What Boys Name Goes with Vincent?

My 18 month old is named [name]Vincent[/name]. He has a brother on the way and my wife and I are at a loss as to what to name him. What name goes with [name]Vince[/name]?

We like

[name]Michael[/name]
[name]John[/name]
[name]Viktor[/name]
[name]Max[/name]

Would love to hear some feedback or othe names! Thanks

I like all of the names you listed. I’m not sure what your plans for future children might be, but I might steer clear of [name]Viktor[/name] unless you want to start a bit of a ‘V’ theme.

Other names I think might go well with [name]Vincent[/name]:
[name]Karl[/name]
[name]Simon[/name]
[name]Gregor[/name]
[name]Markus[/name]
[name]Felix[/name]
[name]Calvin[/name]

Good luck!

My vote goes to [name]Max[/name]

I love [name]Vincent[/name] with [name]Xavier[/name] and [name]Sebastian[/name] off the top of my head. [name]Vincent[/name] has really grown on me since I joined NB. It’s on my future shortlist. [name]Vincent[/name] could also have a sibling with several different styles. For example, classic: [name]Theodore[/name], vintage: [name]Felix[/name], stylish: [name]Dominic[/name], biblical: [name]Ezra[/name] or [name]Ephraim[/name], Italian: [name]Dante[/name], Latin:[name]Lionel[/name] nn [name]Leo[/name]

[name]Just[/name] some first impressions…

I think the list you have is great, but I personally like [name]Michael[/name] or [name]Max[/name] best.

I think classic names go best with [name]Vincent[/name]. Here are some ideas:

[name]Vincent[/name] & [name]Charles[/name] “[name]Charlie[/name]”
[name]Vincent[/name] & [name]Theodore[/name]
[name]Vincent[/name] & [name]William[/name]
[name]Vincent[/name] & [name]Phillip[/name]
[name]Vincent[/name] & [name]Edward[/name]
[name]Vincent[/name] & [name]Benjamin[/name]
[name]Vincent[/name] & [name]Matthew[/name]
[name]Vincent[/name] & [name]Christopher[/name]
[name]Vincent[/name] & [name]Daniel[/name] (I think [name]Vince[/name] & [name]Danny[/name] sounds adorable)

Also, I know two year old twin boys named [name]Vincent[/name] & [name]Colin[/name], so I think that sounds really cute too! Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestions!
We call our son [name]Vince[/name], so we were also thinking that
[name]John[/name] [name]Peter[/name] (J.P.) or
[name]Peter[/name] [name]John[/name] (P.J.) would sound cool with [name]Vince[/name]

We still like [name]Michael[/name] too.

[name]Michael[/name] is classic, but it’s just so common. You can’t go wrong with [name]John[/name]. [name]Viktor[/name], I’m not crazy about. I’d be fine with [name]Victor[/name]…but I’m not sure if you want two V names. [name]Max[/name] is cute, but super common; plus, I’d make it short for something, otherwise it’s too informal.

Suggestions:
[name]Anthony[/name]
[name]Bradley[/name]
[name]Carson[/name]
[name]Charles[/name] ([name]Charlie[/name])
[name]Daniel[/name]
[name]Franklin[/name]
[name]Frederick[/name]
[name]Gabriel[/name]
[name]Garrison[/name]
[name]Gregory[/name]
[name]James[/name]
[name]Julius[/name]
[name]Lloyd[/name]
[name]Matthias[/name]
[name]Nicholas[/name]
[name]Oliver[/name]
[name]Oscar[/name]
[name]Paul[/name]
[name]Quentin[/name]
[name]Raymond[/name]
[name]Richard[/name]
[name]Silas[/name]
[name]Stephen[/name]
[name]Thaddeus[/name]
[name]Weston[/name]

[name]Hope[/name] that helps!

I agree with the pp, I have met and known sooo many Michaels that it doesn’t even seem like a name anymore. To me it’s a male [name]Jennifer[/name]. Yes it’s classic, but it needs a rest. [name]How[/name] about [name]Raphael[/name]? You gave [name]Vincent[/name] has such a distinctive name, his brother should have one as well  [name]Michael[/name] and [name]John[/name] (less common in my generation than the former but still one of the most popular names of all time) would make lovely middles.

[name]Gabriel[/name]
[name]Raphael[/name]
[name]Sebastian[/name]

[name]Vincent[/name] is such a cool name I think it needs an equally strong name to go with it, but one that can be shortened to a friendly nn.
The [name]John[/name] [name]Peter[/name] thing not my style, too biblical.

If you want something more classic:
[name]Charles[/name]
[name]Benjamin[/name]
[name]Daniel[/name]

I have an 8 month old [name]Vincent[/name], nn’s [name]Vince[/name] and [name]Vinny[/name]! Names I think “go with” [name]Vincent[/name] and are on our list are:

[name]Leo[/name] (might be kind of short compared to [name]Vincent[/name], though)
[name]Theodore[/name] (nn [name]Theo[/name], [name]Ted[/name], [name]Teddy[/name])
[name]Walter[/name] (nn [name]Walt[/name], [name]Wally[/name])–[name]LOVE[/name] with [name]Vincent[/name]! Hoping to use this one ourselves.

I agree with pp that you could go with a very Italian name, but it would seem to lock you into the Italian theme in the future.

Personally, I think vintages names for [name]Vince[/name]'s brother would be best! Good luck and let us know what you decide!

You could use [name]Lionel[/name] as a long form to get to nn [name]Leo[/name]
