I’m thinking of [name_u]Romy[/name_u] for my daughter… However I’m not sure whether to have it as a standalone name as a nickname of something else. I’m not keen on [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] which is the obvious choice… Any ideas?
Also do you think [name_m]Romie[/name_m] would work?
For the sake of simplicity, I prefer [name_u]Romy[/name_u], and I love [name_f]Nell[/name_f] in the middle name spot. My immediate thought was Rommily, but a few others could be:
[name_u]Remington[/name_u] [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] ([name_u]Remi[/name_u] is clearer as a nickname, but I think [name_u]Romy[/name_u] could work, too)
[name_u]Roma[/name_u] [name_f]Carys[/name_f]
Romelia [name_f]Belle[/name_f]
[name_f]Romilda[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]
Rommily [name_f]Nell[/name_f] (definitely my favorite)
[name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] [name_f]Zara[/name_f]
Of course, middles are just what I thought of and are completely replaceable. Good luck!
I think [name_u]Romy[/name_u] works fine on its own. The obvious long forms might be a bit hard to wear: [name_f]Romola[/name_f], [name_f]Romilda[/name_f], etc.
It does sound like you love [name_u]Romy[/name_u] though rather than [name_u]Romy[/name_u]-because-of-the-initials or [name_u]Romy[/name_u]-because-of-[name_f]Rowena[/name_f]-[name_f]Miriam[/name_f]!
I really think [name_u]Romy[/name_u] can stand on its own, but I like a previous poster’s suggestion of [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] nn [name_u]Romy[/name_u].
Other ideas could be [name_f]Rosemarie[/name_f] (this has a slightly different pronunciation from [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]), [name_f]Romina[/name_f], [name_f]Romana[/name_f], [name_u]Roma[/name_u], Romary…
I think [name_f]Nell[/name_f] as a middle is really cute, and I would pair it with a longer first name - although I do think [name_u]Romy[/name_u] is a great name as is.
[name_u]Romy[/name_u] could be a nickname for… (sorry if any doubles)
I don’t think you need a name to lengthen or sound like [name_m]Romie[/name_m] (the spelling I prefer). If you like a name then call her that but if you don’t think its birth certificate worthy then jot something else down.
Ex: There is a YouTuber whose name is [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] and she has always went by [name_u]Nikki[/name_u]
[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], [name_f]Romilly[/name_f], [name_f]Rosemarie[/name_f], [name_u]Roma[/name_u], [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], [name_f]Rowena[/name_f] (the last is my favorite) and I think it can stand alone too.
It is one of my very favorite names ever – I hope to have a brown-red dog and call her [name_f]Rowena[/name_f] [name_f]Maple[/name_f], AKA [name_u]Romy[/name_u].
Dislike [name_m]Romie[/name_m] a lot.
I love [name_u]Romy[/name_u] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] or [name_u]Romy[/name_u] [name_f]Maple[/name_f]. [name_u]Romy[/name_u] [name_f]Danae[/name_f].
