What do you really call your pet?

What’s your pets name? But what do you really call them?

My dogs:

[name_f]Barbie[/name_f], aka Barbs, [name_f]Barbarella[/name_f] Dogface, Ugly girl (she looks like Chewbaccas mommy, she’s ugly cute)

[name_u]Dexter[/name_u], aka [name_m]Dex[/name_m]-terrrrrrrr, Bonehead, Fat boy (he was a rescue - super skinny and sad, now he’s fat and happy)

They’ve since passed away but I had 2 cats [name_f]Buttercup[/name_f] and [name_m]Sylvester[/name_m] [name_m]Jon[/name_m].

The family pets:
[name_f]Shadow[/name_f] aka Sha-toast, “my butt” (via my sister)
Squishy aka Squish, Stupid or Smelly (my brother/her ‘catdad’), Dumbotron (she’s huge and dumb)
and [name_f]Princess[/name_f] doesn’t really have any other names.

I have a aussie named Jaeger(Yay-gur) and his nickname is Bubbaz.

My dog is named [name_f]Flora[/name_f] but she gets called [name_f]Flo[/name_f], [name_f]Flo[/name_f] [name_f]Flo[/name_f], Flee, [name_u]Fee[/name_u], [name_f]Fifi[/name_f], [name_f]Foxy[/name_f], [name_f]Foxy[/name_f] Face, [name_f]Flora[/name_f] Dog, FD, Girlie and Flox.

I collectively call my guinea pigs ‘stinkies’ or ‘the boys’, but individually they get called:
[name_f]Fern[/name_f] - Fernelle, Fernella, Fernie, Fernellie
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f]- Pops, Poppet, Popsicle
(these two also get called the ‘ladies’ sometimes)
[name_m]Duke[/name_m] - Dukey, dude, Dukey-boy
[name_m]Wilbur[/name_m] - Wilbs, Wilby, Wilberforce
[name_m]George[/name_m] - [name_f]Georgette[/name_f], [name_u]Georgie[/name_u], the orange one
[name_u]Keats[/name_u] - Keatsy, sweet boy, the demanding one
Big [name_m]George[/name_m] - Big [name_u]Georgie[/name_u]

[name_f]Cat[/name_f]'s name is [name_f]Lulu[/name_f]… but half the time she gets [name_u]Lou[/name_u], [name_f]Lulie[/name_f], [name_f]Lula[/name_f], Lulina and “The Lulinator” :slight_smile:

Our hamster was Albertini but mostly [name_u]Bertie[/name_u]. And actually we mostly called him ‘tiny [name_m]Ham[/name_m]’.

I have two dogs:

  • [name_m]Rockie[/name_m] Chocolate [name_u]Bar[/name_u] In A Box: He was named when we got him, but we mostly call him [name_m]Rockie[/name_m] or [name_m]Rockie[/name_m]-Roo. I call him [name_m]Bud[/name_m]/[name_m]Buddy[/name_m].
  • [name_m]Teddie[/name_m] Beebo: I named him [name_u]Teddy[/name_u], though my mum engraved his collar with the -ie spelling. He gets called [name_m]Teddie[/name_m] or Ted.

Dogs:
[name_u]Bailey[/name_u] Bobs - I wanted to call him [name_u]Bailey[/name_u], but my sister wanted to call him [name_m]Bob[/name_m]. He gets called [name_u]Bailey[/name_u], Bailes, [name_u]Bailey[/name_u] Bobs, [name_u]Bailey[/name_u] Bobbles and Chubs (he’s pretty fat lol).

[name_u]Monroe[/name_u] [name_f]Lillie[/name_f] - My mum decided on her name. We call her [name_u]Monroe[/name_u], [name_u]Monroe[/name_u] [name_f]Lillie[/name_f] and [name_f]Princess[/name_f].

Cats:
[name_u]Robin[/name_u] [name_m]Albus[/name_m] - We call my cat [name_u]Robin[/name_u], [name_m]Prince[/name_m] and Goth [name_u]Baby[/name_u] (my sister and I have an inside joke about him loving dark spaces/corners).

[name_m]Elmo[/name_m] [name_m]Barbossa[/name_m] - My sister’s cat gets called quite a few things; [name_m]Elmo[/name_m], Elmoop, Moop, Moopy, Puddle-[name_f]Cat[/name_f], [name_m]Elmo[/name_m]-[name_m]Rupert[/name_m]… I could go on and on haha.

My [name_f]Maine[/name_f] Coon kitty’s name is [name_u]Murphy[/name_u], but I call him [name_m]Buster[/name_m], [name_m]Buddy[/name_m] or even [name_m]Leo[/name_m] the [name_m]Lion[/name_m], because he has a big mane. :wink:

[name_f]Cat[/name_f]'s name is [name_u]Frankie[/name_u], but gets called Franks, [name_m]Franklin[/name_m], [name_m]Frank[/name_m]-n-furter, fat sausage (he’s lazy and overweight and lies stretched out), occasionally Frankenstein.

Our black lab mix [name_f]Summer[/name_f] gets called [name_f]Summer[/name_f]-Girl, Derpy, Derpy Paws, Jackrabbit, and recently, Old Girl.

Our mini Doxie is [name_f]Colette[/name_f], but we almost always call her [name_f]Lettie[/name_f], unless she’s in trouble. Her NNs are Pipsqueak and Lettiepants.

And our cat [name_f]Glory[/name_f] is sometimes called [name_f]Glory[/name_f]-Be, [name_f]Glory[/name_f]-meow and Mama [name_f]Cat[/name_f].

My lovely cat [name_f]Molly[/name_f] is usually called [name_f]Molly[/name_f], or [name_f]Moll[/name_f] by me xD But sometimes she’s called Molls, and sometimes we call her Meowlly!

I have two dogs named [name_f]Mia[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f] (7) & [name_m]Leonidas[/name_m] (2).

We foster cats, so there’s always a rotation of fun names in our house!

We have two cats of our own: [name_f]Annie[/name_f] ([name_f]Annie[/name_f] Bananie, [name_f]Annie[/name_f] Girl, Prime [name_f]Cat[/name_f]) and [name_f]Tiny[/name_f] [name_m]Tim[/name_m] (TimTim, TimSum, Teeny [name_f]Tiny[/name_f], Timbroslice, TimTam, [name_m]Black[/name_m] [name_m]Flash[/name_m], baby bro, bud/buddy)

We have one seven month old foster right now named [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], but more often than not she’s called Torbie, Torbie Roundhead, [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] Roundhead, Roundhead, or just “stinky kitten”

Another of our fosters is named [name_f]Freya[/name_f], nn [name_m]Frey[/name_m] and momma. She recently had a litter of four kittens, all currently unnamed

I’ve two guinea pigs:
Priggelientje - Usually just Lien (pronounced lean) or Lientje, sometimes Pien, big girl and oldie (she’s getting old)
[name_f]Coco[/name_f] - Co, Cocie, [name_f]Coco[/name_f] [name_f]Chanel[/name_f], Crazy-Co, little one

Our dogs are called [name_f]Minty[/name_f] and [name_m]Fitz[/name_m] and we more often than not call them that but [name_f]Minty[/name_f] does occasionally get called Mentos, Mint or Mint Julep and [name_m]Fitz[/name_m] is sometimes [name_m]Fitzgerald[/name_m], [name_m]Fitzwilliam[/name_m], [name_m]Fitzpatrick[/name_m], [name_m]Fitzroy[/name_m] or any other [name_m]Fitz[/name_m] names that comes to mind.

My cat is named [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]. However, he just gets called [name_u]Olly[/name_u] most of the time. My dog is called [name_u]Max[/name_u], but that’s not an easy name to shorten.

Usually we just call our dog [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] by her name, but sometimes we call her [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] ([name_u]Lee[/name_u] is the middle name we gave her when we adopted her), Wen of Ar, Wennie, and [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] [name_u]Baby[/name_u].

We mostly call her [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] or [name_f]Arwen[/name_f] [name_u]Baby[/name_u].
