Looking for modern nicknames for [name_f]Susanne[/name_f].
Tried [name_f]Susie[/name_f] and Suz, not much of a fan. Also definitely not a fan of [name_f]Sue[/name_f] or [name_f]Susie[/name_f] Q.
Essentially, we’re looking for nicknames that can be used in daily life (school, later work, etc) that are a shortening of [name_f]Susanne[/name_f] and are fresh and modern.
Other ideas include [name_u]Sammy[/name_u]/[name_u]Sammi[/name_u]/[name_u]Sami[/name_u], [name_f]Sadie[/name_f], [name_f]Sarah[/name_f], [name_f]Anna[/name_f], [name_f]Annie[/name_f], [name_f]Anne[/name_f]- so suggestions along these lines are greatly appreciated.
[name_m]How[/name_m] do you get [name_u]Sammy[/name_u], [name_f]Sadie[/name_f], or [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] from [name_f]Susanne[/name_f]? They’re not related to the name and come from nowhere in the name.
[name_f]Sanna[/name_f]
San
[name_f]Zanna[/name_f]
[name_m]Zan[/name_m]
[name_f]Sukie[/name_f]
I quite like [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] - which I think works well & is a bit different. Also really like [name_f]Annie[/name_f] which you mentioned already.
I agree with [name_f]Suki[/name_f], [name_f]Sanna[/name_f], and [name_u]Sunny[/name_u]. I’ve learned I’m a bit more adventurous and flexible with my picks for nicknames than most, but I think your [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] actually works.
Shushah ([name_f]Xuxa[/name_f])
[name_m]Zane[/name_m]
Usagi (“rabbit” in Japanese, I believe - also the main character in [name_u]Sailor[/name_u] [name_f]Moon[/name_f])
[name_f]Lily[/name_f] / [name_f]Lilie[/name_f] (the meaning)
[name_f]Lilia[/name_f]
[name_m]How[/name_m] do you get [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] from [name_f]Sarah[/name_f], or [name_m]Dick[/name_m] from [name_m]Richard[/name_m], or [name_f]Peggy[/name_f] from [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]? They’re not related to the name and come from nowhere in the name, and with the exception of [name_f]Sadie[/name_f]-[name_f]Sarah[/name_f], none of them even start with the same letters. They’re just nicknames, not everyone knows where they come from.
[name_f]Annie[/name_f] is my favorite followed by [name_u]Sunny[/name_u]. FWIW, I think you’re limited with nicknames when it comes to [name_f]Susanne[/name_f] and I think [name_u]Sam[/name_u], [name_u]Sammy[/name_u], [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] and [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] are total stretches and do not work for [name_f]Susanne[/name_f]. However — if you are willing to stretch it, [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is the meaning of [name_f]Susanne[/name_f].
I was going to suggest [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] & [name_f]Lily[/name_f] which have already been suggested. I honestly don’t think meaning nicknames are that far of a stretch.
