Hello all!
I am not expecting, but I love to discuss the names of our future children with my husband. It’s been awhile since I have come up with some new names, so I thought I’d ask for your expertise!
I’m going to list my top 4 girls names and top 4 boys names (at the moment) and if you would suggest names that “fit” with whatever style I have I would appreciate it!
Thank you and have a great day!
That’s a very good point.
I actually had the reverse, a first name without a nn. I always wanted one, so I was hoping to find a girls name that could accomplish both. Finding a name that may not need a nn, but had one as an option.
My husband is not over the moon with [name]Eliza[/name], but has agreed to liking [name]Ellie[/name].
Girls:
[name]Camille[/name] (nn [name]Cam[/name])-[name]Love[/name] [name]Camille[/name] though sounds like Camel. Like nn [name]Cammie[/name]/[name]Cammi[/name]
[name]Aria[/name] (nn [name]Ari[/name])-Cute different
[name]Adeline[/name] (nn [name]Addie[/name])-nice
[name]Eliza[/name] (nn [name]Ellie[/name])-Cute classic unique
Boys:
[name]Rowan[/name] (nn [name]Roe[/name])-Girl name.
[name]Declan[/name]-I know a 12 year old with the name he gets call duck all the time at youth group and schoo,.
[name]Weston[/name] (nn [name]West[/name])-Never will get this name or [name]Easton[/name]. Their the directions.
[name]Beckett[/name] (nn Becks)-Not a fan its a surname.
Thank you for your response and suggestions. I am going to leave the ones below that I really like. I just wanted to point out that [name]Rowan[/name] is in fact a boy name. Since [name]Brooke[/name] Shields named her daughter [name]Rowan[/name], the girls have been taking it. [name]Just[/name] like [name]Elliot[/name].
Boys:
[name]Bennett[/name] - I really like it, but DH has a cousin [name]Ben[/name].
[name]Ethan[/name]
[name]Asher[/name]
[name]Liam[/name]
[name]Elijah[/name]
[name]Carter[/name] - like, but our friends just used it
[name]Rhys[/name] - really like, but one syllable names sound too short with our one syllable last name
[name]Oliver[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name]! Unfortunatley our goddaughter has a sister [name]Olivia[/name]. Too close
[name]Jack[/name]
[name]Jude[/name]
[name]Grayson[/name]
[name]Finley[/name] - [name]Love[/name], but my cousin’s last name
[name]Kieran[/name] - our puppy is [name]Kyra[/name]
[name]Nolan[/name]
[name]Donovan[/name]
Deacan
[name]Callum[/name]
Girls:
[name]Ella[/name]
[name]Chloe[/name] - way to popular for me, but super cute
[name]Lily[/name]
[name]Hazel[/name]
[name]Amelia[/name] - so in love, but a friend is using it for her daughter in [name]August[/name]
[name]Arwen[/name] - was a runner up name for our puppy
[name]Adriana[/name]
[name]Adria[/name]
[name]Claire[/name] - DH’s cousin’s new baby’s name
[name]Elise[/name] - DH’s aunt
[name]Sophia[/name] - my cousin
[name]Alia[/name] - my sister’s name
[name]Delaney[/name] - I love it, hubby hates it
[name]Annika[/name]
[name]Kira[/name] - our puppy is [name]Kyra[/name]
[name]Eliza[/name] (or Elizabrth I keep swaying!), [name]Aria[/name] and [name]Rowan[/name] are all in my list for future children!
([name]Rowan[/name] I would use for a boy or a girl (I think that,as a nature name, it is truly unisex.)
I don’t think I’ll be much help with other suggestions as these three are perfect as they are!
The fact that everyone seems to think of [name]Rowan[/name] as “unisex” makes me sad. I didn’t want my future son to be one of today’s “[name]Pat[/name], [name]Jaime[/name], [name]Chris[/name]'s”. A name where looking at it doesn’t answer the question of what sex they are.
