Hey guys!
These names have been peaking my interest lately. What do you think , what would be good combo ideas , what kind of person do you imagine them and which is your favorite? I am also open to any suggestions based off this list -
[name_f]Mosley[/name_f]
[name_u]Newlyn[/name_u] (Celtic name)
[name_f]Avril[/name_f]
[name_u]Remi[/name_u]
Macklin {I’ve put this in the girls tab but I like it for both}
[name_f]Evanna[/name_f]
[name_u]Ashby[/name_u]
[name_u]Kendall[/name_u]
[name_u]Meredith[/name_u]
[name_u]Colby[/name_u]
[name_f]Elke[/name_f] {Pronounced [name_f]El-ka[/name_f]}
[name_u]Brighton[/name_u]
[name_f] Raelyn [/name_f]
[name_u] Porter [/name_u]
[name_f] Bristol [/name_f] {I know about the Bristol Palin thing and whilst I’m not republican by any means it doesn’t bother awfully.}
[name_u]Chandler[/name_u]
[name_f]Bonnie[/name_f]
[name_u]Shiloh[/name_u]
[name_u]Keaton[/name_u] {I like it for both genders}
[name_u]Merritt[/name_u] {I like it for both genders}
[name_f]Revel[/name_f]
I’ll give it a go.
[name_f]Mosley[/name_f] - At first I pronounced it Moseley, but noticed the first e is missing. I would be torn whether to say it as “moz-lee” or “moss-lee”. I don’t really care for either option.
[name_u]Newlyn[/name_u] (Celtic name) - if it has Celtic history, that’s pretty cool but at first glance it just looks like one of those new age “let’s-add-lyn-to-every-phrase-and-make-it-a-name” creations.
[name_f]Avril[/name_f] - I think it is both pretty and very strong, as it makes me (and a good many others i’m sure) think of [name_f]Avril[/name_f] Lavigne. I think this name is tragically under appreciated.
[name_u]Remi[/name_u] - I have a male cat named [name_u]Remy[/name_u], but I don’t mind it on a girl. It’s not really my style though. I do have [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] nn [name_u]Romy[/name_u] on my list though.
Macklin {I’ve put this in the girls tab but I like it for both} - see [name_u]Newlyn[/name_u].
[name_f]Evanna[/name_f] - it’s a pretty name, with a sort of an exotic flair but approachable and sweet nicknames. Thumbs up.
[name_u]Ashby[/name_u] - I really like [name_u]Ashby[/name_u], it sounds so bubbly and reminds me of my best friend [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] but without being overused. I would love to meet a little girl named [name_u]Ashby[/name_u].
[name_u]Kendall[/name_u]- I don’t think [name_u]Kendall[/name_u] fits on a girl very well. Come to think of it I dislike it on a boy as well. I’m just not a fan, personally.
[name_u]Meredith[/name_u] - very nice name, though I know more than a few my age. But I don’t think it’s dated or anything, and as a [name_u]Grey[/name_u]'s fan I must give it a thumbs up.
[name_u]Colby[/name_u] - Not for a girl. Cute for a boy.
[name_f]Elke[/name_f] {Pronounced [name_f]El[/name_f]-ka} - energetic, elegant, and exotic - it’s a winner in my book. It’s like [name_f]Ella[/name_f] 2.0
[name_u]Brighton[/name_u] - I actually like [name_u]Bright[/name_u] for a girl, but since [name_u]Brighton[/name_u] is already an established boy name, I can’t picture it on a girl.
[name_f]Raelyn[/name_f] - See [name_u]Newlyn[/name_u]/Macklin.
[name_u]Porter[/name_u] - Are we still talking about girls names? Once again, I prefer it on a boy. Some -er names I like on girls, like [name_u]Parker[/name_u], others just don’t seem to fit.
[name_u]Bristol[/name_u] {I know about the [name_u]Bristol[/name_u] [name_u]Palin[/name_u] thing and whilst I’m not republican by any means it doesn’t bother awfully.} - I don’t know much about [name_u]Bristol[/name_u] [name_u]Palin[/name_u], but I do think it has given the name [name_u]Bristol[/name_u] a stigma. I would avoid it.
[name_u]Chandler[/name_u] - Not bad on a girl, though I don’t love it. Makes me think of “Friends” more than anything, but not in a bad way.
[name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] - I have yet to meet a [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] I like, so the name doesn’t bode well with me.
[name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] - I like it for a girl, it’s soft and a little mysterious but pretty.
[name_u]Keaton[/name_u] {I like it for both genders} - I would heavily assume [name_u]Keaton[/name_u] was a boy. I don’t think it sounds nice at all for a girl.
[name_u]Merritt[/name_u] {I like it for both genders} - I actually like this, it sounds so lively and cheerful. I can also see it on both genders.
[name_f]Revel[/name_f] - a bit wild as word names go, but it reminds me of [name_u]Rebel[/name_u] [name_m]Wilson[/name_m]. The right girl could certainly pull it off.
Basically you like a lot of gender benders while I’m rather opposed to the trend.
what would be good combo ideas
[name_f]Mosley[/name_f] - I don’t like the look of this name, I associate it with the last name, and can’t really see it working as a girls name.
[name_u]Newlyn[/name_u] (Celtic name) - It both looks and sounds like a modern, made up name to me. Not sure if I like it or not…
[name_f]Avril[/name_f] - I prefer [name_f]April[/name_f], and I don’t really like [name_f]Avril[/name_f].
[name_u]Remi[/name_u] - I don’t like this name at all. Where I’m from, it’s seen as a tacky name.
Macklin {I’ve put this in the girls tab but I like it for both} - I don’t really care for any names starting with [name_m]Mack[/name_m]-, and this name just sounds ridiculous in my ears.
[name_f]Evanna[/name_f] - I quite like this name. Endless nickname options. [name_f]Eva[/name_f], [name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Evie[/name_f], [name_f]Ann[/name_f], [name_f]Annie[/name_f]…
[name_u]Ashby[/name_u] -
[name_u]Kendall[/name_u] - While I know a couple girl Kendalls and they’re both nice girls, I don’t really like the name. Sounds like you’re saying “ken doll”. It’s not the worst name though.
[name_u]Meredith[/name_u] - I like this, and is one of my favorites from your list. It’s elegant and old fashioned without being dated. I also know a cat named [name_u]Meredith[/name_u].
[name_u]Colby[/name_u] - I know a boy named [name_u]Colby[/name_u], and he’s not a very nice kid. [name_f]Do[/name_f] not like.
[name_f]Elke[/name_f] {Pronounced [name_f]El[/name_f]-ka} - Also a favorite, I think this has a spunky edge to it that girls names need in 2016.
[name_u]Brighton[/name_u] - A lovely UK city, and also a lovely name for a girl. Plus the nickname [name_u]Bright[/name_u] is just darling.
[name_f]Raelyn[/name_f] - Like [name_u]Newlyn[/name_u], this just sounds like a made up name, and I don’t like it. Come to think of it, I’m not really a fan of names ending in -lyn.
[name_u]Porter[/name_u] - I prefer this on a boy, but I’m not really a big fan either way.
[name_u]Bristol[/name_u] {I know about the [name_u]Bristol[/name_u] [name_u]Palin[/name_u] thing and whilst I’m not republican by any means it doesn’t bother awfully.} - I dislike this name a lot. [name_u]Brighton[/name_u] is a much better option.
[name_u]Chandler[/name_u] - Immediately makes me think of friends, and I don’t really like this as a girls name.
[name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] - This is one of the nicknamey names that I don’t really like. I think it’s one of those old fashioned names that are still too outdated.
[name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] - Another favorite from the list. It’s mysterious and the o-ending makes it a very nice choice for a girl.
[name_u]Keaton[/name_u] {I like it for both genders} - Like [name_u]Porter[/name_u] and [name_u]Chandler[/name_u], I don’t like this for a girl at all. Not really keen on it either way, but def not for a girl.
[name_u]Merritt[/name_u] {I like it for both genders} - This name is okay. I don’t really care for it myself, but I think it could work for both a boy and girl.
[name_f]Revel[/name_f] - This is such a cool name, and a very fresh option to all the other used-up word names out there.
My favorites are [name_u]Meredith[/name_u], [name_f]Elke[/name_f], [name_u]Brighton[/name_u] and [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u].
I like [name_u]Brighton[/name_u] & [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] a lot!
I like [name_f]Avril[/name_f] and [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f]
[name_f]Mosley[/name_f] - isn’t this the name of a footman on Downtown [name_u]Abbey[/name_u]? I dislike it.
[name_u]Newlyn[/name_u] - cool name!
[name_f]Avril[/name_f] - I’ve always liked this name
[name_u]Remi[/name_u] - I only like it pronounced the [name_m]French[/name_m] way - ray-MEE - with emphasis on the second syllable
Macklin {I’ve put this in the girls tab but I like it for both} - as in [name_m]Burt[/name_m] Macklin, from [name_m]Parks[/name_m] and Recreation? I don’t mind [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u], but Macklin rhymes with “Mackin” which is slang for picking up/cruising/hitting on. I don’t recommend this.
[name_f]Evanna[/name_f] - if Trump gets voted in… this names sounds too much like [name_f]Ivana[/name_f].
[name_u]Ashby[/name_u] - very cool
[name_u]Kendall[/name_u] - sounds like “ken doll”
[name_u]Meredith[/name_u] - beautiful
[name_u]Colby[/name_u] - it’s a cheese. I do like [name_m]Cole[/name_m] for a girl, though.
[name_f]Elke[/name_f] {Pronounced [name_f]El[/name_f]-ka} - beautiful name
[name_u]Brighton[/name_u] - I love this name, seems sophisticated.
[name_f]Raelyn[/name_f] - lacks sophistication, doesn’t sound smart.
[name_u]Porter[/name_u] - feels awkward
[name_u]Bristol[/name_u] - doesn’t bother you? It should. Especially since it bothers others, including me. You may think me shallow, but I’d walk away from anyone introduced to me as “[name_u]Bristol[/name_u]” in a split second and never look back.
[name_u]Chandler[/name_u] - no
[name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] - lovely
[name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] - great name
[name_u]Keaton[/name_u] {I like it for both genders} - i like it for both, too
[name_u]Merritt[/name_u] {I like it for both genders} - i like for a girl, only
[name_f]Revel[/name_f] - like it
[name_u]LOVE[/name_u]

[name_u]Ashby[/name_u]
[name_u]Meredith[/name_u]

[name_u]Merritt[/name_u]

[name_u]Kendall[/name_u]
[name_f]DO[/name_f] NOT RECOMMEND
[name_u]Chandler[/name_u]
[name_u]Bristol[/name_u]
[name_u]Porter[/name_u]
[name_u]Colby[/name_u]
[name_f]Evanna[/name_f]
Macklin
[name_f]Mosley[/name_f]
Thank you guys! I think [name_f]Mosley[/name_f] , Macklin and [name_u]Bristol[/name_u] are off the list. I didn’t think of the [name_m]Donald[/name_m] Trump thing before you mentioned it [name_f]Anya[/name_f] so I’m going to have to reconsider that one too. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you guys have any combo suggestions or suggestions for other names I may have overlooked?
Some new ones I am considering (don’t have to look at these if you don’t want to. [name_m]Just[/name_m] putting them in case they help you)
[name_u]Alcott[/name_u] (boy or girl don’t mind)
[name_f]Zara[/name_f]
[name_f]Myra[/name_f]
[name_f]Yasmina[/name_f]
[name_f]Colette[/name_f]
I love [name_f]Elke[/name_f]
