This spelling makes more sense with the way I pronounce it but would it cause confusion?
if where I think you live is correct, probably it would. how are you pronouncing it, out of curiosity ?? I can’t imagine a way that would make more sense

The beginning is kind of an blend between ay & eh. There is an audio sample on Wikipedia.

I suppose I can’t speak for where you live but where I’m based (also us !) this spelling would be automatically pronounced as either eh-mer-son or ay-mer-son, and not a mix

It is down here (“down here”, yes, i live further south than you in hawai’i :]) too, but this is how i say it. I have a weird blended accent and that is just what is easiest to me.

you’re at liberty to pronounce it any way you like— I’m just trying to gauge how helpful this spelling would be to getting that pronunciation :)
honestly, I can’t say I’m a fan. it seems unnecessary to have an accent over the e, particularly in a country where they’re so uncommon !!

this spelling seems a bit redundant. it makes more sense to just spell it normally & pronounce it like you naturally do.

I don’t like that it’s an [name_f]English[/name_f] name with a letter that doesn’t exist in [name_f]English[/name_f]. I think it would be confusing

I think it would be a bit confusing - I’d spell it [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] and just let people know how you’re pronouncing it
