What do you think of Juna?

[name]Hi[/name],
We’ve been re-thinking our first name shortlist recently (i’ve written about it in a previous post so won’t go into it here!) for our baby due in Feb, and the only name that we both love is [name]June[/name] in the middle spot. Since we both love it, I’ve been looking at [name]June[/name] variants for a first name. [name]Juniper[/name] is really cute and I’ve always loved it but DH isn’t keen. [name]Junia[/name] looks lovely but everyone will just think she’s called “[name]Junior[/name]”. But just now I came across [name]Juna[/name], the Danish version of [name]June[/name], in the database and I really really like it!

Would love some feedback and even some mn suggestions if you can think of anything (our style is pretty vintage/rockabilly/southern-hipster)

Thanks!

I’ve thought about it some more and I’m really loving [name]Juna[/name] [name]Delphine[/name]! What do you think Berries?

I think [name]Juna[/name] [name]Delphine[/name] is really great! It is unique and girly, without being overly frilly. I think it is a very solid choice

[name]LOVE[/name] [name]Juna[/name]! I’ve also been toying with [name]June[/name] as a middle name, but I’ve really started digging [name]Juna[/name] as a first lately. [name]Juna[/name] [name]Delphine[/name] is perfection!

Honestly, I much prefer just [name]June[/name]. [name]Juna[/name] [name]Delphine[/name] is a lovely combo, though.

Thanks for the feedback guys! [name]Glad[/name] everyone likes [name]Juna[/name] [name]Delphine[/name], now all I need to do is get DH to agree! I haven’t run that combo by him yet, I know he wasn’t too keen on [name]Delphine[/name] but I’m hoping that he’ll be ok with it in the middle spot and will be used to hearing it now because I keep bringing it up! Isn’t it scary when you have a combo you love but you don’t want to mention it in case it gets shot down? I’m also wondering how many times I’ll change my mind before this baby is born!

I hate that! I have so many combos that I absolutely [name]ADORE[/name]. But I am afraid to mention them to Dh, because if he hates them, I would be crushed!

I adore it! It’s unique and girly without being too frilly. You could call her [name]June[/name] or [name]Junie[/name], two adorable nicknames

I think I may prefer [name]Djuna[/name] to [name]Juna[/name], personally, although I can’t really explain why. It may just be because I encountered [name]Djuna[/name] before I did [name]Juna[/name]. [name]Juna[/name] [name]Delphine[/name] is a lovely, solid choice! I think it would serve your daughter well throughout her life, and, to me, it perfectly fits “vintage/rockabilly/southern-hipster.”

[name]Juna[/name] is lovely!

FWIW I’ve written in other posts (can’t remember if it was here) about how [name]Junia[/name] and [name]Junior[/name] sound not that much alike in my accent – [name]Junior[/name] is Jyunyer and [name]Junia[/name] is Joo-nee-a. Still relatively close in the grand scheme of things but pretty clearly distinct - although if your accent is totally different that won’t help any : D – [name]Junia[/name] is much more likely to be confused for [name]Julia[/name] than for [name]Junior[/name] when I say it (still sort of a problem, I’d admit).

Anyway, [name]Juna[/name] [name]Delphine[/name] is gorgeous and good luck!
