What are some "usable" ancient Greek or Roman mythology names?

I love ancient mythology, especially all the wonderful names, but I don’t find a lot of them usable for modern society. For example I love the sound of the name [name]Pan[/name], however because of the association from the mythological character and the whole peterpan thing I do not find it usable.

[name]Do[/name] you know of any that would stand out but still be usable?

Ares
[name]Diana[/name]
[name]Hera[/name]
[name]Persephone[/name]
[name]Juno[/name]
[name]Poseidon[/name]

I’d say [name]Hestia[/name], [name]Atalanta[/name], [name]Helen[/name] (of Sparta, as well as her daughter [name]Hermione[/name]) & [name]Athena[/name] are also usable - as well as [name]Theseus[/name] & [name]Perseus[/name]!

Several of the above, as well as [name]Minerva[/name] and [name]Selene[/name].

girls:[name]Persephone[/name], [name]Clio[/name], [name]Juno[/name], [name]Artemis[/name], [name]Atalanta[/name], [name]Thalia[/name], [name]Hermione[/name], [name]Ariadne[/name], [name]Cassia[/name], [name]Athena[/name], [name]Calypso[/name], [name]Calliope[/name], [name]Echo[/name], [name]Iris[/name], Bellona, and Istra
boys:[name]Perseus[/name], [name]Theseus[/name], [name]Achilles[/name] (always like this for some weird reason), [name]Zephyr[/name], [name]Castor[/name], [name]Apollo[/name], [name]Phineas[/name], and Triton

All seem usable to me!

girls: [name]Iris[/name], [name]Minerva[/name], [name]Athena[/name], [name]Aurora[/name], [name]Zephirine[/name], Hesperia, [name]Demetria[/name], [name]Artemesia[/name], [name]Phoebe[/name], [name]Selene[/name], [name]Ariadne[/name], Arachne.
boys: [name]Demetrius[/name], [name]Leander[/name], [name]Pallas[/name], [name]Leonidas[/name], [name]Ulysses[/name], Phaeton.

This is a pretty short and relatively obscure list but these are the figures I would find most usable and appealing for myself. Phaeton was about as tragic as I was willing to go. Nobody who baked their own kids in a pie, turned into a waterfall from endless crying, etc.

My favorite “ancient” roman and greek names are ariadne and phaedra. phaedra in particular because you can use the nickname Phae.

I kind of love that you called her [name_f]Helen[/name_f] of Sparta instead of [name_f]Helen[/name_f] of [name_m]Troy[/name_m]

I want to name one of my sons [name_m]Hector[/name_m] Menelaus, and I want my first son to have the middle name [name_u]Orion[/name_u]

[name_f]Cassandra[/name_f] is a very usable mythology name

Ones that are generally usable: [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f], [name_f]Calliope[/name_f], [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f], [name_f]Clio[/name_f], [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], [name_f]Delia[/name_f], [name_f]Helen[/name_f], [name_f]Hermione[/name_f], [name_f]Irene[/name_f], [name_f]Iris[/name_f], [name_f]Maia[/name_f], [name_f]Melia[/name_f], [name_f]Olympia[/name_f], [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], [name_f]Persephone[/name_f], [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u], [name_f]Rhea[/name_f], [name_f]Selene[/name_f], [name_f]Thalia[/name_f], [name_f]Thea[/name_f], [name_f]Zoe[/name_f]
[name_m]Ajax[/name_m], [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], [name_m]Atticus[/name_m], [name_m]Demetrius[/name_m], [name_m]Hector[/name_m], [name_m]Leon[/name_m], [name_u]Orion[/name_u], [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u], [name_u]Theo[/name_u], [name_u]Zephyr[/name_u]

Maybe wearable: [name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f], [name_f]Althea[/name_f], [name_u]Artemis[/name_u], [name_f]Athena[/name_f], [name_f]Callisto[/name_f]/[name_f]Callista[/name_f], [name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f], [name_u]Echo[/name_u], [name_f]Electra[/name_f], [name_u]Dana[/name_u]ë, [name_f]Gaia[/name_f], [name_f]Hyacinth[/name_f], [name_f]Io[/name_f], [name_f]Iolanthe[/name_f], [name_f]Ione[/name_f], [name_f]Phaedra[/name_f], [name_f]Philomena[/name_f], [name_f]Phyllis[/name_f], [name_f]Theodosia[/name_f], [name_f]Thisbe[/name_f], [name_f]Xanthe[/name_f]
[name_m]Aeneas[/name_m], [name_u]Alexios[/name_u], [name_m]Castor[/name_m], [name_m]Cosmo[/name_m], [name_m]Isidore[/name_m], [name_m]Leander[/name_m], [name_m]Leonidas[/name_m], [name_m]Linus[/name_m], [name_m]Lysander[/name_m], Minos, [name_m]Nestor[/name_m], [name_m]Perseus[/name_m], [name_m]Pluto[/name_m]

I’d use (but I suspect I’d get some negative reactions): [name_f]Andromeda[/name_f], [name_f]Antigone[/name_f], [name_f]Atalanta[/name_f], [name_f]Cressida[/name_f], [name_f]Galatea[/name_f], [name_f]Iphigenia[/name_f], [name_f]Ismene[/name_f], [name_f]Niobe[/name_f], Orithyia, [name_m]Orestes[/name_m], [name_m]Orpheus[/name_m], [name_f]Pandora[/name_f], Polyxena

ETA: didn’t see this was from 2012. Oh well!
