One of my best friends is pregnant with boy-girl twins (huge congrats to her!). She has the name [name_m]Colin[/name_m] picked out for the boy but she’s struggling with finding a girls name that fits with it and I was thinking maybe one of you would be able to help?
These are some of the names she likes:
[name_f]Rose[/name_f]/[name_f]Rosie[/name_f]
[name_f]Emily[/name_f] (but she hates [name_f]Emma[/name_f])
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f]
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]
[name_f]Eve[/name_f]
[name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]
She loves simple yet classic names, but she also loves names like:
[name_f]Raphaela[/name_f]
Amith
[name_f]Morgana[/name_f]
[name_f]Eira[/name_f]
Any suggestions will be helpful and thank you in advance
I like [name_m]Colin[/name_m] and [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] best from the above list. Some other possibilities:
[name_m]Colin[/name_m] and [name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_m]Colin[/name_m] and [name_f]Edith[/name_f]
[name_m]Colin[/name_m] and [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]
[name_m]Colin[/name_m] and [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_m]Colin[/name_m] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_m]Colin[/name_m] and [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_m]Colin[/name_m] and [name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_m]Colin[/name_m] and [name_f]Tess[/name_f]/[name_f]Tessa[/name_f]
[name_m]Colin[/name_m] and [name_f]Verity[/name_f]
[name_m]Colin[/name_m] and [name_f]Zoe[/name_f]
I think because [name_m]Colin[/name_m] is such a simple classic I would go with a name similar in sound.
[name_f]My[/name_f] thoughts…
[name_f]Rose[/name_f] - a lovely name she’s a beautiful classic with gorgeous floral connotations. I also love the nickname [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] with potentially the nickname Col. [name_f]Rose[/name_f] & [name_m]Colin[/name_m] stylistically go work together as well.
[name_f]Emily[/name_f] - [name_f]Emily[/name_f] isn’t my favourite ‘em’ name but she’s a classic and works nicely. I prefer [name_f]Emma[/name_f] she has more spunk.
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f] - I’m from the UK and this name just feels slightly dated.
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] - She’s a lovely choice with a soft wholesome sound and I adore the nicknames surrounding [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] such as [name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Evie[/name_f], [name_f]Eva[/name_f], and [name_u]Lynn[/name_u]. [name_m]Colin[/name_m] sounds lovely with [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u].
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] - a lovely biblical classic which is just classy and works nicely with [name_m]Colin[/name_m]. [name_m]Colin[/name_m] & [name_f]Eve[/name_f] sound sweet together but I prefer [name_m]Colin[/name_m] & [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] it just looks prettier together.
[name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] - A beautiful [name_m]French[/name_m] name, she’s lovely and has sweet nicknames associated with her for example [name_f]Maddie[/name_f] & [name_f]Elle[/name_f]. But doesn’t work with [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f].
[name_f]Raphaela[/name_f] - A beautiful name with a gorgeous European quality. She’s warm and inviting. I love the [name_f]Ella[/name_f] nickname but I dislike her with [name_m]Colin[/name_m] stylistically it doesn’t work.
Amith - not keen.
[name_f]Morgana[/name_f] - A lovely majestic sounding choice but yet again I’m not sure if it works stylistically with [name_m]Colin[/name_m].
[name_f]Eira[/name_f] - [name_u]Haven[/name_u]'t made my mind up on this one.
[name_m]Colin[/name_m] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is my favorite.
[name_m]Colin[/name_m] and [name_f]Tessa[/name_f]
[name_m]Colin[/name_m] and [name_f]Allegra[/name_f]
[name_m]Colin[/name_m] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_m]Colin[/name_m] and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_m]Colin[/name_m] and [name_f]Maya[/name_f]
[name_m]Colin[/name_m] and [name_f]Bridget[/name_f]
[name_m]Colin[/name_m] and [name_f]Emily[/name_f] & [name_m]Colin[/name_m] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] are my favorites from her list. Other ideas:
[name_m]Colin[/name_m] and [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_m]Colin[/name_m] and [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]
[name_m]Colin[/name_m] and [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]
[name_m]Colin[/name_m] and [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]
That’s awesome!
When I hear [name_m]Colin[/name_m], I think classic British gentleman. [name_m]Colin[/name_m] [name_f]Firth[/name_f], for example.
Suggestions:
Instead of [name_f]Rose[/name_f] - [name_f]Ivy[/name_f], [name_f]Iris[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f] or [name_f]Marigold[/name_f]
Instead of [name_f]Emily[/name_f] - [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], [name_f]Cecily[/name_f], [name_f]Mallory[/name_f]
I like [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] with [name_m]Colin[/name_m]
Instead of [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] or [name_f]Eve[/name_f] - [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], [name_f]Catherine[/name_f], [name_f]Jessamyn[/name_f]/[name_f]Jessamine[/name_f], [name_f]Ava[/name_f]
I like [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] with [name_m]Colin[/name_m]
There is nothing wrong with any of the names she likes, to be honest.
