What do you think of the boy name Franklin?

Also, does anyone know how to pronounce the boy name ‘Este’? I think it’s Italian.
Thanks!

I like [name]Franklin[/name]! It makes me think of [name]Benjamin[/name] [name]Franklin[/name] and [name]Franklin[/name] [name]Delano[/name] [name]Roosevelt[/name] who are both really cool.
[name]Franklin[/name] is definitely on the so-far-out-it’s-in end of things, I can imagine you taking some flak from some people over the name, but if you love it enough it’s worth it. It’s the sort of name that can grown on people, especially nn’d as [name]Frank[/name] or [name]Frankie[/name].

I would guess Ay-stay (well, sort of between that and eh-steh) for Este. That is literally the Spanish word for “this” or “this one”, so I really find it hard to imagine as a real name, but maybe it is. If you heard someone calling their kid that, it might have been a Spanish speaker literally saying “this one” (like, this kid). It also seems like it might be a nickname for [name]Esteban[/name] or something like that? It also makes me think of [name]Estee[/name], the French girls’ name alluding to stars (like [name]Estee[/name] Lauder).

Good luck!

[name]Franklin[/name] has so many wonderful associations, as jesba noted. I love it!

I love [name]Franklin[/name], and I think the nickname [name]Frankie[/name] would be great.

I love Franklin too. It’s so distinguished and refreshing in this day and age. Franklin is one of those so-uncool-it’s-cool names and fits with the current trends of vintage revivals, surnames, and two syllable names ending in -n.

I have a great character named Frank/Franklin, so I’m biased. However, I find Franklin very handsome and solid.
