards [name]Scarlett[/name]. BUT I also adore the name [name]Pearl[/name]. Maybe we could look at a double middle name–something like [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Louisa[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]? I also really like the nickname [name]Scout[/name] as a possibility, as I’m a huge fan of TKAM. Thanks for everyone’s input.

A double middle would definitely help out with the [name]Scarlett[/name] Letter association. Though I would take some time to consider how it might impact your kids if only one has two middle names. But then again, I like some form of uniformity between sib-sets maybe it doesn’t matter to you at all.
[name]Scout[/name] is really cute!

[name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Louisa[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] is lovely and I think [name]Scout[/name] is a fun tomboyish nickname for the frillier [name]Scarlett[/name].

I don’t mind [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Pearl[/name], although I like [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Louisa[/name] much better. Better flow.

I love alliterative names. They make you sound important. And they remind me of super hero aliases.

Congrats on your baby girl!
