What Era?

If you heard the name [name_f]Annie[/name_f] [name_f]Sue[/name_f], what decade would you picture? In other words, how dated is it? If it wasn’t dated, would the sound appeal to you? I like this name a lot, but…

To me it sounds like a young girl with braids and a sort of [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]-esque dress living in the Midwest in the 1940s or 1950s. I think it sounds very nice, but my worry is that she might be called [name_f]Peggy[/name_f] [name_f]Sue[/name_f], an old fifties song, on accident or as a joke.

I would imagine someone’s grandmother called this. I think [name_f]Anne[/name_f]/[name_f]Anna[/name_f]/[name_f]Annie[/name_f] are fine on its own, as well as [name_f]Susan[/name_f]/[name_f]Suzanne[/name_f]/[name_f]Suzie[/name_f]

[name_f]Annie[/name_f] [name_f]Sue[/name_f] sounds like a grandma name.

50s. Not appealing to me, because I strongly dislike [name_f]Anne[/name_f] and all of its forms and nicknames. [name_f]Sue[/name_f] is lovely.
