What are your thoughts on baby girl name Vanna Grace

I want a girly, feminine, elegant and sophisticated name. What are your thoughts on [name_f]Vanna[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] nickname [name_f]Vanna[/name_f] [name_f]Gracie[/name_f] for baby. Want to use both names. Also what do you think of double names? When she goes to school I want the teachers and everyone to use first and middle name. [name_m]How[/name_m] can I make that happen?

I’m not that much for the name [name_f]Vanna[/name_f], it doesn’t sound complete to me. Though if you want to use [name_f]Vanna[/name_f] and [name_f]Grace[/name_f] together, than I think that sounds much better. [name_f]My[/name_f] aunt has a daughter that goes by [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]-[name_f]Kate[/name_f], and she accomplished that by double-barreling her daughter’s first name.

So to get people to call your daughter [name_f]Vanna[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f], I suggest combining the two names into one first name: [name_f]Vanna[/name_f]-[name_f]Grace[/name_f]. Which means you’ll have to come up with another name to take the middle name spot, but I think combining the two names is the best thing to do to promote people calling your daughter [name_f]Vanna[/name_f]-[name_f]Grace[/name_f].

If you do a double barrel name you don’t need to have a middle name. I know 3 people with names like that and none of them have a middle name. Actually, you don’t need a middle name regardless of what the first name is…most people just like them.

I’m torn on the name [name_f]Vanna[/name_f]. Obviously [name_f]Vanna[/name_f] White would be the main reference for people. (And that isn’t bad at all) But I think you might find people are assuming you are saying [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] since that first name is much more common right now and has a similar sound.

Overall, it isn’t a bad name by any means - just not my style.

On the birth certificate I can add both names as first?

Or should we call her [name_f]Grace[/name_f]?

Are you the same person who had the daughter named [name_f]Vanna[/name_f] that you wanted to change the name of? If not what a coincidence because her daughters name is [name_f]Vanna[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. Haha. Because of that thread I found my favorite name, [name_f]Evanna[/name_f].

[name_f]Vanna[/name_f] is pretty, but it does feel incomplete. But, if you want to go the double barrel route the [name_f]Vanna[/name_f]-[name_f]Grace[/name_f] is complete enough.

[name_f]Vanna[/name_f] is a beautiful name!

Oh but on a side note I don’t feel [name_f]Vanna[/name_f]-[name_f]Grace[/name_f] as sophisticated. It’s very frilly and girly to me, sophisticated clashes with that, but that’s just my opinion xD Sophisticated and girly/frilly are very different in my opinion.

Yup, you can just write in “[name_f]Vanna[/name_f]-[name_f]Grace[/name_f]” in the first name spot of the birth certificate if that is what you wish for. I would use the hyphen, just to connect the names together, but that’s my personal preference.

[name_f]Vanna[/name_f]-[name_f]Grace[/name_f] hyphenated in the first name spot I think would be your best chance of having her go by those two names but you also don’t have to hyphenate (just think it would further promote the “one name” you’re going for). You can write that in the first name slot on the birth certificate. You will then also want to be diligent about always calling her by both names and introducing her as such. Then you can choose a middle name of your liking or none at all.
