[name]Waverley[/name] - love it! I prefer [name]Waverly[/name], though.
[name]Wren[/name] - adore it! It’s a mn on my own list.
[name]Charlotte[/name] nn [name]Lottie[/name] - again, I adore it! [name]Charlotte[/name] is on my own list. If I didn’t love the nn [name]Lola[/name] so much for it, I would probably opt for [name]Lottie[/name]. I really adore both.
[name]Penelope[/name] - I’ve been really liking this lately! It’s not a personal favorite of mine, but I do really like it.
[name]Amelie[/name] nn [name]Ellie[/name] - I love [name]Amelie[/name], it was my best friend’s name, but I am not a huge [name]Ellie[/name] fan. I do love [name]Millie[/name] and [name]Lily[/name] for it, though.
[name]Isla[/name] / [name]Isra[/name] (Eye-ruh) - I like [name]Isla[/name], but I can’t really imagine it on anyone. It seems more like a pretty word than a beautiful name, if that makes sense. It is lovely, though. I don’t really like [name]Isra[/name]; I feel like it should be said like EES-rah or IZ-rah.
[name]Maeve[/name] - meh. I want to like it, but I just can’t see the appeal.
[name]Elizabeth[/name] - love the classic [name]Elizabeth[/name]! I prefer the softer [name]Elisabeth[/name] spelling, though–plus, I love the connection to my [name]German[/name] and French ancestry, since it’s the [name]German[/name]/French spelling. I like that the [name]Elisabeth[/name] spelling is a lot less predictable, too.
[name]Lucy[/name] - meh. I’m not the hugest [name]Lucy[/name] fan. I’ve been appreciating it more lately, but I don’t [name]LOVE[/name] it.
[name]Matilda[/name] - I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Tilly[/name], but I’m not really a [name]Matilda[/name] fan. I can’t really see me using it, and I like [name]Madeleine[/name] much more. It’s still nice, though.
[name]Audrey[/name] nn [name]Ree[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Audrey[/name]! I’m positively smitten with it lately. I’m not sure it’s going to make the cut, but I really adore it.
[name]Josephine[/name] nn [name]Josie[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Josephine[/name], but I’m not a huge fan of [name]Josie[/name]. I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Posy[/name] as a nn for [name]Josephine[/name], though.
[name]Mila[/name] (mee-luh) - I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Camilla[/name] (cah-MILL-ah) and [name]Camille[/name], but I’m not a huge [name]Mila[/name] fan. I don’t even love [name]Milla[/name], but I like it more than [name]Mila[/name], which has always seemed too exotic/sexy for me.
[name]Adeline[/name] (add-uh-line) - [name]ADORE[/name] it! It’s definitely on my top 20, it just doesn’t make my top 10.
[name]Paloma[/name] - meh. I love the meaning, and the nn [name]Lola[/name], but I don’t love the full name, though.
[name]Elodie[/name] - I named my car [name]Elodie[/name].
I don’t [name]LOVE[/name] it for a future child of mine, but I do like the name, and I love the nns (particularly [name]Ella[/name], [name]Lola[/name], [name]Lottie[/name], and Liddy.
[name]Caroline[/name] - I quite like it.
I love the nn [name]Cara[/name], and I love that it reminds me of [name]Jane[/name] [name]Austen[/name], but I hate that it reminds me of [name]Caroline[/name] Bingley.
[name]Margaret[/name] nn [name]Maisie[/name] - I quite like [name]Margaret[/name], but I like [name]Maggie[/name] and [name]Greta[/name] much better as nns. [name]Maisie[/name] is cute, though.
[name]Delilah[/name] - the religious implications still bother me, even though most people don’t mind. I do love Elila, though, and I love the nn [name]Lila[/name].
[name]Madeleine[/name] - love [name]Madeleine[/name]! I don’t think I’ll ever love it enough to use it as a FN, but I do find it beautiful as a MN. [name]Zara[/name] [name]Madeleine[/name] was a combo on my long list for years, and I still love it.
[name]Hanna[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Hannah[/name], it’s on my top 10, and I like the Japanese [name]Hana[/name], but I don’t love the [name]Hanna[/name] spelling quite so much. It’s always seemed imbalanced to me.
[name]Elowen[/name] - meh. I like [name]Elodie[/name] more.
[name]Mairead[/name] - I’m not a huge Irish/Gaelic names fan, and [name]Mairead[/name] isn’t really my cup of tea. I think it’d be pretty hard to wear, but it is a nice enough name.
and for boys:
[name]Rhys[/name] - love [name]Rhys[/name]! I’m part Welsh, and [name]Rhys[/name] is one of my favorite Welsh names (along with [name]Bryn[/name] and [name]Ianto[/name] for boys).
[name]Gaelan[/name] - I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Caelan[/name], but [name]Gaelan[/name], not quite so much.
[name]Sawyer[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name] the literary [name]Sawyer[/name]. It’s pretty amazing.
[name]Kieran[/name] - I love it, but I only really like the Gaelic spelling–[name]Ciaran[/name].
[name]Declan[/name] - another one I love. I don’t really love Gaelic girls’ names, but I love Gaelic boys’ names! [name]Declan[/name] was on my top 10 for a short while.
My favorites are [name]Wren[/name], [name]Adeline[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Audrey[/name], [name]Penelope[/name], [name]Josephine[/name], [name]Elodie[/name], [name]Hannah[/name], and [name]Elisabeth[/name]/[name]Elizabeth[/name] for a girl, and [name]Rhys[/name], [name]Declan[/name], [name]Sawyer[/name], and [name]Ciaran[/name]/[name]Kieran[/name] for boys.
