[name]Love[/name] it!!!
Couldn’t do it as a full name, maybe a nickname. For me it’s always going to be the little squiggle above some letters, it’s pronounced the same way.
My first thought is ‘where’s the ma’ as in [name]Matilda[/name]! It is a pretty name though and to me FAR better than [name]Hilda[/name]!
I like [name]Tilda[/name]! It’s fabulous.
[name]Ah[/name], yes. Far better than [name]Hilda[/name]. lol.
My first thought was [name]Tilda[/name] Swinton. While I really respect her as an actress its not quite how I picture a sweet little girl.
I think of [name]Tilda[/name] Swinton too, I think she is one of the most fantastic actresses ever. I think it’s a sweet name, would suit a blonde rosy-cheeked little girl!
In Norway and [name]Sweden[/name] [name]Tilda[/name] (and names like this) are quite popular. A few similar ones; [name]Tilde[/name], Vilde, Vilda, Hilja, [name]Hilma[/name].
My thought, too. I only know her from her work in the Chronicles of [name]Narnia[/name] chain, so for me, [name]Tilda[/name] Swinton = White Witch, and the White Witch is awful, haha, so I don’t have the best image of it. It is striking, though, and unusual. I think [name]Tilda[/name] as a nn for [name]Matilda[/name] works a bit better, but I think it could stand on its own. The [name]Narnia[/name]/White Witch thing aside, though, I just like [name]Matilda[/name] nn [name]Tilly[/name] better.
all I think of is the ~ that goes over the N is some Spanish words. Nice nn, but needs more to be a full name I think
I prefer [name]Matilda[/name] with the nickname [name]Tilda[/name]. It’s pretty, though.
I feel like it is more of a nickname for [name]Matilda[/name] than a standalone name.
I love it as a nickname for either [name]Matilda[/name] or [name]Mathilda[/name].
It’s really adorable, but for me it’s definitely more of a nickname than a first name.
