What are your favorite names within your family?

The other day I was sitting around thinking about the names in my family, including cousins and great aunts & uncles, and I realized there are some names in my family that I absolutely love! I would have to say that my Mema (grandma) and her sisters have amazing names. They are…

[name]Cleo[/name] [name]Ester[/name]/[name]Esther[/name] (I can never remember which way it’s spelled)
[name]Celine[/name] [name]Victoria[/name]
Deluvine [name]Beatrice[/name]
[name]Clara[/name] [name]Miguela[/name]

I would have to say my favorite out of the 4 is my Great-Aunt Deluvine because I can honestly say I have NEVER met another Deluvine besides her and I’m surprised because I think it’s such a beautiful name.

What names in your family do you just absolutely love?

Most of the names in my family are pretty plain, but that’s the exact type of names I seem to love, so:

[name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Claire[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] - while I don’t especially love them together, they are still both great names!
[name]Raymond[/name] [name]Owen[/name] - SO gorgeous.
[name]Holly[/name]
[name]Brooke[/name]

These are all the names I [name]LOVE[/name] in the family, and I think with the exception of [name]Brooke[/name] I’ve considered using each one of them on my own future children!

My favorites in my family are [name]Ryan[/name], [name]Colin[/name], and [name]Alexandria[/name].

[name]LOVE[/name] [name]Alice[/name], the name of my great-grandma! definetly a middle for a future kid! Other wise my family doesn’t have very interesting names, but some include
[name]Isabella[/name] [name]Chiara[/name] ([name]Chiara[/name])
[name]Gerard[/name] [name]Aloysius[/name] ([name]Jerry[/name]/ [name]Gerard[/name])
[name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Palmira[/name] ([name]Lizzie[/name])

[name]Palmira[/name] and [name]Alice[/name] are my favorites

Each branch of my family is pretty different, so it makes for some names that i really love!

I love my a few of my cousins’ names like [name]Ryan[/name], [name]Erin[/name], [name]Alix[/name] (i really just like the way she spells it)…I have a few older relatives named [name]Mary[/name], and one [name]Rosemary[/name], who passed away recently. I have a great-aunt or something named [name]Valley[/name], so that’s cool:)

My favorite names come from my father’s side of the family…his dad immigrated from [name]Italy[/name], so I have favorites like [name]Luca[/name], [name]Lorenzo[/name], [name]Lia[/name], [name]Viggo[/name], [name]Natalino[/name] (grandpa’s name…we call him [name]Nate[/name] though), [name]Maria[/name], [name]Rocco[/name], [name]Lucia[/name], [name]Anna[/name], and my grandpa’s brother passed away, and his name started with a V…i think something like [name]Vincenzo[/name] or something…i really liked it though!

Unfortunately, if i were to use most of these names, it would cause a feud with my mother’s side…so we’ll see:)

My grandma is [name]Arlene[/name], named after her brother [name]Arlen[/name]. I’m not crazy about [name]Arlene[/name] but I love [name]Arlene[/name].
Other gens are: [name]Abel[/name], Obel, [name]Burly[/name], W.C. (all my maternal grandmother’s brothers) and then [name]Olive[/name] and [name]Cuba[/name] (my paternal great grandmother’s sisters).

cousins: [name]Daniel[/name], [name]Dominick[/name] (middle name), [name]Joseph[/name] (middle name), [name]Wesley[/name] (middle name), [name]Christine[/name] (middle name), [name]Amelia[/name], [name]Mae[/name] (middle name), [name]Nicholas[/name], [name]Madeline[/name], [name]Mary[/name], [name]Wade[/name], [name]Jada[/name]…we don’t have any excellent ones really

[name]Bell[/name] Gallant

…seriously, ancestors, why must you be so awesome?

[name]Kathleen[/name], [name]Viola[/name], [name]Carolina[/name] ("[name]Carrie[/name]"), and [name]Hilda[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] are names in my family that are intriguing to me. Can’t/wouldn’t use them for various reasons.

I also had a female ancestor named [name]Fidelis[/name] (“Fuh [name]DAY[/name] lus”), of [name]German[/name] descent. Weird.

My step-great-great-grandmother was named [name]Selma[/name], I love that name. Then there is [name]Laura[/name], [name]Christian[/name], [name]Anna[/name], Asger and [name]Louis[/name].

[name]Nunzio[/name]
[name]Antoinette[/name]
[name]Marina[/name]
[name]Angelina[/name]
[name]Franny[/name]
[name]Marjorie[/name]
[name]Simon[/name]
Pascalina
[name]Josephine[/name]
[name]John[/name] [name]Joseph[/name]
[name]Frank[/name]
[name]Angelo[/name]
[name]Anthony[/name]
[name]Antonio[/name]
[name]Antonella[/name]
[name]Janine[/name]

In laws
[name]Georgia[/name]
[name]Nina[/name]
[name]Irena[/name]
[name]Elena[/name]
[name]Boris[/name]
[name]Anya[/name]
[name]Constantin[/name]

[name]Franz[/name] [name]Wilhelm[/name] is pretty cool for a Norwegian guy, he was my great-great-grandfather.
[name]Lydia[/name] was my great-grandmother, it’s never been a vary popular name in Norway, only the first name of about 500 women! About 15-20 more are born each year, last year it was 21.
[name]Abigael[/name] was my great-great-grandmother, today there are only 22 alive, and it is not being used at all, it’s seen as too foreign and hard to say. (Norwegian pronunciation is uh-[name]BEE[/name]-gah-ell).
Bolette is my grandmother’s middle name, she hates it and it’s still considered very unfashionable. It’s a form of very common, but dated name Bodil, again a form of the older Bothild. I don’t really like it myself (nor [name]Abigael[/name]) but I like that it’s in my family.
Bodvar was my grandfather’s name, there are only 58 alive today, and very few people have heard about it. My sister wants to use it if she has a son, along with [name]Casimir[/name] and [name]Walter[/name], so she’s officially as quirky a namer as I am ^^

My 3rd cousin’s name is [name]Anna[/name] [name]Vera[/name], I think that name is pretty.

My grandmother’s name, [name]Virginia[/name]. My husband’s name, [name]Charlie[/name]. Husband’s great-great grandmother, [name]Anna[/name].

[name]Both[/name] sides of my family that are traceable have an excellent taste in names. Besides having my all time favorite names, here are some of the best:

Ladies:
[name]Flora[/name] [name]Louise[/name]
[name]Minerva[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name]
[name]Violet[/name] [name]Mary[/name]
[name]Frances[/name] [name]Cordelia[/name]
[name]Lillian[/name] [name]Eva[/name]
[name]Alice[/name] [name]Matilda[/name]
[name]Mabel[/name] [name]Etta[/name]
[name]Margaret[/name] [name]Florence[/name]

Gentlemen - most are the lovely [name]Henry[/name], [name]James[/name], [name]Charles[/name], [name]William[/name], [name]John[/name], and [name]Frederick[/name], but [name]Arthur[/name] [name]Leo[/name] is absolutely brilliant in my opinion.

My family doesn’t have a very wide variety of names…[name]Amanda[/name], [name]Austin[/name], [name]Tyler[/name], [name]Ashley[/name], [name]Brandon[/name], [name]Justin[/name], [name]Nicholas[/name], [name]Matthew[/name], [name]Courtney[/name], [name]Christopher[/name]…Those are all my cousins. I suppose my favorite would be [name]Lillie[/name], which is my grandma’s name, but I much prefer [name]Lily[/name] or [name]Lilly[/name]. As for boys, the only names I really see any potential in are [name]Austin[/name] and [name]Tyler[/name], but those are both of my brothers. So.

I think the only family name I really like is [name]Benjamin[/name].

Most of the names in my family are either boring or trendy or both: [name]Hailey[/name], [name]Cassidy[/name], [name]Kaitlyn[/name], [name]Alvin[/name], [name]Bruce[/name], [name]Jennifer[/name], etc.

I had a great aunt named Esto. That’s pretty rad.

My [name]MIL[/name] is [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name], which I think is classic and nice. She goes by [name]Sue[/name]

I have three brothers: [name]Justin[/name], [name]Eric[/name], and [name]Cody[/name]. I like [name]Eric[/name] a lot, tho I wouldn’t tell the other two.

I love my niece’s name: [name]Ana[/name]. It’s so simple and pretty, and kinda unexpected on a white kid.

My great aunts and uncles have some cool names: [name]Betty[/name] [name]Sue[/name], [name]Galen[/name], [name]Langston[/name], and then [name]Major[/name] and [name]Robbie[/name] [name]Louise[/name] who died young.

My grandpa’s name was awesome: [name]Nolan[/name].

My maternal great grandparents’ names would sound perfectly normal among [name]Brooklyn[/name] hipster babies today: [name]Claude[/name] [name]Allen[/name] and [name]Mary[/name] [name]Ann[/name].

Ditto my paternal grandmother: [name]Ida[/name].

My favourite name is [name]Florence[/name] [name]Melinda[/name], which was my great-great-grandmother’s name. I also like [name]Leta[/name], [name]Seraphina[/name], [name]Lemuel[/name], [name]Josiah[/name], and [name]Simeon[/name].

I have a cousin named [name]Rosemary[/name] - so classic and beautiful!
