What about the name Tula?

I have asked this before, but it has been awhile. My husband loves the name [name]Tula[/name], I am starting to like it more and would be okay using it as a first name. That said, the combo would probably be [name]Tula[/name] [name]Emery[/name] K. First, what are your thoughts on this combo? Other options could be [name]Tula[/name] [name]Nicole[/name] K. or [name]Tula[/name] [name]Claire[/name] K. Second, what would you name a sibling to [name]Tula[/name]? Thank you so much for your help with this!

I think [name]Tula[/name] would be a cute nn for another name like [name]Tallulah[/name] or [name]Tulip[/name]. I just don’t think that [name]Tula[/name] on its one has enough character.

[name]Tula[/name] [name]Claire[/name] K. is the prettiest to me. [name]Nicole[/name] feels dated and I’m not a fan of [name]Emery[/name]. Some siblings for [name]Tula[/name] could be [name]Aubrey[/name], [name]Elea[/name], [name]Alina[/name], [name]Juno[/name], [name]Olive[/name] or [name]Augusta[/name].
Good luck and hope I helped!

If you’ve been on here before with this question, then you know that the only time I’ve ever heard this name is on my neighbor’s dog. Her name was originally [name]Tulip[/name], but my neighbor already had a [name]Lily[/name] and didn’t want two flower names - thus, she became [name]Tula[/name]! I think it is a pretty, feminine, and sassy choice for a little girl.

I don’t care for [name]Tula[/name] [name]Emery[/name] because I don’t like the middle name to begin with a vowel when the first name ends in one - it is harder to say. [name]Tula[/name] [name]Nicole[/name] sounds fine, but [name]Nicole[/name] just sounds dated to me. I really love [name]Tula[/name] [name]Claire[/name]! If your last name is short, however, you could use [name]Tula[/name] [name]Clarice[/name] as an alternative.

As for siblings, that is tough! For girls, I’d go with short, feminine names that are unusual but not weird. For boys, I’d go with masculine or unisex (masculine) names that are short and strong, perhaps even surnames.

[name]Agnes[/name]
[name]Calla[/name]
[name]Daphne[/name]
[name]Helen[/name]
[name]Phoebe[/name]
[name]Zoe[/name]

[name]Avril[/name]
[name]Camille[/name]
[name]Cecile[/name]
[name]Celine[/name]
[name]Elise[/name]
[name]Estee[/name]
[name]Helene[/name]
[name]Lenore[/name]
[name]Mathilde[/name]
[name]Simone[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name]

[name]Alice[/name]
[name]Arwen[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name]
[name]Hazel[/name]
[name]Laurel[/name]
[name]Mercy[/name]
[name]Nell[/name]
[name]Olive[/name]

Tell me if you like any of those for siblings and I’ll give you boy names. I’m out of time right now! Best of luck.

I was in the hairdressers reading a magazine yesterday and an english magazine featured a twenty-something y.o. names Teula,an interesting variation of [name]Tula[/name].I quite liked it when I read it.

[name]Tulla[/name] is cute but it sounds more like a nn, again, [name]Tallulah[/name] would be a good choice for a first name, if you want that nickname.

I like all three middle names, but I think [name]Tula[/name] would be better as a nickname for [name]Tallulah[/name] or Teula (I don’t like [name]Tulip[/name]). I also thought of Telia, just throwing that out there!
I also like the mn combo of [name]Tula[/name]/[name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Florence[/name] or [name]Giselle[/name]–on that same train of thought, I like the name [name]Flora[/name] as a sibling for [name]Tula[/name]. Good luck!

Growing up, I had a dog named [name]Tula[/name], and I find adorable, but it is all dog to me.

I’ve known three girls / ladies named [name]Toula[/name] and they were all Greek. I got the impression it was a popular name amongst the Greek community in my city but have never heard it anywhere else. I think it’s a lovely name, however you spell it.

I am very curious to know what you decided to name her. I’m expecting a little girl in 8 weeks (!!!) who will be named [name]Tula[/name] [name]Clare[/name]. My husband wasn’t a fan of [name]Tula[/name] at first and wanted [name]Clare[/name] to be her fist name but to me (and nearly everyone else) [name]Clare[/name] [name]Tula[/name] did not sound right. We plan on calling her [name]Clare[/name], although my side of the family will probably call her [name]Tula[/name]-[name]Clare[/name] because ‘[name]Tula[/name] [name]Lee[/name]’ was my great-great-grandmother’s name. We picked [name]Clare[/name], for County [name]Clare[/name], [name]Ireland[/name], where part of my family immigrated from. [name]Tulla[/name] (notice the extra L) is also a village in County [name]Clare[/name]. We almost went with [name]Tulla[/name] [name]Clare[/name] instead but decided to stay traditional with [name]Tula[/name].

Our little miss [name]Tula[/name] [name]Clare[/name] has a big brother, [name]Kael[/name] O’[name]Neal[/name]. Our families weren’t really keen on “[name]Kael[/name]” at first either, but once he got here and they started using his name it fit him perfectly. We wanted out kids names to have the same # of syllables to sound good with our last name and O’[name]Neal[/name] and [name]Tula[/name] are both family names.

names we have considered to go with [name]Tula[/name] (and our [name]Kael[/name]) were:
boys:
[name]Finn[/name]
[name]Seamus[/name]
[name]Connor[/name]
Connley
[name]Ian[/name]

girls:
[name]Brenna[/name]
Graine (Grah-nya)
[name]Maeve[/name]
[name]Isla[/name]

Makes me think of the name [name]Toula[/name] and I don’t like that so I would have to say I am not a fan

Much prefer [name]Lula[/name]

I don’t think [name]Tula[/name] sounds like a nickname; I’ve never heard it as a nickname, only as a full name.

Well my name is [name_f]Tula[/name_f] and i love it, because it’s different and i don’t know anyone else who has it, although my first name is [name_f]Tula[/name_f] [name_f]Moon[/name_f]. I think its a good choice. There is also a Hindu goddess named [name_f]Tula[/name_f] too! Although your post was in 2009 i hope that if anyone reads this they might like the name.

I like the name [name_f]Tula[/name_f]… I really do.
it is a short sweet name very reminscent of Tulullah.

A little cutesy for my liking but definitely usable
