I’ve been trying to research baby names and I noticed there’s no entry on Bungee. Is it really that unique? I want to name my baby boy this. It sounds so old world to me.

But does the “ee” sound at the end sound too feminine or cutesy though? [name_m]Like[/name_m] Lacey/ee or Wendy/ee? If I can’t convince father for Bungee as first name, then I will settle for it being his middle name. Something like [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] Bungee.

I’m also stuck on the spelling. I like “Bungee” but I wouldn’t want it to be mispronounced with a soft g like in bungee cord so “Bungy” might be better even though I like the double e more. I don’t know I can’t decide if I want to go with what I want or be more practical.

I look forward to any thoughts anyone has one this.
I’ve never heard of this as a name.
[name_f][/name_f]It just makes me think of bungee jumping. Does it have a history of use as a first name?
[name_f][/name_f]I think it’s a bit too out-there, sorry.

[name_m]Welcome[/name_m]!

I would 100% pronounce Bungee with a soft g like in “bungee jump”. Bungy could go either way but I think I’d still assume a soft g first.

Honestly, I don’t like it as a name. I just think the jump/cord is an overwhelming association and I also associate it with other quite unappealing words like “bung”, “fungi”, “bogey”.

Would you be open to similar alternatives?

I agree that [name_m]Bungee[/name_m] would definitely be pronounced like bungee cord, and I think [name_m]Bungy[/name_m] might be too honestly. I think the bungee jumping association is very strong and I honestly don’t love the sound of it. It doesn’t read as feminine to me… but it doesn’t really seem masculine either. I personally would not use either spelling of this name. (I love [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] though!)
