I am a twin with a boy
Me: [name_f]Aimee[/name_f] [name_f]Keren[/name_f]
Him: [name_m]Justin[/name_m] [name_m]Aaron[/name_m]
I like our first names together but our middles do rhyme. My mom claims she was too stressed at the time and didn’t pay attention to the rhyming of our MNs because we were micro-preemies, which is understandable. It could always be worse, it could of been our first names
My brothers are twins: [name_m]Adam[/name_m] [name_m]Charles[/name_m] and [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Richard[/name_m].
Our parents couldn’t agree on two first names they liked, so Mom named [name_m]Adam[/name_m] and Dad named [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m]. They switched things up with the family-honoring middles: [name_m]Charles[/name_m] is our paternal grandfather (and uncle and great-grandfather) and [name_m]Richard[/name_m] was our maternal uncle.
I don’t have twins nor am I one, but my mother’s friend has twin daughters [name_f]Tempest[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] and [name_u]Tatum[/name_u] [name_f]Adeline[/name_f].
I don’t have twins either, but my dad and his brother are twins named [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Craig[/name_m] and [name_u]James[/name_u] [name_u]Ellis[/name_u]. My grandfather is named [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_u]Ellis[/name_u]. The baby born first got his first name and the baby born second got his middle name.
We have three sets of twins in the family, my grandmother was [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] and her twin sister was [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f]. My mum is [name_f]Louise[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] and her twin sister is [name_f]Wendy[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f]. Finally my nieces are [name_u]Sunnie[/name_u] [name_f]Joy[/name_f] and [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] [name_f]Layla[/name_f]. Both my gran and mother’s twin sets are all family names, were my nieces are named after light and dark using family names.
I went to school with a lot of twins:
[name_f]Danielle[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Kayla[/name_f] [name_u]Rae[/name_u]
[name_u]Ryan[/name_u] and [name_u]Riley[/name_u]
[name_f]Cami[/name_f] and [name_f]Jade[/name_f]
[name_u]Aspen[/name_u] and [name_u]Sierra[/name_u]
[name_u]Bo[/name_u] and [name_u]Kit[/name_u] ([name_m]Beauregard[/name_m] and [name_m]Christopher[/name_m])
I am a twin, and I dislike matching names. This includes names that start with the same letter, or just have a similar sound. However, twins name have to go together somewhat, because if they are very different it may sound odd, for example, if one is very modern and one is super old fashion. I am [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f], and my sister is [name_f]Molly[/name_f] [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]. We both have our own individual sounding names, but [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] and [name_f]Molly[/name_f] go together pretty well. If I have twins, I am planning on naming them
Boys: [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] ([name_u]Theo[/name_u] and [name_m]Alec[/name_m])
Boy/Girl: [name_m]William[/name_m] ([name_m]Will[/name_m]) and [name_f]Clara[/name_f]
Girls: [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] and [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]
[name_u]Story[/name_u] from my friends’ experience:
We had real trouble deciding on names for our unexpected twins, but came up with [name_m]Xavier[/name_m] [name_m]Jaimes[/name_m] [name_u]Blue[/name_u] and [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] [name_f]Maud[/name_f]. They’re teens now and each style their name differently, with Xav’ (pronounced Zave) for [name_m]Xavier[/name_m] and [name_u]Lee[/name_u] for [name_f]Cecily[/name_f]. [name_m]Xavier[/name_m] also rarely uses his middle name, preferring to go by [name_m]Xavier[/name_m] [name_u]Blue[/name_u] LastName, which gives both siblings a nice cadence (two names each).
When we named them we had real trouble though, as neither one of us have good working relationships with our parents, and my husband never met his father/doesn’t even know his name. He did meet his uncle, who was lovely, and has a resounding personal life story that really impacted my husband (he was actively LGBT+ during the AIDS crisis in the 80s) and his name is [name_m]Xavier[/name_m], so there went our boy’s first name. [name_m]Jaimes[/name_m] we thought was spunky and went well with it, and [name_u]Blue[/name_u] topped it all off perfectly, and is my husband’s middle name.
As for [name_u]Lee[/name_u], we wanted a name that could be nn well, and my husband’s had a lifelong soft spot for the name [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] as it’s floral and dated without being too naff. [name_f]Maud[/name_f] was a good name, sound-wise, and we thought they went well together.
As you can see, we mainly went by preference and sound- [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] [name_f]Maud[/name_f] has a variety of different sounds but finish each other off well, for example, and [name_m]Xavier[/name_m] [name_m]Jaimes[/name_m] [name_u]Blue[/name_u] we felt went well. It was a struggle too as we combined our last names into a compound for the children, but worth it as we love the names and they do too!
