What ELSE can Sally be a nickname for (not Sarah?)

Hey, berries!
[name_m]Just[/name_m] wondering, husband and I are discussing name ideas for baby 3 (not coming anytime soon, but just talking theoretically). Two boys already, [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] and [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] with nn [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] and [name_u]Nat[/name_u]/[name_m]Natty[/name_m]. Could [name_f]Sally[/name_f] be a nickname for [name_f]Susanna[/name_f]? We’re interested in any and all suggestions other than [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] (rhymes with my sister’s name). Thanks in advance!

[name_f]Salvadora[/name_f], I guess. [name_f]Sally[/name_f] for [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] is really stretching it–unless the middle name was [name_u]Allison[/name_u]/[name_f]Alexandra[/name_f], in which case it would be tolerable. Honestly [name_f]Sally[/name_f] has sufficiently long usage as a given name I think it would be fine to just call her [name_f]Sally[/name_f].

Hmm…

[name_f]Salome[/name_f]
[name_f]Salina[/name_f]
Salwa
Salvatrice

I could see that working for [name_f]Susanna[/name_f]/[name_f]Susannah[/name_f]. (Although [name_f]Susie[/name_f] is a bit more intuitive.)

I could also see [name_f]Sally[/name_f] working as a nickname for [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f], [name_f]Sonia[/name_f], [name_f]Selma[/name_f], [name_f]Selena[/name_f], [name_f]Susette[/name_f]/[name_f]Suzette[/name_f], [name_f]Sabella[/name_f], [name_f]Saletta[/name_f], [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f], [name_f]Sybil[/name_f]

I think [name_f]Sally[/name_f] is fine for a nn for [name_f]Susannah[/name_f]. I like the idea of [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] as well, but all the pp ideas work. Also [name_f]Sybilla[/name_f].

I know a [name_f]Suzanne[/name_f] who goes exclusively by [name_f]Sally[/name_f], except on official documents, so it can be made to work. I have kind of assumed it is an honor name, but I don’t know the story. I also know a Salvetta, so that could be an option.

I also think [name_f]Sally[/name_f] would work perfectly fine as a given name all by itself and that’s probably what I would do in your situation. But if you’re really only planning to call her [name_f]Sally[/name_f], it might not matter too much if her formal name rhymes with her aunt’s name.

I think [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] could work with the nn [name_f]Sally[/name_f]

Some others:
[name_f]Thessaly[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]
[name_f]Sylvia[/name_f]

Most of the names I can think of have already been mentioned, but I also thought of Salka and [name_f]Salina[/name_f].

I agree with pp [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f]

Yes, I think it works just fine for [name_f]Susannah[/name_f].
