I’ve just recently discovered the name [name_f]Calista[/name_f], and have completely fallen for it! I love the way it sounds, and the meaning of it (most beautiful) and that it has a slight association to bears (she was a greek nymph who was turned into a bear by [name_f]Hera[/name_f]), and that it leads to the nn [name_f]Callie[/name_f] or [name_f]Calla[/name_f].
So, what do you think of it? Also our last name begins with K and is 3 syllables, would it be to much k…k… sounding? Or too long?
I love it. I have [name_f]Callista[/name_f] somewhere on my long list. [name_u]Love[/name_u] the meaning “most beautiful” and nn [name_f]Callie[/name_f].
It’s a very pretty name, I love Lissy, Lissia & [name_f]Callie[/name_f] as a nicknames.
Depending on your last name I think it would flow fine & shouldn’t be too long
I like [name_f]Callista[/name_f]! It’s nice because it’s uncommon, but the pronunciation and spelling is pretty straightforward. I’m not a big fan of [name_f]Callie[/name_f], just because there’s so many C/K names for girls that sound similar ([name_u]Kiley[/name_u], [name_u]Keely[/name_u], [name_f]Kalie[/name_f], [name_u]Kelly[/name_u], etc.). [name_f]Calla[/name_f] feels much more fresh to me. I also like Lis or [name_f]Lissie[/name_f] for nicknames.
So pretty. [name_f]Calista[/name_f] is my favorite spelling too as it looks sleekest. I’m not a fan of [name_f]Callie[/name_f], but a love [name_f]Cala[/name_f] / [name_f]Calla[/name_f].
I quite like [name_f]Calista[/name_f], it has a lot going for it, although I don’t love it. There’s something about the sound I’m not too sure about. I don’t think it would be a problem with your surname though.
I’ve only just recently learned about [name_f]Calista[/name_f] (and now [name_f]Callista[/name_f]!), and I’ve decided I like it. At first, I wasn’t sure because it sounds like a word to me (like a dance or another name for a stiletto heel lol idk why), but it’s a very pretty name with lots of cute nn potential!
I’m not normally a fan of name alliteration, so most likely I wouldn’t use it if it had the same sound as my last name, but they are different letters, and it’s not the worst thing in the world. I mean, her name would be [name_f]Calista[/name_f]! Who cares about anything else with such a gorgeous first name? Haha =]
[name_f]Calista[/name_f] is a pretty name but there is something about it, similarity to [name_f]Celeste[/name_f], that I don’t love. I guess they are just not my style, they feel too fairy-like, or spacey or ethereal for me or something. I think it would work well with your last name though. I love both [name_f]Calla[/name_f] & [name_f]Callie[/name_f]!
I absolutely love [name_f]Calista[/name_f]! So glad someone made this thread, I hardly ever see it mentioned. The meaning, the nicknames {[name_f]Calla[/name_f], Lissy, [name_f]Callie[/name_f]), & the history. This has been my front runner for about 6+ months now. Prefer [name_f]Calista[/name_f] over [name_f]Callista[/name_f] (However, I like both), it seems sleeker to me. The K last name wouldn’t bother me, as long as it’s not KA–.
I really like [name_f]Calista[/name_f] / [name_f]Callista[/name_f]. I love [name_f]Calla[/name_f] so much though so I decided to just jump right past [name_f]Calista[/name_f] and use [name_f]Calla[/name_f] alone as a future name.
I’ve always really liked [name_f]Calista[/name_f]. I have a name list from when I was about 13 and [name_f]Calista[/name_f] was my number two. I have an on-again-off-again friend who’s daughter is [name_u]Cali[/name_u]. That would keep me from seriously considering it.
