What do you think of the name Gracelyn?

[name_m]How[/name_m] do you guys like the name [name_f]Gracelyn[/name_f]? Nickname [name_f]Gracie[/name_f]

I think it’s a trendy name, like many other newly seen -lyn names. That said, I think it’s very pretty. The name provides lots of nicknames, so [name_f]Gracie[/name_f] can be [name_f]Grace[/name_f] in high school if she wants to. It’s sweet.

It’s nice enough but I just think of Graceland (home of [name_m]Elvis[/name_m]). [name_f]Grace[/name_f] or even just [name_f]Gracie[/name_f] would be nicer

[name_f]Gracelyn[/name_f] makes me think of [name_m]Elvis[/name_m] too. It just looks like another name that follows a certain popular trend: pick any name and stick a “lyn” onto it and it’s “unique”. Well, it’s not really unusual at all. I much prefer just [name_f]Grace[/name_f].

I agree with what the others said…the -lyn ending makes it too trendy for my tastes. I much prefer [name_f]Grace[/name_f].

yep, this.

If you really love it I’d make it a First and Middle. [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_u]Lynn[/name_u]

Drop the -lyn and stick to [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. Or what about [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Linnea[/name_f]?

Yep, I’m just going to parrot everyone else-- the tacked-on “lyn” makes it sound overly trendy/annoying. I’d actually prefer Graceland, since that at least has history as a place-name. I also like people’s suggestions of [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] and [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Linnea[/name_f]–making it a double-barrel [name_f]Grace[/name_f]-[name_u]Lynn[/name_u] also makes it much more palatable, in my opinion.

[name_u]Love[/name_u] this suggestion!!

[name_f]Grace[/name_f], in my opinion, is one of the world’s most beautiful names. The lyn on the end makes me cringe.

I don’t like it when people just add -lyn on the end of names to try and make them more unique and creative like [name_f]Gracelyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Skylynn[/name_f]. [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is so much prettier.

Graceland is all I can think of. I think it is close enough that my brain just goes to [name_m]Elvis[/name_m]!

I like [name_f]Gracelyn[/name_f]; I think it’s a fine name. I know one, actually. She’s 4 years old and a little fashionista, but she goes by “[name_f]Gracie[/name_f]” most of the time. If you want a longer name to get down to [name_f]Gracie[/name_f] or [name_f]Grace[/name_f], I think it’s a nice name.

I agree, less is definitely more - why spoil such a beautiful name? [name_f]Grace[/name_f] gets my vote!

You guys don’t think grace is too common? I kinda like the idea of two names …how would I go about that always saying both names? [name_m]Will[/name_m] they use both names in school?

Oddly, [name_f]Gracelynn[/name_f] feels more “common” even though there are more Graces, because it has that trendy “smoosh” thing with [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] tacked onto a name. I’d find [name_f]Grace[/name_f] fresher than [name_f]Gracelynn[/name_f].

But when you want a double name, it IS tricky to figure out how to get people to use both. I see how [name_f]Gracelynn[/name_f] can be the easiest option because both names are right there. But if she goes by [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] 100% of the time and introduces herself as that, they’ll get it at school. A lot of teachers include preferred name in the beginning-of-year forms, which helps. You could also think of a hyphen - [name_f]Grace[/name_f]-[name_u]Lynn[/name_u] - so the names aren’t so smooshed but they’ll both show up in the first name field on forms. I knew a [name_f]Mary[/name_f]-[name_f]Grace[/name_f] once and she got by okay.

[name_f]Grace[/name_f] and [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] are both lovely. I hope you find a solution that works!

I love [name_f]Grace[/name_f], but [name_f]Gracelyn[/name_f] feels way too trendy [name_f]IMO[/name_f]. [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is timeless and elegant.

[name_f]Grace[/name_f] is beautiful. [name_f]Gracelyn[/name_f] is not.

I don’t care for the add lynn, lee, leigh to the end of everything to create new names. It is way over done.

I prefer just [name_f]Grace[/name_f] as a name but, [name_f]Gracelyn[/name_f] isn’t bad. I do know a girl with a double name that’s [name_f]Grace[/name_f]-[name_f]Anne[/name_f].
