What do you guys think of the name Broden.....love that its not so common!

[name_m]Just[/name_m] wondering what everyone else’s opinion is on the name Broden…nn would be [name_m]Brody[/name_m] most likely. I think it would grow with him as he got older and wanted to be called Broden when he started going to college and looking for jobs. Really want a name that is going to grow with him as he gets older and not just a cute name for now as a baby! Thanks in advance for the opinions!

It sounds trendy, but it won’t shock anyone as it’s in keeping with many similar popular names.
It’s not terrible, as made up names go.

I love that you are thinking ahead and want a name that can grow with your son. A very smart line if thinking!

I will be honest regarding my own thoughts about Broden, and I hope they don’t come across too harsh. Broden, to me, sounds very made up and trendy. These are not attributes I care for or respect in a baby name, particularly in boy names. However, that is just my opinion, and I know names like this are wildly popular right now, so obviously I might be in the minority! I do not like the name [name_m]Brody[/name_m], (just a personal dislike: reminds me of “grody.” Did anyone else ever use that slang term growing up?) So really, Broden nickname [name_m]Brody[/name_m] is NOT my cup of tea.

I personally believe names like Broden and all his cousins ([name_m]Zayden[/name_m], [name_m]Braden[/name_m], Laykin, etc.) are going to sound extremely dated in the next ten years as trends change. If this doesn’t bother you, then go for it! It’s just not something I would personally choose.

It looks like you’re fairly new around here. You may find a less than warm reception to Broden on Nameberry. The people that frequent this site tend to shy away from overly trendy sounding names such as Broden. Please try not to take the criticism too harshly, and remember, if you [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] a name… Absolutely [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] it, then no one’s opinion can change that. Give your son a name that you love, regardless of what anyone else thinks!

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] my words were helpful. Best of luck to you!

I like it! I think it’s strong sounding.

I agree with @tintri.

I’m not really a fan of it. It sounds like a misspelling of [name_m]Braden[/name_m]. But I agree with tintri, if you like it go ahead and use it!

I like [name_m]Brodie[/name_m] a lot. Can I suggest [name_u]Brennan[/name_u] or [name_m]Breccan[/name_m]?

Broden reminds me of the clothes company [name_m]Boden[/name_m].

To be honest, it sounds like a thing - “the bro den,” like a mancave. Have you considered [name_m]Brendan[/name_m], [name_m]Bowen[/name_m] or [name_m]Ronan[/name_m]?

Broden isn’t my favorite, but it isn’t bad. Have you considered the name [name_m]Boden[/name_m]? It is very similar, but with a little more history. It is very uncommon, but still nice. You can call him [name_m]Bodhi[/name_m].

I really like it. I like that’s it’s not common. And I also like that it is very masculine sounding.

I think it’s nice, but I would use [name_m]Odin[/name_m] just because it’s an actual name with a meaning.

It sort of blends together with the Braydens and Jaydens and other trend names. Not horrible but sort of unmemorable and meh to me.

I know this was from a while ago… but what did you end up doing? We have a boy named Shaeden and are having twins. Considering Teagen (girl) and Broden.
