What do you think of the invented, gender neutral name Iilf

**Iilf** — An invented, gender-neutral name formed from initials representing **I** (the first person pronoun), Intelligence, [name_f]Love[/name_f], and [name_f]Freedom[/name_f]. Its meaning is “personal favorite” and pronounced as “yilf”.

no way I would ever get that pronunciation on my own

furthermore, anything -ilf just reminds me of the MILF/DILF abbreviation

[name_m]Just[/name_m] to clarify, I envision **Iilf** as a gender-neutral name that a person could choose for themselves as a form of self-renaming, rather than as a name intended primarily for babies. Its meaning is “personal favorite.”

I’ve never seen a name like this before. [name_m]The[/name_m] concept of choosing a name for yourself based on your own values is really interesting! I’m curious about how you settled on the pronunciation.

After putting the letters together, I realized the name was already pronounceable. To represent both I’s, I decided to pronounce the first I as a consonant, with a soft Y sound. For reference, it sounds like “MILF/DILF,” as sparkleninja18 mentioned, but with a Y instead of an M or D. I found that pronunciation easier and more calming to hear, so I happily stuck with it.

I’m mostly thinking that re-arranging the letters to FILI would still give you the same underlying words, a sound that’s more recognizably a name, a more intuitive pronunciation and avoid the -ilf ending. But if Iilf is what you like for yourself, good for you.

I appreciate the suggestion, but I prefer Iilf because I like its originality and it’s how I first created the name. I also want to keep the order of I (the pronoun), Intelligence, [name_f]Love[/name_f], and [name_f]Freedom[/name_f], as each part matters to me. As a first impression, Iilf can also be read as “I + ilf,” which coincidentally feels close to the meaning “personal favorite,” as if saying “I [am my] personal favorite.” I like that this connection emerges naturally from the name rather than changing its original form to [name_m]Fili[/name_m].
