What do you think of Elias?

I really want a strong Old Testament name (husband is [name]Daniel[/name] and son is [name]Noah[/name]), and love the sound of [name]Eli[/name] but do not love the story of him. [name]Elijah[/name] has a great story, but I prefer the Greek [name]Elias[/name] over [name]Elijah[/name]. What do you think of it? I knew one boy named [name]Elias[/name] but he went by [name]Eli[/name].
[name]Elias[/name] [name]Gray[/name] “[name]Robinson[/name]” (maybe with the nickname [name]Eli[/name]… maybe not?)

On a random note, did anyone know that [name]Eli[/name] [name]Manning[/name]'s name is [name]Elisha[/name]? [name]Just[/name] found that out the other day

I think it’s a great choice. Goes perfectly with [name]Noah[/name] ([name]Noah[/name] and [name]Elijah[/name] would be too matchy for me) and his story is a strong one in the Bible. [name]Elias[/name] [name]Gray[/name] [name]Robinson[/name] is very handsome!

I like [name]Elias[/name] better than [name]Elijah[/name] which was really popular in the mid 90s. I have so many this year in class it’s crazy !

I absolutely love [name]Elias[/name]. It’s my favourite boys’ name, and I love the nn [name]Eli[/name] too. It’s strong, handsome, not-too-out there and yet not heard all that often, and it sounds really lovely with [name]Noah[/name] (also one of my favourite boys’ names!!). I also like [name]Elijah[/name], but I think [name]Noah[/name] and [name]Elijah[/name] might be a bit too Biblical together as a sibset - not that there’s anything wrong with that, but it might lead people to assume.

[name]Elias[/name] [name]Gray[/name] [name]Robinson[/name] is very handsome

[name]Elias[/name] is very popular in my religious community (Eastern Orthodox [name]Christian[/name]), and has been so for centuries. We tend to give the Greek variants of Hebrew names rather than the original Hebrew names. I personally know quite a few Eliases, from babies to octogenarians. It’s handsome and wears well.

I agree - [name]Elias[/name] is a great name and would make a wonderful brother to [name]Noah[/name].

[name]Elias[/name] is handsome and distinguished and I like it much better than [name]Elijah[/name] for [name]Noah[/name]'s brother. [name]Eli[/name] [name]Manning[/name] looks and sounds a lot better than [name]Elisha[/name] [name]Manning[/name]. [name]Elisha[/name] was a [name]MALE[/name] Biblical character so one female actress can’t change the gender preference in my opinion. I love [name]Elisha[/name] on a boy.

I prefer [name]Elias[/name] to [name]Elijah[/name], it’s much much nicer. It’s super popular in Norway, I know a few people with little [name]Elias[/name]'s. And [name]Noah[/name] and [name]Elias[/name] are great together!

I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Elias[/name]. It’s possibly my favourite boys name. I don’t like it in the biblical sense, but if that’s what your looking for, go for it. I like [name]Noah[/name] and [name]Elias[/name] together, as I’ve never been super fond of [name]Elijah[/name].

I like it. Very handsome and makes me think of [name]Elias[/name] [name]Howe[/name].

I think it’s soft & handsome & old fashioned in a good way. Like [name]Elijah[/name] or [name]Ezra[/name]. I picture a creative & artistic type.

I love [name]Noah[/name] and [name]Elias[/name] together.

Handsomely dignified, a bit old-fashioned sounding, but I like it. Has a real “boy-next-door” type feel for me.

Pronounced [name]El[/name]-eee-as or [name]El[/name]-eye-us? I prefer the former. But I’m Greek, so I am biased. Great name!

I love [name]Elias[/name]! I think [name]Noah[/name] and [name]Elias[/name] is just great. The story of [name]Eli[/name] puts me off, too (which is why [name]Elias[/name] always gets stuffed in the MN spot for me, I just don’t want an [name]Eli[/name]!), but [name]Noah[/name] and [name]Elias[/name] are so handsome together, and if you like the option of [name]Eli[/name] as a nn, I think it’s very handsome. And [name]Elias[/name] [name]Gray[/name] “[name]Robinson[/name]” is a great full name! I love it.

I love the name [name]Elias[/name]. I had an [name]Elias[/name] in my class last year (I teach 7th graders) and as a teacher you always grow to love one of your students names and his was it! This year I have an [name]Elie[/name](boy name) in my class ([name]Elie[/name] is pronounced like [name]Ali[/name] as in [name]Muhammad[/name] [name]Ali[/name]) and this is growing on me too. Good [name]Luck[/name] with the naming!
