What are your favourite girl names not in the top 1000?

Any country’s list :). [name_m]Just[/name_m] looking for some more obscure names to potentially add to my list.

I put a bunch in another thread that was names id never get to use. I’m not possitive that any of these are not top 1000 but i consider them unique.
Cecilee (lots of spelling variations for this one)
Gwynore
Yvalia (pronounced [name_f]Eve[/name_f]-alia)
Rhowyn (i preffer for a boy but can easily go either way. adding an n makes it look more feminine or ne.)
[name_f]Sian[/name_f] (pronounced [name_u]Shan[/name_u])
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f]

My daughter’s middle name, [name_f]Xochitl[/name_f]. It means flower in an Aztec language. The easy way to say it is [name_m]Zo[/name_m]-chee.

The ones on my list are [name_u]Wren[/name_u], [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f], [name_f]Arianne[/name_f], [name_f]Poppy[/name_f], and [name_f]Eleni[/name_f]. [name_u]Winter[/name_u] used to be on my list, although it now ranks in the 600s in the US. Also, [name_f]Anouk[/name_f], Madelief, [name_f]Mireya[/name_f] (I don’t think it’s ranked here?), [name_f]Odilia[/name_f], [name_f]Odette[/name_f], [name_f]Odile[/name_f], [name_f]Eliora[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], Laerke (Danish word for “lark”, said LAIR-keh), [name_f]Aurore[/name_f] ([name_m]French[/name_m] form of [name_f]Aurora[/name_f]), Aurélie ([name_m]French[/name_m] form of [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]), Hélène ([name_m]French[/name_m] form of [name_f]Helen[/name_f], said ay-[name_m]LEN[/name_m]), [name_f]Helene[/name_f] (Danish pronunciation, heh-[name_m]LAY[/name_m]-neh), [name_f]Ani[/name_f] (Hawaiian/Armenian name, said ah-nee), [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f], [name_f]Cosima[/name_f], [name_f]Fleur[/name_f], [name_f]Maddalena[/name_f] (Italian form of [name_f]Magdalena[/name_f]/[name_f]Magdalene[/name_f]), [name_f]Anwen[/name_f], etc. Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head, anyway.

Good luck!

I went through the list from 2013 a few months ago, but only up to position #2500 (as there are thousands of names on the US lists), and made a note then of my favorites that were outside the Top 1000.

I’ll have to second [name_u]Haley[/name_u]!

[name_f]Sybil[/name_f] (it’s definitely growing on me. Sybbie is gorgeous! (Not a fan of [name_u]Billie[/name_u] though)
[name_f]Marigold[/name_f]
[name_f]Maude[/name_f]
[name_f]Jane[/name_f] (this was kind of shocking)

I have a whole list (some of the names listed aboveare on it, but it is much longer) of names I love outside the top 1000- https://nameberry.com/userlist/view/74750

[name_m]How[/name_m] do you view past the top 1000? Is it on a site other than the SS site?

US:

[name_f]Lyra[/name_f]
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f]

[name_f]Saoirse[/name_f]
[name_f]Aoife[/name_f]

[name_f]Persephone[/name_f]

Thanks everyone! So awesome rare gems in here :D.

[name_u]Love[/name_u] love love [name_f]Xochitl[/name_f]… My only hesitation was that I wasn’t sure how to pronounce it! Beautiful, unusual and exotic.

Beyond the Top 1000 from the SSA website.

You’ll see a zip file listed called National Data, and this provides a complete list of every name used at least 5 times, so there are thousands upon thousands of names.

There is a list for every year in that zip file, from 1880 through to 2013.

You’ll need Excel or an equivalent program to open them.

You can say [name_m]Zo[/name_m]-chee. The real pronunciation is hard for English speakers. Its more like Sho-chee-cl. My fiance is Aztec so thats why his family can pronounce it.
