We’ve gone through alot of names from [name]Isabella[/name] to [name]Andromeda[/name] but we haven’t found a perfect name for our baby #2 yet. [name]Josephine[/name] isn’t really my taste, but it’s growing on me. I don’t think it’s “pretty” but it sounds kind of royal and elegant to me (Is it only me?). A bigger reason is I love the nickname [name]Posey[/name], which I can’t use as a first name because my husband thinks it’s too nicknamy. I’m still not sure about it, so I want to hear your opinions Which image comes up to your mind when you think of [name]Josephine[/name]? and does it go well with [name]Imogen[/name]? Thanks!
[name]Josephine[/name] is pretty! I think it feels a bit plain as a FN, but I love it as a MN. I also love [name]Josephina[/name]/[name]Josefina[/name], which feels more frilly and girly to me. But I completely agree with the added bonus of the nn [name]Posey[/name]! If I ever used [name]Josephine[/name]/[name]Josephina[/name]/[name]Josefina[/name] as a FN, her nickname would definitely be [name]Posey[/name]. I think it’s just too cute.
When I think of [name]Josephine[/name], I think of [name]Jo[/name] Lupo in the TV show Eureka… She’s kinda awesome, haha. But besides that, I also think of this adorable little girl in my mom’s kindergarten class at church. Her name is [name]Josephine[/name], nn [name]Josie[/name]. She’s really sweet, and she’s helped me to like the name more.
For the record, I like [name]Isabella[/name] more than [name]Josephine[/name], but I do think [name]Imogen[/name] and [name]Josephine[/name] are great together, and I adore [name]Posey[/name]!
Good luck!
[name]Josephine[/name] is not my favorite name but I do love the nickname [name]Posey[/name]! [name]Josephine[/name] makes me think of [name]Josephine[/name] [name]March[/name] from [name]Little[/name] Women which is a great association in my opinion. I like [name]Josephine[/name] better than [name]Isabella[/name] or [name]Andromeda[/name]!
I adore [name]Josephine[/name] but 2 things to think about: 1) I really don’t think you should name your daughter something that has to “grow on you”. You should [name]LOVE[/name] it! 2) [name]Josephine[/name] and [name]Imogen[/name] sounds too similar for me.
I am loving [name]Posey[/name] perhaps you can go with a different full name:
[name]Portia[/name]
[name]Paisley[/name] (too close?)
[name]Priscilla[/name]
[name]Patricia[/name]
or talk yourhubby into just going with [name]Posey[/name]!
It’s our first choice for our baby girl, due in [name]January[/name]. I am in [name]LOVE[/name] with it, clearly. But I agree with other posters, you should be smitten with it, or else it’s not right for you.
I love the nn [name]Posey[/name], and adore [name]Josephine[/name]. BUT you should be in love with your choice, and if you aren’t, it’s not your little girl’s name.
I love this name. It would be on my list if it weren’t for the fact that I have a family member with this name. It’s gorgeous.
[name]Josephine[/name] nn [name]Posey[/name] is a fabulous choice. Underused classic. and [name]Posey[/name] is so darling, and unusual, and subtle. [name]LOVE[/name] it!
Absolutely love [name]Josephine[/name], love it even more with [name]Athenais[/name] or Marcelite as a middle name even if it rhymes a little. I think [name]Josephine[/name] is suitable for all ages but there are lots of nickname choices too.
