A pitiful list really… and i don’t know if i like any that much.
[name]Ari[/name], [name]Archie[/name], Arpi(i’ve used one so can’t really use another )
[name]Louis[/name], [name]Freddie[/name], [name]Monty[/name] (i feel that these are too common)
[name]Aubrey[/name](would only suit certain breeds, not a pom)
[name]Mischa[/name](i like this on a bigger dog)
[name]Rollo[/name] (not crazy about this one)
Peppi
[name]Miko[/name]
[name]Yani[/name]
(basically i really need a name for my future boy pom!)
And i love smooth and long haired mini dachshunds, fox faced pom’s and Cocker spaniels.
My favourite dog name is [name]Pepper[/name]! I have a two year old black Labrador named…guess what…[name]Pepper[/name]! I don’t have a list of favourite dog names or anything, but I’m sick of hearing of female dogs called [name]Nala[/name]. It’s definitely the name I’ve heard most since getting a dog and spending lots of time at the dog park. I love dogs and I love all breeds, but obviously have a soft spot for Labradors! Also, I really like [name]Golden[/name] Retrievers (would’ve got one if they didn’t shed so much) and Kelpies. I tend to prefer larger dogs, but little ones are cute, too!
I love love loveee greek mythology but I couldn’t really imagine naming my kids after gods/goddess (let alone talk the boyfriend into it) sooo I like using those names for my animals.
I have a border collie named [name]Athena[/name]. Although she’s not the first dog I’ve ever had, she’s the first puppy that was truly all mine and that I’ve had since she was a pup. [name]Love[/name] her to death! I really love her breed just cause I think they are adorable and incredibly intelligent. I love how even though she isn’t trained it’s just in her to herd things and she instinctively knows how.
My boyfriend has a labordoodle named [name]Ben[/name] who is the best trained and smartest dog I’ve ever met, and I had a black lab named [name]Basil[/name] as a kid so I love labs too! But when I get another puppy it’ll be my boyfriend’s turn to pick and he wants a Duck Tolling retriever. They’re sooo cute so I’m happy with that
I don’t have a big list of dog names I love, but I like [name]Lemon[/name], [name]Greta[/name], [name]Diesel[/name], [name]Snow[/name], and [name]Hansel[/name]. I secretly want to name my next two dogs Ripper and Zodiac because I’m fascinated by serial killers, but I don’t know if that’s too creepy.
I currently have two dogs named [name]Miley[/name] and [name]Bruce[/name]. I named [name]Miley[/name] when I was 11 and a fan of, you guessed it, [name]Miley[/name] [name]Cyrus[/name]. We call her [name]Miles[/name], [name]Milo[/name], Smiley [name]Miley[/name], and Mile too. I named [name]Bruce[/name] simply because I felt the name fit him. We call him [name]Brucey[/name] and Roo Roo sometimes.
He was from a litter of [name]Miley[/name]'s puppies, we adopted the others out, but while we had them I called them [name]Precious[/name], [name]Izzy[/name], [name]Sam[/name], [name]Rosie[/name], [name]Grover[/name], and Heifer “Heif.”
[name]Miley[/name] is an Australian Cattle Dog/Chow Chow and [name]Bruce[/name] is an Australian Cattle Dog/Chow Chow/Labrador. I much prefer mutts, but my favorite breeds are Australian Cattle Dogs, Alaskan Malamutes, Rottweilers, and Pomeranians.
This is only a selection of my favourites and will probably be used for future Borders, with the exception of Brummell, [name]Bryn[/name], [name]Byron[/name] and [name]Bronwen[/name]. I want to breed dogs in the future and hope to breed Dandie Dinmont terriers and Sealyham terriers as well as Borders. I want DDTs called Brummell and [name]Byron[/name], as they were two famous dandies irl. I want Sealyhams called [name]Bryn[/name] and [name]Bronwen[/name] as they are a Welsh breed. I would also like flat-coated retrievers named [name]Flynn[/name], Flyte (f), [name]Fletcher[/name] and [name]Florin[/name] (f), but I’m not sure if this would really happen, at least not all at the same time.
All the other names on my male list are mostly literary surnames or surname-type names e.g.:
Aslan
[name]Doyle[/name] (as in Sir [name]Arthur[/name] [name]Conan[/name], but I don’t think I’ll be using this as I already have a Bodie… Google the two names if you don’t realise why this would be weird)
Heathcliffe, Hindley, Hareton (Wuthering Heights)
[name]Pilot[/name] (Mr [name]Rochester[/name]'s Newfoundland)
[name]Puck[/name] (A Midsummer [name]Night[/name]'s [name]Dream[/name] - though maybe not as I don’t think I’d like to be calling it round the park…)
[name]Rhett[/name]
[name]Sherlock[/name]
Opposite to my kid’s list really - more boys than girls due to the fact that I really, really like surname name for male dogs. In fact it’s more extreme. The female list is very scant. The last addition to it was Elfine, from Cold [name]Comfort[/name] Farm which I recently read.
I have a black [name]German[/name] [name]Shepherd[/name] named [name]Shadow[/name] [name]Bear[/name], and I would love to get a white [name]German[/name] [name]Shepherd[/name] names [name]Snow[/name] or Ghost.
I like huskies, shiba inus, [name]German[/name] shepherds, border collies, and [name]West[/name] Highland white terriers. I prefer boy dogs, so most of the names that I like are boy dog names.
[name]Male[/name]:
[name]Gatsby[/name]
[name]Misha[/name]
Bad [name]Wolf[/name] ([name]Doctor[/name] Who reference)
[name]Captain[/name] [name]Jack[/name] (as in Harkness, also from [name]Doctor[/name] Who)
[name]Rigby[/name]
[name]Kit[/name]
[name]Sherlock[/name]
I [name]LOVE[/name] Italian Greyhounds, Chinese Cresteds, and Great Danes.
In fact, I plan on buying myslf an Italian Greyhound puppy in the next year or two for my birthday. Its been a vow of mine for years.
But when it comes to names, I don’t really have an exact generalised list. But my favoirte names for a female IG is Vallori/e, [name]Harriet[/name] and [name]Bambi[/name]; male “[name]Wally[/name]” [name]Wallace[/name], Crickett and [name]Cesar[/name].
Female Chinese Crested: [name]Peony[/name] and [name]Hermione[/name]; [name]Male[/name] CC: [name]Phoenix[/name] and [name]Jude[/name].
[name]Male[/name] Great [name]Dane[/name]: [name]Gatsby[/name] (The Great [name]Gatsby[/name]) and House (huge fan of the show, and of [name]Hugh[/name] [name]Laurie[/name]).
[name]Love[/name] collies and australian shepherds. Also [name]Golden[/name] Retrievers because my husband and I have always had them. But really I think all dogs are wonderful and love meeting any breed at the park.
[name]Favorite[/name] dog names from dogs I know:
We have a GIANT, extremely fluffy male golden named [name]Henry[/name]. His registered name is HenryFitsHim, because it totally does!
golden named [name]Bogart[/name]
Mother in law’s golden “sib set” of greek names : Ares, Triton, [name]Zeus[/name]
Husky named [name]Neige[/name] (french for snow)
Shiba Inu named Nami
[name]Bouvier[/name] named [name]Gatsby[/name]
And I desperately want a female Aussie named [name]Zola[/name]
I have an 11-year-old black lab named [name]Missy[/name], so of course I love labs. I also really like pugs, golden retrievers and [name]German[/name] shepherds.
Some of my favorite dog names;
Girls;
[name]Missy[/name]
[name]Sophie[/name]
[name]Isabella[/name]/[name]Bella[/name]
[name]Denali[/name] (I actually know a [name]German[/name] [name]Shepherd[/name] named this and I’ve always really liked it)
Anouska
[name]Vivi[/name]
[name]Zoya[/name]
[name]Zara[/name]
[name]Ellie[/name]
[name]Paris[/name]
Boys;
[name]Little[/name] [name]Man[/name] (I used to have a dog named this, and his name fit him perfectly)
[name]Max[/name]
[name]Eli[/name]
[name]Riley[/name]
I have a Newfoundland named [name]Lucy[/name], which is awfully common, but fits her perfectly.
If we get a male Newf I think we’ll call him [name]Alfie[/name].
My breed of all breeds is the Airedale terrier, aka the [name]King[/name] of Terriers. My own three year old Airedale is named [name]Woodrow[/name], aka [name]Wood[/name] or Drobo. His “official” name is Coldstream [name]Dodge[/name] City. I will never not have an Airedale.
I love lots of different breeds of dogs.
I have had three dogs in my lifetime
1st a collie/ spaniel cross names [name]Montgomery[/name] “[name]Monty[/name]”
then more recently me and an ex had a male beagle [name]Watson[/name] and a female Weimaraner named [name]Wilhelmina[/name] “[name]Mina[/name]” - names chosen for their meaning- beagle for the [name]Sherlock[/name] [name]Holmes[/name] connection as beagles and bloodhounds have that association for me and [name]Wilhelmina[/name] for the meaning of “resolute protection” proctectiveness being a massive trait of the breed . All names suited them perfectly.
Dogs are much easier to name than children…
