What are Names That You Hate?! (But everyone else loves?)

I hate the name [name_f]Olga[/name_f]…

Theodore…I wish I could like it. [name_u]Theo[/name_u] itself is kinda cute, though.

Beatrice…
I can’t unsee beat rice. I first saw the name in the 39 Clues and that’s how I pronounced it.

Charlotte…
That lawt sound doesn’t sound right, and with its newfound popularity, I think this could be like a future [name_f]Amanda[/name_f]; an old name that becomes popular, then people think it’s dated.

Beat rice! haha!

I absolutely cannot stand double barrelled first names. I live in the [name_u]North[/name_u] of [name_f]England[/name_f] and there seems to be a trend here to double barrel girl’s names. They are so common now. Usually they end in [name_f]Mae[/name_f] or [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. Some examples:

Ellie-[name_f]Mae[/name_f]
[name_f]Millie[/name_f]-[name_f]Mae[/name_f]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f]-[name_f]Mae[/name_f]
[name_f]Isla[/name_f]-[name_f]Mae[/name_f]
[name_f]Ava[/name_f]-[name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f]-[name_f]Grace[/name_f]

You get the gist. I just think it’s trash!!

Yeah I don’t like those either, but I like double barrelled middle names!

(My name would be Paige, I’ve met to many that I lost my love for it. But nothing against anyone named Paige but it’s just overused in my opinion)

Anais, [name_f]Annalise[/name_f] or anything similar reminds me of the word ‘anal’ ‘anus’ etc

Violet is too close to ‘violent’

Hate is too strong of a word. I don’t want to discourage anyone else from using these names!

[name_f]Marjorie[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f], [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f].
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m], [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m], [name_u]Laurence[/name_u], [name_m]Harrison[/name_m].

@MG1257 A few of those names are on my list, but someone else’s dislike (or hatred) of them won’t stop me from using them (except my SO’s) when the time comes. [name_m]Just[/name_m] as my extreme discomfort with names on my “not gonna happen in a million years” list shouldn’t affect anyone else’s choice to use those names.

I agree with you on [name_f]Marjorie[/name_f], [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]/ [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f], and [name_u]Laurence[/name_u].
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] is my brothers name but goes by [name_u]Theo[/name_u], other than that I like [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] as long as it’s without the nn [name_m]Seb[/name_m], and I like [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] (kind of) and [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] is growing on me

@Lexieday831 I’m with you on the nn Seb for Sebastian. I prefer Baz or Bay.

Haha, I never thought the nn [name_u]Bay[/name_u]! I like it!

I really dislike [name_u]Jordan[/name_u], [name_f]Emily[/name_f] and [name_f]Paige[/name_f] so much but have met many girls of all ages with this name! I also am not a fan of [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] but people seem to love it.

Also, names with win/wyn, [name_f]Winifred[/name_f], and [name_f]Winnie[/name_f].

Emily (my name) or anything like it: Emma, Emmy, Emilia, etc. I just don’t like the sound of it and can’t stand how common it is. I can appreciate it a little more now that I’m older, and I see why people like it, I just don’t myself.
