And if anyone is wondering or wanting to make other suggestions!
The criteria for choosing a name were: nothing in the top 1000 currently for the first name.
3 syllables for the girl name, 2 syllables for the boy (to match our sibset trend).
The oldest 2 have -n ending middles, so I think the next 2 should have -y ending middles.
No repeating letters for the first name.
Are those your little ones in the picture? They’re adorable.
[name_m]Atlas[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] is great with your kids’ names, but [name_f]Ottoline[/name_f] [name_m]Callaway[/name_m] feels too… random, I guess? I would expect something more along the lines of [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], [name_f]Olive[/name_f], or [name_f]Adele[/name_f]. [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] immediately came to mind for her middle name. Some three syllable first name ideas:
I adore [name_f]Ottoline[/name_f] [name_m]Callaway[/name_m]! I’m not a fan of [name_m]Atlas[/name_m], I prefer [name_m]Atticus[/name_m], but it’s still nice.
If you aren’t sold on [name_f]Ottoline[/name_f], how about:
Southern.maple, yes, those are my littles in the pic. Thank you! I had quite a few of the names you suggested on my long list, but alas, dh is super picky. I have a long time love for [name_f]Harriet[/name_f], but he does not like it at all. We also considered [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f], [name_f]Agatha[/name_f], [name_f]Coralie[/name_f], [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f], [name_f]Romilly[/name_f], [name_f]Ramona[/name_f], and [name_f]Theodora[/name_f].
I like both [name_f]Ottoline[/name_f] [name_m]Callaway[/name_m] and [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. The combos are both gorgeous!
They are a bit more “out there” than your other kiddos’ names. To me, [name_f]Ottoline[/name_f] and [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] feel like the slightly eccentric Aunt and Uncle to [name_f]Eloise[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], and [name_m]Foster[/name_m]. Maybe you’re okay with that… after all, our tastes do tend to evolve over time. So putting the first names together, it would be: [name_f]Eloise[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], [name_m]Foster[/name_m], and [name_f]Ottoline[/name_f] OR [name_f]Eloise[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], [name_m]Foster[/name_m], and [name_m]Atlas[/name_m].
I like the suggestions of [name_f]Harriet[/name_f], [name_f]Rowena[/name_f], [name_f]Constance[/name_f], and [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f]. These feel “sweeter” and “more precious” to me than [name_f]Ottoline[/name_f]… more in line with the sweetness of [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] and [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f].
I would add [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Winifred[/name_f], [name_f]Temperance[/name_f], [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f], [name_f]Saphira[/name_f], [name_f]Regina[/name_f], and [name_f]Eugenie[/name_f] or [name_f]Eugenia[/name_f].
I like the suggestion of [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] for a boy… much the same feel as [name_m]Atlas[/name_m], but leaning ever so slightly toward the more traditional, “proper” feel of [name_m]Foster[/name_m] (though I realize [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] is 3 syllables, not 2.)
I would add [name_u]Wendell[/name_u], [name_m]Walter[/name_m], [name_m]Ivan[/name_m], [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], [name_m]Fredrick[/name_m], [name_m]Didier[/name_m], [name_m]Truman[/name_m], [name_m]Edmond[/name_m], [name_m]Regis[/name_m], [name_m]Milton[/name_m], [name_m]Chester[/name_m], and [name_u]Howard[/name_u].
As for middles, I adore [name_m]Henry[/name_m]! I can’t think of any possible suggestion.
[name_m]Callaway[/name_m]… I like it. It’s so different, it fascinates me. Is there a story behind it?
[name_m]Atlas[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] definitely works with [name_m]Foster[/name_m] [name_m]Kingsley[/name_m]. I would like [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] too.
I like [name_f]Ottoline[/name_f], but with [name_m]Callaway[/name_m] it’s a bit long/clunky next to your other girls?
Keeping with more masculine/unisex middles, just a few other ideas:
[name_m]Atlas[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] is awesome here. [name_f]Ottoline[/name_f] feels a bit distant than your others, but I love your idea of [name_f]Coralie[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Coralie[/name_f] is perfect here.
