I’m due in 2 months and feeling a disappointed that I havn’t found the perfect name!
I’m leaning towards the name [name]Weston[/name] but I’m not 100% sold! Perhaps I need some convincing! I also like [name]Emmett[/name], [name]Everett[/name] and [name]Oliver[/name] but I have my concerns which I have listed below. I would appreciate some guidance and perhaps ome fresh name suggestions. Middle name will likely be [name]James[/name] or [name]Jack[/name].
[name]Weston[/name]: [name]Will[/name] this age well? Does it sound like I’m trying too hard to be trendy? Husband is worried about the hotel chain association.
[name]Emmett[/name]: I hate that his nickname will likely be [name]Em[/name]. I would really have to try to push for Mett. I’m also concerned that it sounds a little girly. I would tottaly consider naming my daughter [name]Emmett[/name].
[name]Everett[/name]: A lttle clunky. When I say the name to people they usually have to ask me to repeat it- not a good sign!
[name]Oliver[/name]: Too common and ordinary, especially with a middle like [name]James[/name]?
Husband much prefers name like [name]Zachary[/name], [name]Benjamin[/name], and [name]Cole[/name]. I like these but they are just not “right”!
Well, when you mentioned the name [name]Weston[/name], I didn’t even think of the hotel chain. That’s a good sign. In all honesty it is not a bad association either. I don’t think [name]Weston[/name] is overly trendy either because it has been in use since the 1880s. If it had just popped into the top 1000 in 2002 then I would consider it trendy. If you love it, go for it!
I would never use [name]Emmett[/name] on a girl, it is all boy to m.
[name]Everett[/name] is more common where I live, and most people are pretty familiar with it. I like it.
[name]Oliver[/name] is too trendy and common for my taste.
I really like [name]Benjamin[/name] and [name]Cole[/name]. [name]Love[/name] [name]Cole[/name] actually.
I get the impression that you like names which are grounded and familiar, but not common, yes?
I really like [name]Weston[/name], but I’m English so I’m not sure about associations. I don’t think it comes across as all that trendy, I think it definitely has a sophisticated element and I can see it ageing well. [name]Emmett[/name] and [name]Everett[/name] are lovely, probably my favourites there. I’m surprised more people aren’t familiar with [name]Everett[/name] actually. I don’t see [name]Emmett[/name] as remotely girly, but my only reservation with it is the possibility of the nickname [name]Mitt[/name] ([name]Romney[/name]). [name]Everett[/name] though, I see no problems with, and it can easily be shortened to [name]Rhett[/name] or even [name]Evan[/name] to make it more accessible to those confused by it.
[name]Everett[/name] [name]James[/name] would be my top choice. You might also like: [name]Bennett[/name], [name]Emerson[/name] (similar to [name]Emmett[/name], but more manly sounding I think and comes with nicknames like [name]Mercer[/name] or [name]Sonny[/name]), [name]Lincoln[/name], [name]Merritt[/name], [name]Forest[/name], [name]Beckett[/name], [name]Fletcher[/name], [name]Owen[/name] or [name]Edmund[/name].
I really love [name]Weston[/name] from your choices! Or, here are a few others with the same feel.
[name]Easton[/name]- Going with the E thing, and my friend just named her boy [name]Easton[/name], and I love it!
[name]Emerson[/name]
[name]Eamon[/name]
[name]Elliott[/name]
[name]Ellison[/name]
[name]Ellington[/name]
[name]Evan[/name]
[name]Fenton[/name]
[name]Benton[/name]
[name]Braden[/name]/[name]Brayden[/name]
[name]Greyson[/name]
[name]Bryson[/name]
[name]Ashton[/name]
[name]Braxton[/name]
[name]Clayton[/name]
[name]Dalton[/name]
[name]Dayton[/name]
[name]Dawson[/name]
[name]Colton[/name] (another version of [name]Cole[/name] that your DH likes)
[name]Warren[/name]
[name]Wesley[/name]
[name]Wendall[/name]
I like [name]Weston[/name] and the nickname [name]West[/name]. [name]Weston[/name] reminds me of [name]Westley[/name] and [name]Walker[/name]. I like [name]Emmett[/name] and [name]Everett[/name] too. I don’t think [name]Everett[/name] sounds clunky but maybe it’s because I am used to it. Maybe folks just aren’t familiar with the name or heard you wrong if you had to repeat it. I know several little boy’s named [name]Emmett[/name] and think it’s a great name for a guy. [name]Oliver[/name] [name]James[/name] is super adorable. I don’t know any Olivers so it doesn’t seem popular to me.
I didn’t think of the hotel chain. I know a [name]Weston[/name] & it never crossed my mind! To me [name]Weston[/name] feels preppy & cowboyish at the same time like [name]Brooks[/name]. I like both but the aren’t my style…I love [name]Oliver[/name] & [name]Benjamin[/name] and that classic vibe.
[name]Emmet[/name] & [name]Everett[/name] both have that “could be stolen by the girls” feel with their similarity to [name]Eve[/name] names, [name]Em[/name] names & -ette names. That doesn’t appeal to me.
The [name]Weston[/name] that I know is really adorable so that makes me like it even more! [name]Weston[/name] [name]James[/name] sounds so great together!
Well, for me, [name]Weston[/name] was in a fight with [name]Avery[/name] for my top choice if we have another boy. In the end, we choose [name]Avery[/name], but [name]Weston[/name] will more than likely be used if we happen to get 3 boys! [name]Weston[/name] is a strong name, and attractive name and I didn’t think of the hotel association either, until I saw it mentioned on an old post, and I’d been considering [name]Weston[/name] for a few moths. [name]Wes[/name]/[name]West[/name] are great nickname options and [name]Weston[/name] [name]James[/name] or [name]Weston[/name] [name]Jack[/name] are both great together. I considering both of those middles as well! I think you should go for it!
I also like [name]Everett[/name], personally more for a middle name. I don’t care much for [name]Emmett[/name] or [name]Oliver[/name] personally. I think [name]Weston[/name] [name]James[/name]/[name]Jack[/name] or [name]Everett[/name] [name]James[/name]/[name]Jack[/name] would both be great choices! But I’m definitely biased for [name]Weston[/name]. (I like [name]Weston[/name] [name]Jude[/name]. ) Good luck!
I like [name]Weston[/name] a lot! I never thought of the hotel chain but maybe because it is spelled [name]Westin[/name] (I think) so it never registered for me…that and there is a major road in my city called [name]Weston[/name], so that was my first association and the reason we couldn’t consider it.
I think [name]Weston[/name] ages well and I didn’t think of [name]Weston[/name] hotel chain… I would choose [name]Weston[/name] or [name]Zachary[/name] from his list.
