We are still completely lost on a name for boy. We were thinking about [name_m]Xavien[/name_m] [name_m]Anthem[/name_m] [name_u]Dean[/name_u] but now I’m not sure about [name_m]Xavien[/name_m] anymore and I don’t like anything similar to it. We chose [name_m]Anthem[/name_m] together and have decided it stays and [name_u]Dean[/name_u] is a family name on his side and I agreed he could keep it as long as he’s sure that is what he wants.
Our son is [name_u]Salem[/name_u] [name_m]Mitchell[/name_m] DaleReign [name_u]Collins[/name_u].
We have two pets, a dog names Razelia [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and a rabbit named Breyer [name_u]Jaxx[/name_u].
I’m not so much a fan of [name_f]Maia[/name_f] [name_u]Echo[/name_u] [name_u]Nyx[/name_u], myself. Perhaps this is a very, very niche reference, but there is a superhero whose super name is [name_u]Echo[/name_u] and whose real, street name is [name_f]Maya[/name_f]. I’m not sure many other people in the world would make that connection, but that’s just my immediate thought!
I think [name_f]Mazikeen[/name_f] is really, really cool. She’s full of familiar sounds and popular ones at that, but meshed together in quite a unique way. I’ve never seen a name quite like it, and I’m totally enamoured. [name_f]Mazikeen[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_u]Fei[/name_u] also has a great flow. I just really enjoy the spunk and spice of this whole name! Plus… the nickname potential? Off the charts! [name_m]Mazi[/name_m], Keke, [name_u]Zeke[/name_u], [name_u]Maz[/name_u], [name_f]May[/name_f], [name_f]Lil[/name_f], etc… I really do enjoy this name!

I wouldn’t have known that myself but my fiance is a huge [name_u]Marvel[/name_u] fan so I feel like in theory he knew that. You are one of the very few that actually like [name_f]Mazikeen[/name_f]. Everyone else has given me such hate for it because of it’s meaning and the connection to the tv series [name_m]Lucifer[/name_m]. [name_f]Maze[/name_f] was actually going to be her nickname but I like [name_m]Mazi[/name_m]. I like the suggestions of [name_u]Jasper[/name_u] and [name_u]Quinlan[/name_u]. However [name_u]Quinlan[/name_u] remind me of Quinland which is an unincorporated community where we are from.
I love [name_f]Maia[/name_f] [name_u]Echo[/name_u] [name_u]Nyx[/name_u]. It has big main character energy, while [name_f]Mazikeen[/name_f] feels more like an animal sidekick kind of name to me. I’m not a big name meaning person but the “bad spirit” associations with [name_f]Mazikeen[/name_f] would also bother me.

I love the nickname [name_f]Maze[/name_f], too! I’m a [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] nicknamed [name_u]Haze[/name_u], and I do love an -aze nickname. They’re very nice, though I’m biased. 
As for the meaning and Lucifer/TV connections… I suppose I can see why one might dislike the name for those reasons! Those are valid. I mean, I’m not a huge [name_f]Maia[/name_f] [name_u]Echo[/name_u] fan because of those pop culture connections (also loving the fact that your fiance is a [name_u]Marvel[/name_u] nut— [name_u]Echo[/name_u] is a great hero!!), but I’m simply not familiar with any connections relating to [name_f]Mazikeen[/name_f]. Also, I think [name_f]Mazikeen[/name_f] is just such a cool name that I don’t even mind any connotations. (Especially since I hadn’t heard of them.) To the point that [name_f]Mazikeen[/name_f] has an unsavory meaning… that’s true. But, plenty of names have dull, dark, boring, or otherwise meanings. I’ve never found that a dealbreaker myself, but I do understand that some meanings are just too much for some folks. Varies person to person!

The meaning of [name_f]Mazikeen[/name_f] doesn’t matter to me. I sort of like [name_u]Onyx[/name_u] but I always think of the Pokemon, Onix. The only Pokemon names I like are Braixen, [name_f]Eevee[/name_f], and [name_f]Jynx[/name_f]. I would say I like [name_m]Draven[/name_m] but my middle name is Raven…
Yeah, I mostly find name meanings an annoying distraction from their sound and feel myself. What about [name_u]Nyx[/name_u] in the first spot? I’d totally say use [name_m]Draven[/name_m] in honor of yourself, too…more moms should name kids after themselves, imo!

When picking our dog, Razelia’s name, had she been a male, we would have named him [name_u]Remington[/name_u]. [name_u]Franklin[/name_u] would have been my baby brother’s name and while I’d love to honor him despite him never making it to earth side, I feel wrong doing so in case my mother would have changed her mind. I like [name_u]Mallory[/name_u] especially with the nn [name_u]Rory[/name_u] which is the only way he’d go for it. I don’t like outdated names like [name_f]Barbara[/name_f] or [name_m]Frank[/name_m]. [name_m]Mitchell[/name_m] and [name_u]Dean[/name_u] are family names from his side and [name_m]Mitchell[/name_m] honors my first angel baby. The only O names I like are [name_u]Oliver[/name_u] and [name_f]Octavia[/name_f] and he won’t agree to either. He says [name_f]Octavia[/name_f] sounds “too black”… Not meaning it in a racist way, the only girls we know with the name are black and he feels like it better suits someone of color. We helped a former friend name her FAKE baby who was going to be out god son, [name_u]Oliver[/name_u].
[name_u]Salem[/name_u] was going to be [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] [name_u]Kelly[/name_u] [name_u]Dove[/name_u] had he been a girl. We no longer like the name [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] as much as we did and will not be using [name_u]Kelly[/name_u] as it would have honored his mother. Salem’s middle name [name_m]Mitchell[/name_m] honors his mother, her parents, and my first angel. I like the idea of Haydrien but I’m not much for H names… Maybe Cadrien? I actually like it. [name_m]Cyrus[/name_m] is kinda cute. Same thing I said about [name_f]Octavia[/name_f], we’ve only seen it on used once for a black male we went to school with but I do like the name. LOVE [name_u]Jagger[/name_u] but he always has to start singing “moves like Jagger” to make me mad. I stated before I wasn’t a fan of anything similar to [name_m]Xavien[/name_m] so [name_m]Xavior[/name_m] and [name_m]Xander[/name_m] are out.
[name_f]My[/name_f] full name is [name_f]Kalista[/name_f] [name_u]Raven[/name_u] [name_f]Geneva[/name_f] but I hate the spelling of [name_f]Kalista[/name_f] and absolutely hate the name [name_f]Geneva[/name_f] but mainly because it’s after my great grandmother who passed before I was born… She tried for 6 months to get my mother to abort me because she wasn’t married to my pos father.
On a positive note, would it be wrong to give my child the middle name [name_f]Kalista[/name_f] but spell it Calista/Callista?

I love the idea of you using [name_f]Callista[/name_f] spelled the way you prefer! Especially after your own experience of having an honor name for an undeserving person, I think it would be really sweet and powerful for your daughter to have an honor name for someone she can always count on.

See, I thought about that but I don’t feel like it works for that purpose. I don’t want to change anything about [name_f]Mazikeen[/name_f]. [name_f]My[/name_f] mom pulled [name_f]Lily[/name_f] from [name_f]Kalista[/name_f] as a nickname but always called her her little [name_u]Raven[/name_u] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] so that’s where [name_f]Lily[/name_f] falls into [name_f]Mazikeen[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_u]Fei[/name_u]. [name_u]Fei[/name_u] was his choice and it just works for me.
Oh its just as stunning and makes a nice sister for [name_u]Salem[/name_u].
