A good friend of mine recently gave birth to a baby girl named [name]Evelyn[/name] nn [name]Evie[/name].
I’m pregnant but I don’t know the sex of the baby. When I heard this name, I immediately fell in [name]LOVE[/name] with the idea of choosing a name more commonly found on grandparents, but with a very usable nickname. I’ve looked under the “antique names ready for restoration” section, as well as “old lady cool names” name lists, and found a few I really like.
What are your favorites? I really want to hear what “older” names/nicknames you guys like so I can get some ideas while still keeping possible name ideas a surprise to friends/family.
[name]Do[/name] you have any children, friends, relatives with these kinds of names?
I need boys and girls names. Any suggestions would be great!
older names are personally my favorite, but i am better with the girl ones

My dd’s name is certainly [name]Ol[/name]'School and has the more ‘hip’ nn. [name]Jocelyn[/name]. Once used strickly for men, it’s now all-girl. So, obviously this is my fave… that’s why we chose it.
[name]Livia[/name]. If I’m not mistaken, [name]Livia[/name]'s been around a lot longer than [name]Olivia[/name]? And, I like the nn [name]Liv[/name].
Antique names in general aren’t my style, but Those two I really do love (;
What a great topic! I love vintage names.

Sorry I can’t think of more right now. Rather brain dead, I’ve been awake since 5 am!
I had a 10 yr old patient today named [name]Nancy[/name] [name]Maude[/name]. At first I thought - what! That is an old lady name on a kid!! But she goes by [name]Maude[/name] and after hearing her Mom say the name a couple times it (oddly) really grew on me! I think that [name]Mabel[/name] is another old lady name with possibilities.
Thanks for all the great names!

As you can see I have a TON of girls names I love, but I’m really struggling on the boys side. [name]Just[/name] wondering… for future siblings, is it ok to mix vintage names with more modern names or will it sound odd? What are your top few favorites out of this list? I really need some help!
I love [name]Lawrence[/name] for a boy. [name]Lura[/name] [name]May[/name] was my grandmother’s name and I think it’s very beautiful, but could get mispronounced as [name]Laura[/name].
