What full names get the nickname Nellie?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone!
Really loving the nickname [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] at the moment. I think it has a sweet vintage charm.
Would especially work with [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] “Josie”.
Wouldn’t [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] and [name_u]Josie[/name_u] be such a sweet sibset?
Anyway, I’m looking for some full names for [name_f]Nellie[/name_f].
I can’t seem to love [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], I quite like [name_f]Helena[/name_f], and I like [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], but this would be more likely to get [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] or [name_f]Nora[/name_f] naturally. I love the idea of [name_f]Ellena[/name_f], [name_f]Ellen[/name_f] with an A, but it isn’t really a distinguished name, and more likely to get mistaken for [name_f]Elena[/name_f]. [name_f]Elena[/name_f] is more commonly pronounced [name_f]Elaina[/name_f], and I don’t think it feels vintage enough for my liking. If [name_f]Ellena[/name_f] was an established name, it would be perfect. [name_f]Helena[/name_f] is lovely though, and does work as an honour name as well for a [name_f]Helen[/name_f] in our family tree.
What would you reccomend for [name_f]Nellie[/name_f]?

Okay aside from the obvious [name_f]Helen[/name_f], [name_f]Helena[/name_f], [name_f]Elena[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] I would like to point out a good friend I have right now who’s given name is [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] and she goes by [name_u]Nelly[/name_u], sometimes even by [name_f]Nell[/name_f]. So because I think [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] and/or [name_u]Noel[/name_u] are not usually thought of as possibilites so I’m highlighting them.

Also;

[name_f]My[/name_f] aunts name is Tornell. She goes by [name_u]Toni[/name_u] but [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] would work too.

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

I’m absolutely in love with [name_f]Nellie[/name_f]. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] & [name_u]Josie[/name_u] would be darling as sisters. I love [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] & I kind of love [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], I think…I like [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f] too. What about [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f]?

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.

[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] could be Nellie; I really like that!

[name_f]Noelle[/name_f]! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

In support of [name_f]Ellena[/name_f]:

[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] always strikes me as a literary name (Little Women), and so does [name_f]Ellena[/name_f]! It’s the main character of an early Gothic novel, The Italian by [name_f]Ann[/name_f] [name_m]Radcliffe[/name_m]! So for me, [name_f]Ellena[/name_f] and [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] work!

Some other ideas:

[name_f]Cornelia[/name_f] (with the Cor-neh-lee-uh pn)
[name_f]Noelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Petronella[/name_f]
[name_f]Lenora[/name_f]

[name_f]Nellie[/name_f] and [name_u]Josie[/name_u] are so sweet together! One of my favourite full names for [name_f]Nellie[/name_f] (besides the lovely [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and Helena) is [name_f]Arianell[/name_f]. I’ve also seen [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] “Nell” suggested here before, so maybe that could work for [name_f]Nellie[/name_f]?

[name_f]Janelle[/name_f]

Thank you so much!!
I actually love Ellena, I’ll be sure to check out that book too - from the synopsis I read it seems interesting! That’s great to hear you think Ellena and Josephine work!
Ellena, Josephine & Peter are a sibset I really like right now!
