I need help narrowing down my long list. Please feel free to give personal opinions on names. Pick your top three or four that you would use or would love to see used & please feel free to suggest names that fit my vibe. My last name sounds like Garris. In random order:
I love [name]Bethany[/name], [name]Tabitha[/name] and [name]Gwendolen[/name]! I just prefer [name]Gwendolyn[/name]. I know a [name]Mary[/name] [name]Rose[/name] and the name would be gorgeous if I didn’t have the association.
I also love [name]Clover[/name], [name]Aurora[/name], [name]Reverie[/name], [name]Adelaide[/name], [name]Savannah[/name] and [name]Rosemary[/name] from your list.
I think I’m going to go with [name]Saskia[/name], [name]Marigold[/name], and [name]Ayelet[/name] as my top three, but it’s a fantastic list. It’s really hard to choose. I really love seeing [name]Constance[/name]. I think that one in particular is so unexpected and underrated.
[name]Rosemary[/name] - Pretty, I love pretty much all [name]Rose[/name] names. This one reminds me of a dear family friend who passed away before her time, so it has an excellent association for me because she was one of the best people I’ve ever known.
[name]Patricia[/name] - A little dated to me.
[name]Colette[/name] - Cute!
[name]Savannah[/name] - Bleh, never cared for this name.
[name]Bethany[/name] - Meh. It’s okay. I prefer the classic [name]Elizabeth[/name].
[name]Adelaide[/name] - [name]Love[/name]! Classic and love the cute nickname [name]Addy[/name].
[name]Lavender[/name] - A little eccentric, but cute. Reminds me of [name]Harry[/name] [name]Potter[/name].
[name]Saskia[/name] - I love the look and sound of this. le sigh I wish I were Russian…
[name]Cordelia[/name] - [name]Love[/name]! A classic that is still uber unique and a little offbeat.
[name]Marigold[/name] - Not my favorite flower name. I’d vote for [name]Lavender[/name] before I go for this.
[name]Constance[/name] - Not my favorite virtue name.
[name]Ayelet[/name] - I’m not 100% sure how to pronounce this, and that makes me wary.
[name]Cheyenne[/name] - I’ve never been a fan of this name.
[name]Reverie[/name] - Not a fan at all.
[name]Aurora[/name] - I do really like this name, it used to be in my top 10 with [name]Rory[/name] as a nickname, but lately I am annoyed by the repeating R sound and decided I love [name]Rory[/name] by herself even more.
Maryrose - Okay, a reverse [name]Rosemary[/name]… I think I prefer [name]Rosemary[/name].
[name]Sienna[/name] - Not a fan.
[name]Tabitha[/name] - Very cute, with some good nicknames. I like it.
[name]Magnolia[/name] - Too over the top for me. There are other flower names I like so much more.
[name]Aislinn[/name] - I like this, but depending on where you are from pronunciation will be an issue.
[name]Clover[/name] - Cute for a middle name, but I don’t like it so much for a first name.
[name]Sabrina[/name] - Cute, I prefer similar name [name]Serena[/name].
[name]Aurelia[/name] - Another way to get to [name]Rory[/name], a little more regal and uppity.
[name]Gwendolen[/name] - Never liked this one.
[name]Tatiana[/name] - Not my style, funny though, because this reminds me of my mum. She loves this name and I likely would have been [name]Tatiana[/name] if my last name were a better fit with it.
My top picks: [name]Rosemary[/name], [name]Adelaide[/name], [name]Saskia[/name], [name]Tabitha[/name]
Ones I would skip: [name]Patricia[/name], [name]Ayelet[/name], [name]Reverie[/name], [name]Magnolia[/name]
No need to be Russian to use [name]Saskia[/name]! It’s a Dutch/[name]German[/name] name meaning “[name]Saxon[/name]”, and my understanding is that it’s used enough in [name]England[/name] to be familiar there even if you aren’t running into Saskias all of the time.
[name]Colette[/name] - like!
[name]Adelaide[/name] - like
[name]Cordelia[/name] - pretty!
[name]Aurelia[/name] - nice
[name]Bethany[/name] - like
[name]Tabitha[/name] - pretty
[name]Reverie[/name] - I like it
[name]Gwendolen[/name] - weird spelling but I like the name
[name]Sabrina[/name] - not my favorite but I can see it being well loved
[name]Lavender[/name] - okay
[name]Marigold[/name] - meh
[name]Magnolia[/name] - okay
[name]Rosemary[/name] - meh
[name]Clover[/name] - not terrible
[name]Aurora[/name] - meh, overused for such a flowery name
[name]Ayelet[/name] - like eyelet? never heard of it
[name]Tatiana[/name] - meh, too Russian
[name]Sienna[/name] - nms
[name]Savannah[/name] - meh
[name]Cheyenne[/name] - meh, nms
[name]Patricia[/name] - bleh
[name]Saskia[/name] - bleh
[name]Constance[/name] - bleh
Maryrose - made up
[name]Aislinn[/name] - don’t like it
Thanks for feedback Berries! I was nervous to put my list out there because I feel like it’s all over the place but a lot of time went into making it. I seriously love all of these names. Some of them are family names and others I love the sound and meaning of. [name]One[/name] big thing I worry about is popularity. I want to love the name I use even if it explodes and becomes #1. Feedback is really helping me sort out my feelings about the list. I’m suprised how many people are [name]Gwendolen[/name]/[name]Gwendolyn[/name] G. fans… I worry about it being too “G” heavy… am I nuts? Again, thanks!
I love [name]Gwendolen[/name] (and I much, much prefer that spelling to [name]Gwendolyn[/name]), but I agree that it doesn’t go well with your surname.
[name]Cordelia[/name] is wonderful and would be really cute.
I also like [name]Reverie[/name]. At first I thought that [name]Reverie[/name] Garris would be too heavy on the R, but I actually find it adorable.
My third pick is [name]Colette[/name], although I kind of have mixed feelings with the last name.
