We are expecting a daughter in about 13 weeks and considering the name [name]Annalise[/name]. We have a daughter named [name]Eliza[/name] [name]Joy[/name]. [name]Do[/name] you think [name]Annalise[/name] and [name]Eliza[/name] are too similar sounding, with the lise part of the name coming from [name]Elizabeth[/name], just like [name]Eliza[/name] does? Am I overthinking this?
I also like [name]Josephine[/name] and [name]Violet[/name]. What do you think?
I like [name]Annalise[/name] but I much prefer [name]Anna[/name] or [name]Annabel[/name]/le. I also like [name]Josephine[/name] nn [name]Josie[/name] and [name]Violet[/name]. I think all of these are good choices. :).
[name]Violet[/name] and [name]Eliza[/name] sound very nice together. [name]Annalise[/name] is a beautiful name but [name]Eliza[/name] does not fit with it.
Honestly I think [name]Eliza[/name] and [name]Violet[/name] are the best sibset. They’re both gorgeous and go together very well! [name]Annalise[/name] is similar to [name]Eliza[/name] and I read ‘analyse’ every time I see it. There’s also the previously mentioned ‘anal’ issues.
I have a daughter named [name]Annalise[/name]! She is now 13, so when I chose it, it still seemed quite rare. I think [name]Violet[/name] and [name]Josephine[/name] will be just as popular as [name]Annalise[/name], in a few years, at any rate (That is just my opinion, though:) I never thought about the ‘anal’ thing at all, and when I chose her name I wanted most of all for people to be able to pronounce it! Plus I wanted the nn [name]Anna[/name]. However, if I were to pick it now that many more people are familiar with it, I would go with [name]Annelise[/name]. It looks a bit softer and removes the visual ‘anal’ thing, although pronunciation wise that is not an issue at all. My daughter does know one other girl named [name]Annaliese[/name], and of course countless [name]Anna[/name]'s, but she has never had another [name]Annalise[/name] in her class (any spelling, either), and she is the only one in her entire middle school. We know several [name]Josephine[/name]'s and one little [name]Violet[/name]. So, again, I’m not sure popularity is truly an issue between these exact names. I guess I would go with your gut feeling on which name you like the best, and also which nicknames you like the most. They are all lovely names and go sweetly with [name]Eliza[/name], imo. Good luck!
I prefer the [name]Anneliese[/name] spelling. But I do think it’s a little close to [name]Eliza[/name], as they both come from the same roots like [name]Elizabeth[/name]. You definitely wouldn’t want to use the nn [name]Elise[/name]…just [name]Anna[/name] would be okay.
I prefer [name]Josephine[/name] ([name]Josie[/name]) or [name]Violet[/name] with [name]Eliza[/name]. All are lovely names, but those seems more distinct from [name]Eliza[/name] to me.
