[name]Edit[/name] - just looking for opinions on the name now rather than pronounciation?

[name]How[/name] do you pronounce the name Isola?

I’m not sure if it’s with an EYE sound or an I like in [name]Isobel[/name]? and is the s pronounced like a soft “s” or a harder “z”. I’m hoping it’s i-zola!! Lol.

I have just discovered this name thanks to [name]Auburn[/name] and think it’s very beautiful but want to make sure I’m saying it right.

I just replied to this on your other thread :slight_smile: According to some online pronunciation thingamabobs, isola the Italian word is pronounced EE-zoh-la, but the name Isola is ih-ZOH-la.

My first thought was ee-zola rather than either of the choices you mentioned. Not sure if that’s “right,” but to me that was the most obvious pronunciation.

That’s awesome thank you! ih-ZOH-la is exactly how I’d been saying it :slight_smile: I mentioned it to my partner and he said if it’s ih-ZOH-la he likes it :slight_smile: This could actually be a real contender now! What does everyone think of the name pronounciation aside?

Is it too weird or too out there?

I think with names liek [name]Isla[/name] and [name]Isobel[/name] so popular that it makes the name more accessible because it has similar sounds and I can also use the nn [name]Izzy[/name], but I do worry that people will look at me crazy when I say the name!?
