I’m pregnant with twin girls due at the beginning of [name_u]March[/name_u], who will probably arrive earlier than than, and we are really struggling with name ideas. I’m Arabic, my wife is [name_m]French[/name_m], and we are currently living in the UK, and are likely to stay within the English-speaking world for the foreseeable future. We think we’re going to give them English first names, an Arabic middle and a [name_m]French[/name_m] middle. We think that one will have the [name_m]French[/name_m] middle [name_f]Manon[/name_f] and the other will have the [name_m]French[/name_m] middle [name_f]Anais[/name_f], but as for there first names and Arabic middles, we are really struggling.
We like quite short English names that aren’t frilly, like [name_f]Nell[/name_f], and are completely lost with Arabic names.
What Arabic names do you like? Off the top of my head, you could do something like [name_f]Nell[/name_f] [name_f]Samira[/name_f] [name_f]Manon[/name_f], [name_f]Nell[/name_f] [name_f]Khadija[/name_f] [name_f]Manon[/name_f], or [name_f]Nell[/name_f] [name_f]Fatima[/name_f] [name_f]Manon[/name_f].
Have you considered using [name_f]Leila[/name_f] as a first name? It is Arabic in origin but obviously is very common in English speaking countries…same goes for [name_f]Lila[/name_f]. Also if you use a [name_m]French[/name_m] name with [name_u]Lou[/name_u] in it, like [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] or [name_f]Louise[/name_f], as a first name you could use the nickname [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] which is an Arabic name in and of itself! You could even just use [name_u]Lou[/name_u] by itself
@southern.maple I honestly like so many Arabic names, but also have a a lot of women in my family, so I feel like most of them have already been used. I like [name_f]Fatima[/name_f], [name_f]Amina[/name_f], [name_f]Aziza[/name_f], [name_f]Noor[/name_f], [name_f]Farrah[/name_f], [name_f]Sadiya[/name_f], [name_f]Safiyya[/name_f], [name_f]Nazira[/name_f] and [name_f]Jamila[/name_f] in particular, but I have close relatives with all of those names. I also like [name_f]Nasima[/name_f], [name_f]Sahar[/name_f] and [name_f]Yasmin[/name_f] but my wife doesn’t.
@eleventhbelle [name_f]Leila[/name_f] and its variants are all very nice, but I know at least four Leilas and two Laylas so they are far too popular for me. We are also settled on [name_f]Manon[/name_f] and are pretty sure of Anias for our [name_m]French[/name_m] names since they are family names.
[name_f]Manon[/name_f] and [name_f]Anais[/name_f] are really good names to make combos with because you can use names ending in a without it getting rhymey or sounding off
Arabic ideas- I don’t know many but perhaps Aadila, Sumaya, [name_f]Aziza[/name_f] or [name_f]Salima[/name_f]
