What are your opinions on Zoë?

What do you think of Zoë? Do you think it’s old fashioned/overused? What are your general associations?

This is my favourite spelling, with the ë! I like it, I think it’s sparkly and has an international charm. I was at school with one (I’m a millennial) but haven’t met many others of any age, so doesn’t feel too dated to me. The [name_u]Zoe[/name_u] I knew became a ballerina so it always strikes me as quite chic and lively!

I love it! [name_f]Zoë[/name_f] is my best friend’s legal name, though she typically spells it without the umlaut. It’s lucky and sweet, heard of but not overly common. It’s a warm and sunny name. :beverage_box::tangerine:

I don’t think it’s old fashioned but I do think it’s very overused. I went to school with tons of Zoe/Zoey’s so it’s been ruined by all the people I new with the name, I have never met a nice [name_u]Zoe[/name_u] the spelling [name_f]Zoë[/name_f] is pretty and I prefer it more than the others but in my state character letters aren’t legal so make sure you check if it’s possible where you live. Overall I don’t like it it, it feels very early 2000s for me and has gained a brat reputation. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the name at all, but the overwhelming associations with it have ruined the name completely for me. I do however love some of the international variants Zoia/Zoya/Zoja!

[name_u]Zoe[/name_u] is pretty charming. A nice meaning and sound, not so popular where I am these days.

[name_f]Zoë[/name_f] is very cute! I don’t find it old-fashioned or overused at all. No associations come to mind, actually, which is never a bad thing. I think it is familiar and friendly and would wear well on any age or personality.

I love [name_f]Zoë[/name_f]! It’s such a sweet, happy name without being overly popular.

[name_f]Zoë[/name_f] is sweet! It is popular but the Z initial and bouncy sound makes it one that I haven’t gotten tired of, despite it being well-used for my whole life. I know two who spell it [name_f]Zoë[/name_f] with the umlaut but both struggle with people dropping it. Outside of [name_f]English[/name_f] speaking countries though, I don’t know how big of an issue that would be.

[name_f]My[/name_f] name is [name_u]Zoe[/name_u], without the umlaut, and I absolutely love it! However, I would caution against using the umlaut, as it would always get omitted. People misspell my name enough as it is haha (they spell it Zoey/Zoie). That said, I have always loved my name, it’s never been popular with my age group (I’m in my late 20s). I know it’s more popular now though.
