Comsidering [name_u]Wesley[/name_u] [name_u]Porter[/name_u] for a boy! I would love to hear your thoughts on it!
Also, I’ve seen on some posts that people are using [name_u]Wesley[/name_u] for a girl is this something you’re seeing? [name_u]Or[/name_u] do you still feel it leans masculine
I can see it being considered as unisex since it’s a surname-name, but when it comes to real life statistics, [name_u]Wesley[/name_u] is the 70th most popular boy name in the US, whereas it’s not even in the top 1000 for girls. Could it work on a girl? Yeah, maybe! But would anyone assume a [name_u]Wesley[/name_u] was a girl? I really doubt it.
I think most people will assume that [name_u]Wesley[/name_u] is a boy, but phonetically, it does sound a bit feminine.
But if you are set on using [name_u]Porter[/name_u] as the middle name for a girl, then [name_u]Wesley[/name_u] [name_u]Porter[/name_u] feels verrrrry masculine. I would lean toward making one of those names more feminine, though not necessarily a hyper-feminine name.
I do not consider the name gender neutral at all, and j would be surprised to meet a girl named [name_u]Wesley[/name_u] I don’t think you need to worry at all about it being feminine, unless there is some wild, completely unpredictable uptick in the name for girls.
[name_u]Wesley[/name_u] is all boy to me. [name_u]Ive[/name_u] seen people talk about it for a girl, but if met in public I still think most people would assume [name_u]Wesley[/name_u] is a boy.
I know an extremely precious two year old girl named [name_u]Wesley[/name_u]. I’ve known her since she was born & see her at least once every couple of months. I still have a hard time accepting that her name is [name_u]Wesley[/name_u], because it really does feel masculine to me. I wouldn’t worry that it’s too gender neutral if you love it for a boy.
