[name]Isabelle[/name]. I love its femininity, without being too frilly, I love that it’s French (my best friend was French, and passed away a little over a year ago, so it’s sort of a nod to her), I love that it sort of relates to the story of when [name]Mary[/name] visited [name]Elizabeth[/name] while they were both pregnant and [name]John[/name] jumped in [name]Elizabeth[/name]'s womb because even then he could sense that [name]Jesus[/name] was there. I love the option of the nn [name]Belle[/name]/[name]Bella[/name], which mean “beautiful”. I love that it’s familiar, but not as overdone as [name]Isabella[/name] (which I’m really starting to miss on my list! I used to adore [name]Isabella[/name].).
[name]Arianne[/name]. I love that it means “very holy one.” I love the nn [name]Ari[/name]. I love that it’s also French, and pairs really well with [name]Isabelle[/name]. I love the way [name]Arianne[/name] sounds on my tongue, too. I just really love [name]Isabelle[/name] and [name]Arianne[/name] together.
[name]Olivia[/name]. I love the nns [name]Olive[/name] and [name]Liv[/name]/[name]Livy[/name]. I love the olive branch/peace symbolism with the name, the fact that the meaning has to do with elves (and can thus be a connection to [name]Christmas[/name]–my sister and I both have [name]Christmas[/name] names, so I like that that would connect [name]Olivia[/name] to [name]Christmas[/name], too). I love the connection to [name]Shakespeare[/name]–Twelfth [name]Night[/name] is my favorite Shakespearean play. And I just love the idea of [name]Isabelle[/name], [name]Arianne[/name], and [name]Olivia[/name] for three sisters, I think they’re perfect together. I have for years, and my mind hasn’t changed one bit.
[name]Violet[/name]. I love it because both my grandmother’s and my favorite color is purple, and violets are the birth flower of my dad and other grandmother. Violets are some of my favorite flowers. I think they’re beautiful. And I think the name [name]Violet[/name] is just so dainty and pretty and charming, I would love to have a [name]Violet[/name] one day!
[name]Rachel[/name]. I’ve just always loved [name]Rachel[/name], I don’t know why.
I always liked the story of [name]Jacob[/name] and [name]Leah[/name] and [name]Rachel[/name] in the Bible, and I think [name]Rachel[/name] is very pretty with my other favorites. I know it’s sort of dated, but I still love it.
[name]Liliana[/name]. I used to just love it because I loved how feminine and frilly it was. But it also honors both my grandmothers, so I love it for that reason, too. And lilies are my very favorite flower, so I love it for that, too. I love a lot of flower names, I think it’s partially because my earliest memories of my mom were of her in her gardens, so flower names make me all nostalgic.
[name]Charlotte[/name]. I don’t really remember why I fell for it, but I’ve loved it for a long time now. I love the nn versatility, and my mom always wanted a son named [name]Charlie[/name] but never was able to have one, so I like that this is the feminine variant. It’s so lush and feminine while being understated, too.
[name]Hannah[/name]. I love the character of [name]Hannah[/name] in the Bible, and I love that this means the same thing as my grandmother’s MN ([name]Grace[/name]). I just love [name]Hannah[/name]. It’s so sweet and classic.
[name]Eleni[/name]. [name]Eleni[/name]'s the odd ball on my list, haha, she doesn’t really fit anywhere, but I love the nn [name]Leni[/name] and I like that it honors my sister since her MN is a variant of [name]Eleni[/name]/[name]Helen[/name]. I love how Mediterranean/Greek [name]Eleni[/name] is, too.
And I’m torn for number 10 on my list. It’d be one of these:
[name]Anne[/name]-[name]Sophie[/name]. I love how French-chic it is, and I just love saying [name]Anne[/name]-[name]Sophie[/name]! I love the two names together, and I love the nn options of [name]Annie[/name], [name]Sophie[/name], or just [name]Soph[/name]. I love that [name]Anne[/name], again, could honor my grandma.
[name]Catherine[/name]. I love that this is also a royal name, an [name]Austen[/name] name, a true and complete classic. Besides, my mom’s name is a variant of [name]Catherine[/name], my great aunt’s name is, too, and my great-grandmother’s name was [name]Katherine[/name]. I love the nn [name]Kit[/name], too. And [name]Cate[/name].
[name]Eva[/name]. I love how short and sweet it is. I love that it means “life”, and I love the nn [name]Evie[/name]. I didn’t used to love it, but lately it’s been growing on me. It feels very classic to me, too, and charming. I’ve met quite a few lovely Evas of all ages lately, too, which hasn’t hurt.
[name]Tess[/name]. It’s quite different from my other favorites, but I think it still fits reasonably well. I love that it means “harvester”–it has a lot of lovely Biblical symbolism there, and a great Bible verse I can put on her nursery wall.
It’s short and fiery and sweet all in one. Plus, my grandma had an Aunt [name]Theresa[/name], who I hear was pretty lovely, so it’d be nice to have a connection to her family, even though I never knew [name]Theresa[/name].
[name]Wren[/name]. I like it because it honors both my grandma and mom, and yet, it’s feminine without being frilly, respectable, classy, and yet has a little je ne sais quoi… I really love it.
