What do you think of the name Clara? trendy?

Hello berries,
You’ve all been so helpful already! What do you think of the name [name]Clara[/name]? It is number 1 in [name]France[/name] and I fear it will be trendy in [name]North[/name] [name]America[/name]. [name]Will[/name] there be a couple in my daughter’s class?
Thanks in advance!

[name]Clara[/name] is classic, not trendy. It is beautiful but gaining popularity fast.

No! I would never assume that [name]Clara[/name] is trendy! [name]Clara[/name] is a vintage classic, underused in my opinion in the US. Yes, [name]Claire[/name] has been around the block, but even I wouldn’t consider [name]Claire[/name] to be too trendy or popular. There is a difference between trendy and popular, and I don’t see [name]Clara[/name] as fitting into either category at this point.

By the way, I love [name]Clara[/name], and I always say that it reminds me of [name]Clara[/name] ([name]Clarissa[/name]) [name]Barton[/name], who was my “childhood hero” - I wanted to be a nurse when I was a little girl because of her…

I agree that [name]Clara[/name] is a classic name that is NOT trendy. I can see it on a little girl or a grown woman.

[name]Clara[/name] is a lovely choice. [name]May[/name] be a little trendy in [name]North[/name] [name]America[/name] and might be a few in your daughter’s class. If you are concerned with this, why not consider [name]Clarice[/name]. It is also French and has a similar meaning to [name]Clara[/name] of clear or bright. I kinda prefer [name]Clarice[/name] to [name]Clara[/name], a little more feminine for me.
Good luck:)

I think it’s classic and beautiful - not trendy.

It is gaining in popularity, but I don’t think [name]Clara[/name] will ever become dated, which to me is the hallmark of a trendy name. It’s a beautiful choice and translates to both english and french

I really like it. I think it’s very pretty & feminine. It’s one of the names I’m considering. I like both [name]Clara[/name] and [name]Claire[/name]. But, I’m leaning towards [name]Clara[/name] because it’s less common. I don’t consider it trendy & haven’t met any little girls with that name. In 2009, it was ranked 199 on the social security list. [name]Even[/name] if does become more popular, I think the Claras would be younger and not in the same class as my daughter.
What middle names are you considering?

[name]Clara[/name] is beautiful!

I used to love it! I don’t think it’s trendy

[name]Clara[/name] in far from trendy. It is vintage and timeless imo. [name]Ive[/name] never met a [name]Clara[/name] so I doubt she will be one of 3 in her class.

love it…reminds me of the ballet and Nutcracker…much prettier than [name]Claire[/name].

Not trendy at all… just beautiful and classic! I don’t recall ever meeting anyone with the name.

There’s a difference between trendy and popular. [name]Clara[/name] is not trendy. For example, [name]Katherine[/name] and [name]Elizabeth[/name] are always popular, but never trendy.

Thank you for these opinions on the name [name]Clara[/name]. [name]Audrey[/name] (big sis) had one in her preschool class. I am considering middle names [name]Ana[/name] and [name]Brigitte[/name].

[name]Clara[/name] could never be trend y, but I do get the feeling that it’s trend ing up. I have met two baby Claras and one new mom was going to go with [name]Clara[/name] if she had ended up with a girl. I would not be surprised to see it much more often. It’s a good alternative or sister to [name]Anna[/name].

thank you, i am just realizing it it way too similar to my own name so considering [name]Claire[/name]…
I keep trying…
