I found a couple of things… could possibly be a form of Mainikki, a Finnish name meaning “great/praised”. I also found a boys’ name Maina meaning “sing/dance” in Kikuyu. [name_m]Or[/name_m] maybe a play on the state of [name_m]Maine[/name_m]?
Maina is intriguing, I like [name_f]Laina[/name_f] or more, but it’s fun to say and Maina [name_m]Pearl[/name_m] is sweet. [name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_m]Pearl[/name_m]!

In addition to what [name_m]Ash[/name_m] found, I also see it may be an Italian surname and the feminine form of Maino.
Maino seems to be the shortened form of longer names like Mainardo which means strength
Not sure what your ethnic background is but I have found it as a name in various cultures.
In Sanskrit, it could mean the messenger of [name_m]God[/name_m].
In Assamese, one of the many languages in [name_f]India[/name_f], there’s a song by Lakhi [name_f]Chandra[/name_f] called Maina but I don’t know what it means. I don’t think any of my [name_f]Indian[/name_f] friends are Assamese so I doubt they would know what it means but I could still ask.
I see there was Nepalese girl named Maina but again, Idk what it means.
There’s records of some people from [name_f]Nigeria[/name_f] and [name_f]Kenya[/name_f] with the name but not sure what it means
I also see a link to a pdf of Latvian names where Maina is supposedly listed but I can’t seem to open the pdf rn to verify
In addition, I see it as one of the spelling options for the name of a tribe in [name_m]South[/name_m] [name_f]America[/name_f]
If you like birds, you can think of your name as a variant of [name_f]Myna[/name_f], a starling in [name_m]Southern[/name_m] [name_f]Asia[/name_f]
