What do you think of

[name_f]Tia[/name_f]?

I know it doesn’t have a particularly powerful meaning, but I’m started to think its short, sweet, cute, and familiar but unique. Honest opinions, please - this may just be one of my random name-phases that will quickly pass.

I’m not a fan but I think that’s mainly because I’ve lived in [name_u]Texas[/name_u] my entire life and am extremely familiar with “tia” as the actual Hispanic term for “aunt.” It is something I hear used a lot in that context, so it sounds weird for it to be used as a standalone, given name.

If you really love the name, perhaps you could use it as a nickname for a more lengthy name? Like:

[name_f]Tatiana[/name_f]

[name_f]Valentia[/name_f]

[name_f]Celestia[/name_f]

[name_f]Cynthia[/name_f]

[name_f]Nastia[/name_f]

[name_f]Katia[/name_f]

I also prefer [name_f]Tia[/name_f] as a nn! It is a super cute one

Ideas ~

[name_f]Tiana[/name_f]
[name_f]Talia[/name_f]
[name_f]Tatia[/name_f]
[name_f]Tulia[/name_f]

I love it as a stand-alone name. I think it’s feminine and yet short and sweet with a hint of spunk. Some of the Tias I’ve known have a middle name that is easily tacked onto [name_f]Tia[/name_f] if you like having an option to elongate it (almost like a reverse nickname) but prefer to have [name_f]Tia[/name_f] as the stand-alone first name - for example [name_f]Tia[/name_f] [name_f]Bella[/name_f] was one of the girls I knew with that name - [name_f]Bella[/name_f] was her middle name, but we would call her ‘[name_f]Tia[/name_f] [name_f]Bella[/name_f]’ as a pet name/name of endearment (a ‘reverse nickname’ in that it’s longer than the full name, but still said affectionately like a nickname).

I like [name_f]Tia[/name_f]. I think it works well as a stand-alone name.

All I hear is “aunt” — not a fan. Prefer [name_f]Bria[/name_f], [name_f]Fia[/name_f], [name_f]Gia[/name_f], even [name_f]Dia[/name_f].

But I agree that it would make a cute nickname!

Im not a fan of [name_f]Tia[/name_f] alone, reminds me of [name_u]Zia[/name_u], Italian for aunt. It can work as a nickname though
