What do you think...

My husband and I are expecting our first baby in [name_u]March[/name_u] and we’ve decided to name him [name_u]Brayden[/name_u] [name_u]Shea[/name_u]. What are your thoughts on it? We certainly aren’t naming experts so we don’t know much about names but we do love the way it sounds. Opinions?

I think [name_u]Shea[/name_u] is a fantastic middle name. So unexpected!

[name_u]Brayden[/name_u] is alright, it feels a little dated, and might get lost in the sea of Aidens and Haydens etc. But those aren’t huge cons. What I notice most is that the [name_u]Bray[/name_u] of [name_u]Brayden[/name_u] rhymes with [name_u]Shea[/name_u].

Regardless, it’s a handsome choice, and if you love it, then it’s the perfect choice for your little man. Congratulations!

I love [name_u]Shea[/name_u]! I do agree that [name_u]Brayden[/name_u] will date, but just about everything dates eventually. It’s a solid choice, congratulations!

The main rule is to choose what you love! The name flows beautifully.

I am not a huge fan of [name_u]Brayden[/name_u] for reasons others have already mentioned. [name_u]Brayden[/name_u] [name_u]Shea[/name_u] flows well and has an obvious spelling and pronunciation which are important.

It flows well and [name_u]Shea[/name_u] is great. [name_u]Brayden[/name_u] is not my style

Somewhere along the way, “trendy” became a bad word in regards to names. I think it’s utter silliness! [name_u]Brayden[/name_u] is a real name. It has a meaning and a history and just because it’s more popular now than ever before does not make it bad. [name_m]Braden[/name_m] has been in the top 1000 since 1970 whereas [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] has only been in it since 1990.

If in 80 years people read “[name_u]Brayden[/name_u]” and say “oh, he’s an old guy” well, guess what, he will be an old guy. Also, “old people names” tend to resurface and become popular again (like [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]) so who’s to say in 80 years there won’t be a bunch of people discussing names and loving [name_u]Brayden[/name_u] and [name_u]Harper[/name_u] for their classic charm.

Sorry, I just had to rant. I hate when people discount a legitimate name just because they’re on trend.

[name_u]Brayden[/name_u] [name_u]Shea[/name_u] is a lovely name!
